Hot Dog On A Stick is a small chain of restaurants, that serve hot dogs - you guessed it - on a stick, along with fries and lemonade.  You'll find their 20 or so locations in  malls, shopping centers and food courts, in California, Nevada, Utah and New Mexico.  In Roseville, CA, you'll find Hot Dog On A Stick at Westfield Galleria at Roseville, where you can enjoy their delicious "comfort food," on a stick.

As with all restaurant reviews I publish, I have no affiliation with the restaurant reviewed, and there is no monetary gain on my part, as I am simply a person who likes to eat, and I love to write-up, and publish my dining experiences.

Photo:  It's about 13:30 in the afternoon on Wednesday, January 04, 2023, and I'm at the Westfield Galleria at Roseville, at Hot Dog On A Stick, ready to enjoy a delicious dog or two, on a stick, along an order of fries.

Photo:  The food court is a busy place on the mall on this early afternoon at the start of January, 2023, and I was surprised at how busy it was.  No worries, as the diners were great and the food court always offers ample seating for any occasion.

It's all open seating, shared by the many restaurants around the food court.  Check out my past reviews and you'll see I'm a fan of the food court at Westfield Galleria at Roseville.  Just for grins... check out my past review of Shake Shack, which is co-located on the food court with Hot Dog On A Stick.

Photo:  The menu is posted above the counter, and it's about as basic and simple as it gets.  Dogs, fries and lemonade... that's the menu.

The format is what I call "taqueria style" as you make your selection from overhead menu, pay for it, and get a receipt.  When your order is ready, your name or your "number" will be called, and you simply pick it up at the counter.

My hostess/chef Renee simply said "Eric, here it is" when my order was ready, which was a nice, personal gesture.

Photo:  Renee dips my dogs into batter before placing them into the deep fryer.  Outstanding dogs anyway you look at it!

Photo:  One dog has been battered and deep fried to a perfect golden brown, thanks to the skills of chef Renee.

Photo:  This photo is posted on the kitchen wall in the restaurant.  You can't miss it, and it's a "priceless" photo of the way things were during the 1960's.

Photo:  Meet Renee, my amazingly friendly chef, who served me with a friendly smile.  This amazing woman ran the whole restaurant by herself, and expertly prepared my dogs and fries, along with a friendly smile and lots of great conversation.  Renee is a great chef and a nice person!

Photo:  I'm a happy "foodie," as I have two dogs, a "regular" order of fries, and two cups of ketchup to enjoy for my lunch.  Hot Dog On A Stick serves delicious food for lunch, dinner or any occasion!

Photo:  From the "Fresh Made To Order Stick Items" section of the menu, I ordered an "American Cheese," and a "Pepper Jack Cheese," along with a side of "French Fries."  I considered ordering a "Lemonade," which is the restaurant's signature drink, but I simply wasn't thirsty enough to pay the "price of admission."

How does this magic happen?  I watched Chef Renee pull two sticks out of the fridge - one American cheese and one stick Pepper Jack Cheese - place two hefty "Nathan" hot dogs around the sticks, dip them into batter, and place them into the deep fryer.  As the dogs were frying, she started my order of "French Fries," - the fries were already cut to size and ready to fry - in the deep fryer, so my order was choreographed to time out perfectly.

Five minutes later and I was privileged to enjoy the deep fried goodness of two hot dogs, along with an order of fries.  Honestly, I couldn't tell the difference between the American, and the Pepper Jack cheese versions of the hot dogs, but all I can say is that each dog was simply delicious!

As I mentioned, each dog started out with a piece of "cheese on a stick," and the dog was placed on the stick, and dipped into the batter.  Each dog was perfectly fried to a deep, golden brown, with just the right batter-to-dog ration. The batter was crispy golden brown, the cheese was "melty" and gooey, and the dog was juicy, tender and flavorful. One bite into each "dog" was an "Oh My!" moment... such great dogs!  You will enjoy an amazing dog on a stick at Hot Dog On A Stick in Roseville.

The order of "French Fries" was a great side to the dogs, and the fries were deep fried to perfection and delicious, but they weren't anything spectacular.  I highly recommend them, as how can you enjoy a dog on a stick without fries?

The "kid" in me simply used ketchup and no mustard.  What???  Yes, it happened, as I grabbed two small cups of ketchup and left the mustard on the counter.

The bottom line?  Simply delicious deep fried hot dogs on a stick, along with a very good order of fries.  What's not to LOVE about Hot Dog On A Stick?

Photo:  My perfectly deep fried, Nathan's "Dogs On a Stick," along with two cups of ketchup, at Hot Dog On A Stick at Westfield Galleria, in Roseville, CA. Simply delicious!

Photo:  Ketchup and a cross-section of a perfectly battered dog, and lots of "American" cheese... life doesn't get any better!

Photo:  Cross section of my "American Cheese" dog, on a stick, served at Dog On A Stick, located at the Westfield Galleria at Roseville.  Such a delicious mixture of deep fried batter, a fine hot dog, and melted cheese.  A "foodie" delight any way you look at it!

The hot dogs and fries are simply delicious, and the amazingly friendly, personal service I enjoyed from Chef Renee was not your typical "mall service."  When you're interested in a snack, or a full meal, look to Hot Dogs On A Stick, located at the food court, at the Westfield Galleria mall, in Roseville, CA.  Great food!
