The small town of Gorman, California, is near the top of Tejon Pass, also know as "Grapevine Summit," where Interstate 5 crests the mountains that separate the San Joaquin Valley from the San Fernando Valley.  Geography aside, as you crest the mountains, and you're looking for good food, Ranch House Restaurant in Gorman is a great place to pull over, and enjoy some great food.

As with all of reviews that I publish, I have no affiliation with the restaurant reviewed, and there is no monetary gain on my part, as I am simply a person who likes to eat, and I love to write-up, and publish my dining experiences.

Photo:  It's 11 o'clock on Monday, October 16, 2017, and we've arrived at Ranch House Restaurant in Gorman, CA, at the top of Tejon Summit, and it's time for lunch.

The restaurant is located in back of a motel, and the entrance is in the rear of the complex and a little confusing to enter, but you'll park and get the idea.  Ranch House Restaurant is located around the corner from El Grullense, which I enjoyed during a visit back in 2014.  Click on the link and you'll see what the co-located Mexican restaurant has to offer.

Photo:  You enter the restaurant, and you will walk through an entry way, and you'll be greeted by a friendly greeter/server.  Today, at lunch time, our friendly hostess, Davita is updating the white board that advertises the special for the day. We arrived around 11 in the morning to enjoy an early lunch.

Photo:  The dining room is divided into several sections, and separated by several low partitions.  The decor is very western, and "old school," and even includes a "sort of" soda fountain.

Photo:  Less than five minutes after placing our order, Michael's side salad arrived, along with the vinegar and oil salad dressing, as per his request.

Photo:  Our friendly, but camera shy hostess, Davita, chats with Michael, after bringing our lunch to our booth.  The dining room is furnished in booths, and does not have a counter, but there is a semi-private dining room with a full-service bar located adjacent to the main dining room.

Photo:  Meet Davita, our friendly greeter and server.  Actually, as she served our food, she was very camera shy, but she warmed up to my camera, as I was leaving, as I snapped the photogenic photo of her.  If there is any doubt in your mind, Ranch House Restaurant definitely used a computerised cash register!

Photo:  Thanks Davita for snapping the photo of Michael and I, as we prepare to enjoy a delicious lunch.

Photo:  Michael ordered a "Turkey Club Sandwich" with everything.  Unfortunately, one of the main garnishes was avocado, and our hostess, Davita, told us the "avocado truck" had not arrived, so they substituted bacon, which was a fair trade-off.  Michael loved his sandwich.

Photo:  Being the hungry carnivore that I am, I opted for the $9.95 half-pound burger, with everything on it, and an order of fries.  Such a great burger!

Great food!  Great service!  Couple all of that with a rural, "cowboy-esque" atmosphere, and you'll see that a meal at Ranch House Restaurant is a "must-stop-at" dining destination, located in Gorman, from anywhere along Interstate 5, to Los Angeles and beyond.
