The small, one-stoplight town of Lone Pine, located in Inyo County is known for many things, especially everything outdoors, as the area is a paradise for sportsmen, and outdoor enthusiasts.  The town is especially known as the gateway to Mt. Whitney, the tallest peak in the Lower 48, and for the Alabama Hills, where many movies have been filmed.  The town is also known for the Alabama Hills Cafe, which derives it's name from the nearby hills of the same name, and is known as one of the best breakfast restaurants in Inyo County.

As with all of my reviews, I have no affiliation with the restaurant reviewed, and there is no monetary gain on my part, as I am simply a person who likes to eat, and I love to write-up, and publish my dining experiences.

Photo:  It's 8 o'clock on Tuesday morning, May 30, 2017, and it's breakfast time at Alabama Hills Cafe.

Photo:  View of the dining room as you walk in the door.  The dining room is quite "compact," but larger than it looks in the photo, as my camera's lens wasn't wide enough to capture the entire dining room.  The restaurant features a small bakery, which sells in-house made loaves of bread and various pastries.  Daily specials are posted on the old-fashioned black board.

Photo:  I placed myself at the counter, and this is my view of the dining room, which gives a better idea of the size than the previous photo.  The dining room is clean, comfortable, and very friendly.  Alabama Hills Cafe is a favorite of the Lone Pine locals, and the many people who drive through town on US 395.  Normally this restaurant is packed at this time of the morning, but today the dining room was only about half full, and I had the counter to myself.

Photo:  A portion of the breakfast menu, which has something every taste, even for vegetarians.  I scanned the menu, but my eyes stopped on Bacon and Eggs, as that sounded fantastic on this Tuesday morning.

Photo:  My server, Cindy, helps other customers.  She didn't seem to want her photo taken - no harm in that - so I didn't take the classic "bringing the plate to you" photo that I normally take.

Photo:  By the time my breakfast arrived - about 20 minutes after placing my order - the restaurant was beginning to fill up with hungry diners.  Thanks, Cindy, for snapping my photo.

Photo:  My breakfast of bacon, eggs, hash brown potatoes, corn tortillas, and an optional bowl of gravy.  Not shown is an endless mug of coffee.  Naturally, your eggs are cooked any style, you can have either home style potatoes or hash brown, and you have a choice of tortillas, toast, biscuit or muffin.  How could I ever choose anything except for corn tortillas?

Photo:  Close-up of one of the best breakfasts to be found in Inyo County, and the Eastern Sierra.  My breakfast was cooked perfectly, and I enjoyed everything about it!  I dipped the tortillas and hash browns in the gravy... yummy!

Alabama Hills Cafe certainly lived up to it's reputation, as the breakfast I enjoyed was amazing!  If you're in the mood for one of the best breakfasts to be found in the Eastern Sierra, with a lot of local flavor, head over to Alabama Hills Cafe, in beautiful Lone Pine.
