Photo: The dining room is spacious, comfortable and offers a great view of the golf course. The furniture is tables, and there is a fireplace which offers cheery comfort during the cold winter. The dining room exhibits a "sports bar-like" feel, as it showcases many television screens and overlooks the scenic golf course. The Ridge Bar and Grill is located in Auburn, CA, which is situated in western Placer County, in the Sierra Nevada mountain foothills, and the dining room reflects the foothill mountain beauty of the area, and all of California's gold country. Photo: The dining room is spacious and offers comfortable and diversified seating. The fireplace is attractive and offers lots of cheery warmth on cold winter days, but on this late morning in early July, the warmth of the fireplace isn't needed! Photo: From the dining room, you can look out to the patio, the golf course and the beautiful Sierra Nevada mountain foothills. During warm weather, the inviting patio hosts an amazing dining experience. Photo: The food menu offers many "Americana" favorites, and everything is always fresh and delicious. How could you ever resist a burger or a sandwich? Food is offered from 11:00 each morning until 04:00 in the afternoon when the restaurant closes. Photo: The bar menu offers cocktails, beer and wine and is ready to serve, anytime the restaurant is open. I went with a pitcher of draft Coors Light beer. Photo: Meet Debi, the friendly manager of the restaurant, who brought me a pitcher of beer, and a frosted glass, with a smile. Photo: On this late Thursday afternoon in early July, patio dining was perfect at The Ridge Bar and Grill. The huge patio looks over the golf course and offers comfortable dining and an amazing view. Photo: When you dine on the patio, you are treated to a million dollar view of the scenic golf course. Photo: My amazingly friendly hostess, Kate, brings my appetizer of "Kettle Chips" to me with a smile. Photo: "Kettle Chips," a pitcher of Coors Light beer, and the amazing scenery of The Ridge Golf Course... what could be better to enjoy? Photo: From the "Starters" section of the menu, I began my lunch with an order of "Kettle Chips." This was truly the way a way to start today's lunch! The menu describes the "Kettle Chips" as "Sliced Russets tossed in Parmesan cheese with chipotle lime aioli." Such a simple description for a delicious appetizer... The Russet potato chips were thinly cut, seasoned, and deep fried to perfection. Surprise... skin was left on the potato chips which added an "earthy" goodness and texture. The chips were tossed with shredded Parmesan cheese with diced parsley, which made for a combination to die for... or better yet, to live for... The "Aioli" sauce made for perfect dipping for the chips, as it was tangy, seasoned, and had the perfect touch of garlic, and it made such a great addition to this wonderful appetiser. Photo: Meet Kate, my amazingly friendly hostess to brought my delicious lunch to me with a smile. She treated me like a rock star, and provided both friendly and efficient service. Photo: I'm a happy guy, as I have a delicious lunch and a pitcher of beer to enjoy. Thanks, Kate, for taking my photo. Photo: "Kettle Chips," with "Pastrami Reuben Sandwich," along with a pitcher of Coors Light beer. What a perfect lunch! The Ridge Bar and Grill, located in Auburn, CA serves an amazing lunch every day of the week. Photo: From the "From The Grill" section of the menu, I went with a "Pastrami Reuben Sandwich," and "House Fries" as my side dish of choice. The menu describes this amazing sandwich as, "Swiss cheese, sauerkraut, 1000 Island dressing, on a grilled marble rye bread. I describe this sandwich as simply delicious. Where do I begin to describe the goodness of this sandwich? Alright... with the pastrami, grilled to perfection, tender and juicy. Ridge does not skimp on the meat, as there was lots of pastrami on the sandwich. The rye bread was grilled, buttered and toasted perfectly, which made for a great foundation for the meat. Perfectly melted Swill cheese complemented the pastrami, along with sauerkrat - oh my! - and "Thousand Island Dressing" to complete the sandwich. Like a perfect burger, the combination of meat, bread, sides and dressing worked wonderfully, and the meat-to-bread radio worked out perfectly. How many ways can I say this Rueben sandwich was way above "par" in every way? The "House Fries" were simply amazing, as they were not simply fries, as the fries were "loaded" with shredded Swiss cheese, diced parsley and sliced red jalapeņo slices. Loaded to perfection! The fries were grilled to perfection, as they were crispy golden brown on the outside, and tender, white and juicy on the inside. The presentation of the fries, and the entire meal, was so beautiful that I hesitated in taking a bite, as not to spoil the beauty. Almost... The small cup of ketchup was a welcome addition, as it made for a great dipping sauce for the fries... not that they needed any enhancement. One bite into the sandwich was simply "heaven," as it was so delicious! The buttered, toasted rye bread, sauerkraut, 1000 Island dressing, Swiss cheese and pastrami... what a sensation! Friendly Debi mentioned the "Pastrami Reuben Sandwich" was a favorite from the menu, and I understand, as this sandwich was simply amazing. Look no further for a delicious "Reuben Sandwich" than at The Ridge Bar and Grill...
