Welcome to our Restaurant Reviews for Southern California, where we provide honest reviews, illustrated with many digital photos, of restaurants, diners and other places where we've had the pleasure to dine in Southern California. Reviews from the Tehachapi Mountains to the Mexican border...

Mountain Top Cafe:  Serving delicious food at the same highway location since 1940, just outside Phelan.  Features amazing diner cusine, friendly service, and reasonable prices.

Sushi Tomo:  Delicious sushi and other Japanese favorites are enjoyed at this friendly restaurant located in north San Bernardino.  How could I resist the Bento Box Special with tempura fried shrimp?

Tony's Diner:  Old school diner, located on Cajon Blvd. - old Route 66 - just outside San Bernardino in the small town of Devore.  Delicious diner cuisine, daily specials, and super friendly service.

Ranch House Restaurant:  Family friendly, western style dining at the top of Tejon Pass, in Gorman.  Friendly service and great burgers, and a lot more...

El Grullense:  Family owned and operated, El Grullense features delicous Mexican dining in Gorman, at the top of the Grapevine Summit.

Ted's Place:  American diner, located in Torrrance, that ofers a wide selection of breakfast items, burgers, sandwiches, dinners, salads and Mexican food.  Bargain "Early Bird Breakfast Special," for $1.49!!!

Queen Mary Observation Bar:  Features delicious pub-style appetizers, full-service bar, with lots of beer on tap. Located aboard former R.M.S. Queen Mary, docked in Long Beach harbor.

Taco Bell, Torrance:  Your typical 2013 Taco Bell restaurant, which serves the great food you expect, inexpensive prices, and clean, family-friendly dining.

Carl's Jr., Harbor City:  Great food, in the style of any other newer Carl's Jr. outlet.  I enjoy two delicous meals at this convienient Torrance location.

Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen #3325:  Located in Torrance, Popeyes serves delicious Cajun style chicken, fish, and many Louisiana-style side dishes.

Dodger Dog:  Small hot dog stand, located next to the bandstand inside Universal Studios Theme Park, this is Universal Studio's outlet for perhaps the most famous hot dog in the world.

Original Tommy's Hamburgers:  We hit the jackpot at Universal City Walk, as we get to enjoy an original Tommy's chili cheeseburger, and an order of chili fries.

Pink's World Famous Hot Dogs:  Same great hot dogs as the original location, but without the crowds and the stars... located on the second floor of Universal Studios City Walk.

Pink's World Famous Hot Dogs:  Pink's is famous for many reasons, as they serve delicious hot dogs that "snap" when you bit into them, and you might get to gaze at a movie star or two during your visit to Pinks...

Egg Plantation:  Features 101 varieties of omelets, great service, and a full-service bar, which is quite unusual for a restaurant only open for breakfast and lunch.  Located in Newhall.

Delicious Taco Shop:  Features authentic San Diego-Mexican cuisine, served by friendly people, and the delicious food is reasonable priced.

Aunt Emma's Pancake Restaurant:  Serves "All-American" diner cusine, with many Mexican classics on the menu... you can't beat their Mexican Omelet!  A Chula Vista classic.

Broken Yolk Café:  Can you eat a 12-egg omelet and all the fixin's?  If you can... you'll get it for free... Broken Yolk offers the challenge, but everying thing else a breakfast lover could desire, in San Marcos.

Dragon Express and Pho Vietnam Express:  Features Chinese and Vienamamese food, and is family owned and operated, and is close to just about everything.  Oh yes, they serve delicious food in Chula Vista!

Fantail Café:  Located aboard the U.S.S. Midway, Fantail serves great food, cold beer, in a protected outdoor setting, with a great view of the city.  Oh yes... the menu includes S.O.S.!

Original Tommy's World Famous Hamburgers:  Tommy's serves a delicious cheeseburger in San Diego, and the restaurant's slogan is Maintain quality, at all costs...  Tommy's is my kind of place!

Papa John's Pizza Lake Elsinore:  Yes, this is store #3283, but it's a fun place to visit, the people are friendly, and the pizza is delicious!

Carnitas Express:  Delicious Mexican food, served by friendly people, Carnita's is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner in beautiful Menifee.

Canyon Lake Market:  Specializes in one of the best tri tip sandwiches that I've ever eaten, this market has a deli that will cater to your very delicatessen need.

Vince's Spaghetti Express:  Delicious Italian cuisine served in a very family-friendly athnosphere. Vince's serves delicious spaghetti, mostaccioli, lasagna, sandwiches, and much more, in Temecula.

Denny's:  Yes, it's the national chain, and my son Matthew and I enjoy a delicious, if not somewhat ordinary, meal at this clean, comfortable outlet, in Lake Elsinore.

Lake House Tavern:  It's a full-service bar, with cold draugh beer on tap, complete with live rock 'n roll on weekends, but they make delicious pizza and other good things to eat.  Great "pub food" in Canyon Lake!

On The Waterfront Cafe:  Great Swiss or American cuisine, and a view of the crazy life enjoyed along the beach, in Venice Beach.

Costco Lake Elsinore:  You can't beat their quarter pound hot dog, plus a bottomless, 20-oz drink for the unheard of lowball price of $1.50, plus tax!  Talk about a loss-leader... but the drinks are cold, and the dogs are great!
