From the Sacramento Valley, and the Bay Area, all the way to the Oregon State Line, I post reviews of restaurants where I've eaten, all over Northern California.


BJ's Restaurant and Brewhouse:  The Elk Grove location offers amazing "Americana" cuisine, in a lively sports bar dining room, served by friendly staff.  Full service bar, with craft beers on tap!

The Barn Cafe:  Country atmosphere, great food, friendly service make this amazing diner a favorite of the Elk Grove locals, and all "foodies" in the greater Sacramento area.

Humpty Dumpty Kitchen:  Serves classic diner-style cuisine in a comfortable dining room.  A favorite breakfast restaurant of Grass Valley locals and visitors

Stagecoach Restaurant:  Serving best-ever southern cuisine... this family owned and operated has been a Sacramento icon since 1978.  Best southern breakfast ... ever!

Perko's Cafe:  The Antelope location of this chain isn't photographer friendly, and serves attitude.  Bye-bye.

Charlie's Cafe:  A favorite breakfast and lunch restaurant of Citrus Heights locals, who appreciate fine "country cookin'" and friendly service.

Sabor A Mexico:  Superior Mexican cuisine, served by friendly staff, inside of comfortable, colorful dining room, or outside on a beautiful patio.  Fine dining in Elk Grove.

Squeeze In:  Favorite of Truckee locals and tourists alike!  Delicious breakfast and lunch, served in a "funky" mountain decor, located in downtown Truckee.

Yaks On The 5:  A destination restaurant for "foodies" who enjoy a custom-made burger, crafted from locally-sourced ingredients.  Friendly service!  Located in Dunsmuir...

Plaza del Sol Cantina:  Family owned and operated, serves delicious Mexican cuisine in a comfortable dining room.  Located in Elk Grove...

Taqueria Los Lagos:  Serves delicious "Guadalajara style" Mexican cuisine, with menudo and birria on weekends. Friendly staff and great dining in Antelope...

Creekside Diner:  Classic, "old school" diner, located in Rio Linda, that serves all of you breakfast and lunch favorites, by friendly staff.

BurgerIM:  Located in Antelope, this new addition the the area burger scene features "gourmet," flame broiled burgers of every variety, and lots more.  Beer on tap!

Sunrise Waffle Shop:  Serves all your breakfast and lunch favorites in a comfortable dining room, by friendly staff. Located in Rancho Cordova.

Cricket Country Kitchen:  "Old school" diner, located in Sacramento, that is "dead serious" about breakfast, and features some of the craziest decor you've ever seen!

Bull Wings Bar & Grill:  Famous for delicious wings, this Elk Grove sports bar features fine patio dining and amazing "pub dining" cuisine, served by friendly staff...

Fox and Goose:  Features delious British cuisine, in an authentic English pub atmosphere.  Features delicious food, British beer on tap, pation dining, and amazingly friendly service.  In midtown Sacramento...

Burger Me!:  As seen on television's Food Network, this fine burger restaurant makes custom burgers, to order, and serves some of the best burgers in Truckee, and the Sierra Nevada mountains...

Jenn's Cafe:  A favorite breakfast and lunch restaurant, and the "hangout" of choice for the Oroville locals.  As the virus rages, Jenn's offers comfortable patio dining.

Country Hearth Restaurant and Bakery:  A favorite of Cedarville locals, this amazing restaurant serves "Americana" cuisine in a "country" dining room, with outside dining.  Great food and friendly staff!

Wagon Train Cafe:  Breakfast is served anythime the restaurant is open... NRA sticker on the door... Great food, friendly staff and diners... such a great restaurant, located in downtown Truckee!

Silver Dollar Saloon:  Step back in time, and enjoy an amazing meal in a saloon that dates back to the gold rush. You'll love the delicious food, the period atmosphere, and the friendly staff...

Duke's Diner:  Classic "old school" diner, located in Olivehurst.  Features delicious breakfast and lunch, served by friendly staff.  Reasonable prices and large portions.

Mela's Mexican Restaurant:  Great Mexican dining in Marysville... just like enjoying fine food at a loncheria in Tijuana...

Aria Afghan Restaurant:  You don't have to cross the ocean to enjoy Afghani cuisine... just visit Aria, located in North Highlands.  Great food, served by friendly staff.

Wonderful Chinese Restaurant:  As the name says, the food is wonderful, the service is friendly... everything about this restaurant is "wonderful!"  Great Chinese cuisine in Elk Grove...

Jasper's Giant Burgers:  Delicious, juicy burgers in Rancho Cordova, in a modern, "old school" dining room with retro decour.  Burgers, fries, hot dogs, beer on tap... and lots more....

Huckleberry's:  Features "Southern cookin' with a California twist" in Elk Grove.  Delicious food, served by friendly people, in a comfortable dining room.

Florez Bar and Grill:  Authentic and delicious Mexican cuisine, served by friendly staff, in Sacramento.  Open for breakfast at 7 every morning, and menudo is served daily!

Rivers Edge Cafe:  Features delicious "Americana" cuisine in Sacramento.  Today, we celebrate Veteran's Day with a free breakfast to veterans, and a live television broadcast.

El Puerto Mexican Restaurant:  Family owned and operated since 1983, El Puerto is a favorite of the Rancho Cordova locals, and serves delicious Mexican cuisine...

Alamar Marina Restaurant and Bar:  Fine dining with a beautiful view of the Sacramento River, as the restaurant floats on the river!  Amazing food and great service, at Alamar, north of downtown Sacramento...

Taqueria El Balcon:  Over-the-top, amazing Mexican cuisine, served by friendly staff, in a sports bar-like atmsophere.  Located in suburban Sacracramento...

Mariscos La Costa:  Amazing Mexican seafood, along with all of your favorites, in Chico.  Food is great and the staff is friendly.  Have you ever enjoyed a "Molcajetes Mariscos?"  Go for it!!

Pitch and Fiddle:  Sports bar/Irish pub that features an endless variety of beer on tap, with great food, served by friendly staff.  Home of the "Big Ass Burger" in Sacramento...

El Puerto Mexican Restaurant:  Great Mexican cuisine, low prices, friendly service... Such a great place to enjoy amazing Mexican food in West Sacramento.

Erma Jeans Southern Cuisine:  Soul food, southern classics, and lots more are enjoyed at Erma Jeans.  Located in Olivehearst, it's a long way from Dixie, but the staff is friendly and the food is delicious.

Carol's Restaurant:  Iconic, family-friendly diner, located in West Sacramento.  Features oustanding breakfast and lunch, served by friendly staff.  Great dining!

Sail Inn Grotto:  Located near the Port of West Sacramento, Sail Inn serves delicious food, cold beer, by friendly staff, with a nautical theme.  Classic West Sacramento dining....

Alonzo's Coffee Shop:  Features both Mexican and American "comfort foods" in a comfortable diner.  Located in South Sacramento, the food is delicious and the staff is freindly.

Cafe El Dorado:  Features delicious breakfast and lunch, served in a rustic dining room by super friendly staff. Amazing small town diner in El Dorado.

Train Station Coffee Shop:  A favorite restaurant of Shingle Springs locals!  Features delicious breakfast and lunch, in a "funky" dining room, served by friendly staff.

Sierra Nevada Brewing Company Taproom:  Combine a free tour of the brewery, complimentary beer samples, and a restaurant that serves delicious food, and you've got a "destination" when you visit Chico.

Corner Kitchen:  Small, rustic diner, located in Georgetown, that serves some of the best food in El Dorado County! Oh the hash brown potatoes!  

Abyssinia Restaurant:  If you're never enjoyed Ethiopian cuisine, you're in for a treat, as the food is both delicious and exotic.  Located in Sacramento, you'll find great food and friendly service.

Ruffhaus Hot Dog Co.: If you love hot dogs, you'll love this pub in El Dorado Hills that specializes in hot dogs, and serves some of the finest 'dogs around.

Sol Cubano:  The only Cuban restaurant in the greater Sacramento area.  Delicious Cuban cuisine, including a "sampler" that will give you a taste of island cuisine.  Great food and friendly people.

Rosie's Cafe:  Great food, "funky" decor, friendly service in Tahoe City, along the north chore of beautiful Lake Tahoe.  You'll love the antique bicycles that decorate the restaurant... not to mention the great food.

The Rustic Table:  Features delicious food, friendly staff, rustic dining, and a beautiful patio, where you can dine ouside under the pine trees.  Located in Emigrant Gap, off Interstate 80.

Sorensen's Country Cafe:  Small, charming restaurant, located inside the gift shop of Sorensen's Resort in Hope Valley.

Apple Bistro:  Fine country diner located on the way to Lake Tahoe.  Delicious breakfast and lunch, and a patio with a view.  Located just east of Placerville in California's gold country...

Sactown Kabob:  Offers delicious Persian, Iranian and Mediterranean cuisine, served by friendly staff, in the Arden Arcade area of Sacramento.

Original Perry's Coffee Shop:  Sacramento iconic restaurant since 1968.  Family-friendly dining, great food, and open 24/7/365.  Favorite of locals, truckers and anybody who appreciated delicious food.

Black Bear Diner:  It all started here, back in 1995, in Mt. Shasta City, and the original, and flagship restaurant of the Black Bear Diner chain serves a great breakfast!

Rubicon Brewing Company:  A midtown Sacramento icon, this brew pub serves hearty pub food, along with in-house brewed craft beer.  Enjoy it while you can, as it closes at the end of August, 2017.

Monsoon Burger:  Burgers and more, cooked to perfection, by friendly staff in the Natomas area of Sacramento. You enjoy your burger your way, along with all the fixin's, your way...

Taqueria Aguas Blancas:  Located in Coloma, this fine Mexican restaurant is a favorite of whitewater rafters, tourists, locals, and anybody who loves great Mexican food.

Hope Valley Café and Market:  Features delicious breakfast and lunch, along with a small general store, super friendly staff, located in a very rustic dining room in Hope Valley, just a few miles south of Lake Tahoe.

Paulette's Country Kitchen:  Favorite "Americana" cuisine restaurant of Grass Valley locals, and travelers alike. Go for the atmosphere, the friendly staff, but savor Paulette's gravy.

Blackberry Patch Restaurant:  Features classic "American" diner cuisine, in a mildly retro, family friendly restaurant.  Great "comfort" food in Burney.

Davis Creek Mercantile:  Rural northern California roadhouse that features amazing tacos on "Taco Thursday." The menu varies but the food is always good, and the staff is always friendly.

Lodge Coffee Shop:  Rustic, "old school" diner in Citrus Heights.  Serves delicious breakfast and lunch, served by friendly staff.  Great lunch specials!

Bert's Diner:  Retro diner in Elk Grove with a 1950's theme.  Classic, diner "comfort food,"  friendly staff, and your favorite nostalgic tunes for a quarter!

Bert's Cafe:  A favorite breakfast and lunch restaurant of the South Lake Tahoe locals.  Bert's serves delicious food, in a rustic dining room, staffed by friendly people.

Relish Burger Bar:  Features the best burgers in El Dorado Hills.  Fantastic burgers served by friendly staff in a very upscale location, complete with wonderful outdoor patio.

Taste of Britian:  Delicious, authentic British cuisine, served by staff who treat you like royalty.  Menu offers many British "comfort food" choices... Located in North Highlands, near former McClellan Air Force base.

Capitol Garage:  Automotive-themed restaurant in downtown Sacramento, that's actually part of an auto garage. Amazing food, friendly service and pricess atmosphere.

Sal's Tacos:  West Sacramento Mexican restaurant that serves menudo on weekends.  Delicious tacos, friendly staff and great dining atmosphere.  Enjoy the carnitas tacos...

Ben's Hawaiian Cafe:  Huli huli barbecue cuisine, chicken, pork, Spam musubi and more.  Delicious food, and the friendlist staff in town!  Located in Citrus Heights...

Pancake Palace:  A North Highlands classic restaurant.  Old school diner serves favorites such as pancakes waffles, eggs, burgers, and lots more.

Rey Azteca Taqueria Restaurant:  Combine a Mexican influence, and a neighborhood "Cheers-like" influence, and you have the perfect Mexican restaurant, in Carmichael, a suburb of Sacramento.

Big Taste Grill:  The largest mobile grill in the world!  Grills bratwurst, 750 at a time, at events around the country. I enjoy bratwurst at California Capital Airshow, in Mather, near Sacramento.

Mel Dog's Cafe:  Amazing "roadhouse" decor, license plates and signs everywhere, along with friendly staff and delicious diner cusine.  A favorite restaurant of the Elk Grove locals.

Spy Dogs:  Delicious hot dogs, corn dogs, nachos and more, served in historic Old Sacramento.  Great food, and you dine inside, or outside and check out all of the action happening...

Taqueria Garibaldi:  Great taqueria located in the Arden Arcade area of suburban Sacramento.  Great food, comfortable decour and fantastic service.

Poor Red's Bar-B-Q:  Features delicious barbecue steak, chicken, ribs and more, in the charming foothill community of El Dorado.  Amazing food served in a remodeled bar or dining room.

Ernie's Coffee Shop:  Classic diner located in South Lake Tahoe since 1968.  Offers delicious diner cuisine and service with a smile.

Tower Cafe:  Iconic Sacramento favorite, located next to historic Tower Theatre.  Serves delicious breakfast, and "fusion cuisine" by friendly people.  An amazing restaurant!

Ocean Fish and Chips:  Features London-style fish, chips, seafood and more, in Sacramento's Arden-Arcade district. Delicious food, friendly staff, large portions and great prices.

Martha's Taqueria:  Amazing Mexican cuisine, served by friendly staff, in a comfortable dining room, in Antelope. Did I mention dollar tacos on "Taco Tuesday?"

Chewy's:  Delicious American and Mexican comfort food, served by friendly staff, at bargain prices.  Their motto reads, "Lots of food, always fresh," and that's a true statement!  Located in Sacramento, Arden-Arcade area.

Extreme Hummus:  Fantastic Mediterranean gyros and much more, served by friendly staff who welcome you, and treat you like family.  Located just off the Interstate, in Citrus Heights.

Taste of Angkor:  Authentic Cambodian cuisine in Sacramento.  The ONLY Cambodian restauant in the greater Sacramento area.  The food is great, the prices are reasonable, and the staff is friendly.

Lou's Drive In:  Burgers, fries, milk shakes and more, served by friendly staff in a 1960's era drive in restaurant. Lou's serves delicious burgers and more, in North Highlands.

Taqueria La Morenita:  Authentic Mexican "street tacos," tortas and more, served by friendly staff at rock-bottom prices.  Delicious Mexican cuisine in Marysville.

Cousins Maine Lobster:  Upscale catering truck that serves delicious lobster dishes all over the greater Sacramento area.  At this writing, they're at Matchbox Winery, in Zamora.

Sinai Fast Food:  Delicious DOLLAR tacos during "Happy Hour!"  Serves delicious, CD-sized tacos, just like you'd find on the streets of Tijuana, or any other Mexican city.  Located in Antelope, near Sacramento.

Truckee Optimist Club:  Serves grilled hot dogs, brautwurst, hamburgers and more at annual Tahoe Truckee Air Show.  Food is delicious, reasonably priced, and the staff is very friendly.

Jax Truckee Diner:  Small town diner, which caters to the taste of locals.  Offers delicious diner cusine, friendly service, with a great view of the railroad tracks.  Local favorite!

Sharon's Cafe:  Fantastic diner cuisine, served by friendly people, in a rustic dining room. Located in the small Plumas County town of Portola.

Julioberto's Mexican Restaurant:  Delicious Mexican food, served in a clean, spacious dining.  Features one of the best salsa bars in Sacramento...

Chewy's:  We enjoy lunch, and some "Dishin' with Tina," and Good Day Sacramento.  Chewy's produces wonderful food, served by super friendly staff!

Rivers Edge Café and Espresso Bar:  Halloween event, broadcast live on Good Day Sacramento, featuring a stack of giant pancakes!  Great food and good times...

Reed's Ribs and More:  Catering vendor, at Gumbo Ya Ya Music and Food Festival in Woodland.  Features delicious Lousiana classics, such as deep-fried alligator, frog legs and more...

Max's Black Bear BBQ:  Offers "old school," delicious, real barbecue, and awesome sides.  This husband and wife team cookes some of the best barbecue the Sacramento Valley has to offer.

Bubbie's Love Deli & Catering:  Kosher deli in Citrus Heights that features outstanding food, friendly service, and comfortable dining.

Silver Fork Cafe:  Small mom and pop diner, open for breakfast and lunch, on the highway to Lake Tahoe. Rustic dining, friendly staff, and a decent breakfast, at a fair price.

Cafe Luna:  Small restaurant located in the Sierra Nevada mountain town of Colfax, that serves wonderful breakfast and lunch, that caters to the taste of the Colfax locals.

Kopper Kettle Cafe:  The essencial "Chester dining restaurant," Kopper Kettle Cafe offers delicious diner cuisine, friendly service, and a local, "Chester dining" experience, in the small Plumas County town of Chester.

Childs Meadow Resort:  Located near Lassen Volcanic Nation Park, and serves possibly the best breakfast in the area!  Offers rustic dining, friendly people, and outstanding food.

Lassen Cafe and Gift:  Micro beer, draught beer, delicious burgers and more... Located in the Southwest Visitor Center, in Lassen Volcanic National Park.

Chester Old Town Cafe:  Located in the small town of Chester, the restaurant features a bakery, delicious food, a limited menu, but lots of local flavor and local hospitality.

Sticky's Big Bone BBQ:  Alligator and pork ribs, grilled, Lousiana, cajun style.  If you've never eaten grilled alligator, here's your chance!  Featured at the 2013 Sacramento Crawfish and Catfish Festival.

PoBoy's:  Specilized in crawfish, but serves authentic boiled, or deep-fried, Lousiana cuisine.  Delicious food, cooked by friendly people, at the 2013 Sacramento Crawfish and Catfish Festival.

Central Station Grill:  They have a smoker in the parking lot in front of the resaurant, belching out smoke!!! Enough said, if you love Texas-barbecue, in Sacramento.

J.R.'s Texas Bar-B-Que:  Feaures authentic Texas barbecue, smoked over mesquite, gigantic portions, dipping sauce on the side, in a comfortable dining room.  Located in Sacramento.

El Pollo Feliz:  The North Highlands location feautres delicious chicken and ribs, cooked outdoors on a wood fired smoker!  Includes all of your Mexican favorites, served by friendly staff at bargain prices.

La Flor Pupusas Grill:  My first forray into the cuisine of El Salvador!  Their motto reads, "Famous for our delicious pupusas," and pupusas are delicious!  Also featured are items from Southern Mexico.  Located in Sacramento.

Rubio's Fresh Mexican Grill:  Offers a wide variety of delicious fish tacos, and a well-equipped salsa bar... but where are the chips?  Arden-Arcade location in suburban Sacramento.

Crazy Sushi:  I meet a family friend for lunch for sushi... This was my first taste of sushi, and I LOVED it.  Located in Elk Grove.

The Hotdogger:  Tiny restaurant that features wide variety of delicious hot dogs, staffed by a very friendly lady. Restaurant has shady, comfortable, outdoor dining in downtown Davis.

El Pollo Feliz:  Specilzes in chicken, which is cooked on an outdoor grill, located in front of the restaurant. Delicious food, food, lots of it, and very friendly staff.  Original location on Whitney Ave. in suburban Sacramento.

Don Quixote's Mexican Grill:  Located close to work... features delicious food at very reasonable prices, served by friendly staff in a spacious and comfortable dining room.  Watt Ave. location in Sacramento.

Hot Diggity Dogg:  Hot dog cart that serves delicious hot dogs in downtown Sacramento, by friendly people.  Natural hot dog casings that "snap" when you bite into them... good dogs!

Hot Doggin' at Cal Expo 2012:  I spend two pleasant July day sat the California State Fair eating hot dogs, barbecue, soul food, deep fried vegies, and more...

Delta King Pilothouse Restaurant:  Features a breathtaking view of the Sacramento River, as you enjoy a wonderful meal, outside, on the deck, in historic, "Old Town," Sacramento.

Rivers Edge Café:  I'm a participant in the Father's Day, "Big Daddy Burger Eating Challenge," and enjoy a delicious burger, and pit my eating skills against four worthy opponents.

Brookfield's Restaurant:  Locally owned and family operated.  Great food, great staff, and a great place to dine with friends.  Madison Ave. location in suburban Sacramento.

Coco's Bakery Restaurant:  Features family-friendly dining, friendly staff, and elegant food, at an affordable price... making Coco's a favorite restaurant for retired telephone company employees. Citrus Heights location

Panera Bread:  Features fresh, in-house baked bread, delicious sandwiches, salads and soup, and it's a comfortable WiFi hotspot to boot!  El Camino location in suburban Sacramento.  

Sam's Hof Brau:  Good food, great coffee, friendly folks... you won't leave this restaurant hungry, and your wallet won't feel a huge dent.  A premiere hof brau in Sacramento.

The Terrace:  Features delicious, California Cuisine, family-friendly indoor dining, and elegant patio dining.  The staff is great, and the food is even better!  Town and Country Center, Sacramento.

Lyon's Restaurant:  Yes, the cuisine is delicious, filling, and very predictable, but, it's Lyon's and Lyon's Restaurant serves great food!  Folsom Blvd. location in Sacramento.

Pignotti's:  Located in the wine garden, this restaurant features delicious, fresh, fruit plates, pasta, sliders and lots more.  Delicious and healthy food, served by friendly staff every year at Cal Expo.

Grinders:  Delicious hot and cold sandwiches, salads and more, served inside the Cal Expo County Building by friend staff, make this restaurant a "winner" in every respect.

Big Bear BBQ:  Features delicious barbecue smoked over oak logs, including tri tip, "caveman" turkey legs and lots of chickens.  Great barbecue and friendly people near the cattle barn, at Cal Expo.

Reno's Fish & Chips, Inc.:  Delicious fish and chips, seafood, fish tacos, and a whole lot more.  The friendliest staff that I've ever seen during my visits to Cal Expo!  A must-eat-at restaurant...

Juicy's LLC:  Home of the "Giant Western Sausage," and it's truly a giant, as it's a foot long, with a soft, chewey bun to match.  It's a great hot dog at Cal Expo!

Monterey Bay Seafood:  Deep fried shrimp, seafood, coams, catfish, salmon, crawfish, calamari, vegetables and more... I go "vegan," and enjoy a deep fried vegetable plate at the 2013 Cal Expo in Sacramento.

Chick-Fil-A, Alta Arden Sacramento:  Serves delicious peppermint milkshakes during the month of December, along with the usual, delicious offerings at this friendly restaurant chain.  Arden-Arcade location in Sacramento.

Subway Store #45749 Sacramento:  Opened in October, 2012, close to work, and features fresh, delicious and typical Subway sandwiches, made to order by friendly staff.  On Watt Ave., in Sacramento.

Wendy's:  Close to work, open long hours, and features many menu selections that are surprisingly good, low in calories, and nutritious.  Suburban Sacramento.

Panda Express:  This very busy restaurant serves delicious, fresh Chinese food, and you get to choose exactly what you want to eat.  This location at the corner of Marconi and Eastern in Sacramento, is recommended.

Gatsby's Diner:  Features, "American comfort food with a twist..." Well said!  ... Straight from their web site... Great burgers, great people... dare I say... an open kitchen?  Arden-Arcade area in suburban Sacramento.

Sam's Sub Shop:  Features screamin' good sandwiches, made from super fresh ingredients... made right in front of you by a very friendly wait and kitchen staff.  By the automalls on Fulton Ave., in Sacramento.

Flaming Grill Café:  Offers a wide selection of burgers, sandwiches and melts, many with exotic meat such as antelope, buffalo, llama, yak, wild boar, or ostrich.  El Camino Ave., in suburban Sacramento.

Mecca Club:  Friendly, local, "dive bar," that offers free breakfast when you purchase drinks.  A great way to get your day started...

Broderick Restaurant and Bar:  "Cheers-like" atmosphere, $2.00 draught beers, friendly people, and home to the award-winning "Johnny Cash" burger.

O'Mally's Irish Pub:  Many varieties of Irish beer on tap, friendly service, great pub atmosphere and lots of good "Irish pub grub," including Irish Tacos!  Have you ever enjoyed an Irish Taco?  Check it out...

El Parian Taqueria:  Featues delicious food, served at very reasonable prices, from some of the friendliest folks you'll ever meet.  Located on Watt Ave., just south of McClellan Park.  

Garcia's Mexican Restaurant:  Considered by many Sacramentans to be one of the finest Mexican restaurant in town, Garcia's features delicious food, fast and friendly service, served in elegant surroundings.

La Fiesta Taqueria:  Serves authentic Mexican cusine in beautiful Folsom, and offers menudo on weekends.

Hot Dog Island:  Combine quality ingredients, delicious hot dogs, great selection of condiments, an exotic location, and the friendlist hot dog server known to mankind, and you've got a delicious hot dog restaurant!

Heavenly Dog:  Family owned and operated, hot dogs are prepared with loving care, premium wieners, and fresh, in-house made toppings.  Serves some of best Chicago-style hot dog that I've eaten on the West Coast.

Amy's Hot Dogs:  Delicious hot dogs... Friendly vendor...  Gorgeous location...  Friendly Amy serves delicious Jumbo Hot Dogs and more, in downtown Sacramento.

No Name Hot Dog Cart:  Located in downtown Sacramento, this propane-fired hot dog card doesn't have a name, but they certainly serve delicious foot-long hot dogs, with all the fixin's.

Emigh's Cafe:  Small hot dog stand located in front of Sacramento's premiere hardware store, Emigh Hardware, this hot dog stand serves, perhps, the best hot dogs found in Sacramento.

C & T's Restaurant:  Highway 50 roadhouse atmosphere, and a favorite of the Pollock Pines locals.  Open for breakfast and lunch, and breakfast is served anytime.  Great food and friendly people.

TJ's Roadhouse:  Located in Colfax, TJ's features rustic atmosphere, great dining, and friendly staff.  They're serious about breakfast, as breakfast is served until noon on weekdays, and until one on weekends.

Dine N Dash Cafe:  Rustic dining, friendly service, and delicious food at Dine N Dash Cafe, in the Sierra Nevada mountain town of Colfax.

Black Bear Diner:  Offers classic American "comfort food," great service, and fine dining in the small Northern California town of Gridley.

Everett and Jones Barbecue:  Rated by most affectionados of barbecue as the best barbecue joint in the East Bay, I visit their flagship store, located in Oakland's historic Jack London Square.

Taquería El Grullo:  These guys operate out of a catering truck in east Oakland, but don't let that stop you from paying them a visit if you're in the mood for delicious, inexpensive, authentic Mexican tacos, tortas, and more...

BBQ Express:  Located in Yreka, and features Texas-style barbecue; no frills, friendly staff and heavenly smells and lots of choices for the main dish and the sides.  Friendly staff!

Jalisco Cafe:  Delicious, authentic Mexican food, at a price that won't lighten your wallet; Jalisco Cafe has been voted by Eureka locals to be the best Mexican restaurant on the North Coast!  It's now closed...

Samoa Cookhouse:  Delicious food, and plenty of it, is served, logging-camp style, at the world-famous Samoa Cookhouse, located in Samoa, across Humboldt Bay from Eureka.
