Hilander Restaurant is a very family-friendly restaurant in downtown Burns, that specializes in Chinese food, yet also serves American food as well. The name "Hilander" is found everywhere in the small town of Burns, as the city was named after the Scottish poet, Robert Burns. That's today's trivia, now on with the restaurant review!
Photo: Hilander Restaurant is located in downtown Burns, Oregon, which just happens to be the county seat of Harney County. Burns is a small town, with a population of around 3,000 people, yet there are many good restaurants in town, including Hilander.
Photo: It's late in the afternoon of Thursday, June 25, 2015, and at the moment, I'm the only customer in the restaurant. I like to time it that way, if possible, as the staff has more time to chit-chat and my photo-taking doesn't annoy other customers. By the time I had finished my meal the restaurant had become quite busy.
Photo; Hilander Restaurant features a very comfortable dining room. My friendly server, pours ice tea from behind the small counter, and the open door behind her provides a peek into the kitchen. The gal doing the cooking appeared to be one of the owners of the restaurant.
Photo: My friendly server, Doris, arrives with my dinner, and two varieties of dipping sauce. She was a very friendly, and efficient server, and a nice person. I left her a very good tip.
Photo: On this warm Thursday evening, I have many reasons to smile, as Doris has just served my delicious dinner, and I'm almost ready to start a second Tsingtao beer, which is one of my favorite beers. Thanks, Doris for snapping my photo!

Hilander Restaurant serves delicious Chinese food, in a very relaxed, comfortable dining room. The food is delicious, the price is right, and the staff is friendly.
