You'll see more cowboy hats and cowboy boots on California's Central Coast than you'll see in most of Texas, and one of the most "cowboy," or in today's case, "cowgirl" places on the California coast is Paso Robles.  If you want to "cowgirl-up" and enjoy a superior, western breakfast, head for Cowgirl Cafe, in downtown Paso Robles.

Photo:  The Paso Robles location of Cowgirl Cafe, downtown.  Cowgirl Cafe is a small chain of four restaurants, located in the central coastal region of California.  If you're in the mood for an outstanding breakfast, Cowgirl Cafe is the place to go, as they're open for breakfast and lunch only.  Breakfast is served anytime, which means the restaurant is truly serious about breakfast.

Photo:  As you walk into the restaurant, you're greeted with a cowgirl statuette.  The walls are decorated with western decor, including photos of famous western movie actors, such as Clint Eastwood, Lee Marvin and John Wayne.

Photo:  On this mid-Friday morning, October 16, 2015, the dining room at Cowgirl Cafe is quite busy.  The dining room is attractive, comfortable, and features a mixture of tables and booths, which mostly line the walls.  Note the western decor on the walls, lots of it!  Cowgirl Cafe is a favorite of the Paso Robles locals.

Photo:  Our friendly server, Debbie, retrieves meals from the "window to the kitchen."  The poster above her head reads, "Cowgirls only.  Longhorns by invitation."  Paso Robles is truly a "country" town, and is the annual host to one of the finest rodeos on the west coast.

Photo:  Our friendly server, Debbie, places Sharlene's breakfast on our table; we elected to seat in a booth, next to the wall.  Note Sharlene's ice tea, which is served in an "ol' fruit jar," which is a nice touch.  I love the shirts that Debbie, and the other servers wear, as they certainly fit into the "cowgirl" theme of the restaurant.  Debbie was very pleasant, friendly, and actually encouraged my photo-taking, which is something that I love.  She's a nice person, and an outstanding server.

Photo:  I broke out of my usual breakfast protocol and ordered the "Country Scramble."  What is Cowgirl Cafe's version of a "Country Scramble?"  The base is a large, flat biscuit, with three scrambled eggs on top, and lots of cut-up sausage links.  Then gravy, lots of it.  The whole plate was swimming in thick, rich and delicious, sausage gravy. If you love gravy, this is the breakfast for you!  There is nothing more that I adore than biscuits and gravy for breakfast, so I absolutely cleaned up my plate until there was nothing left.  Delicious breakfast!

Photo:  Our friendly and gracious server, Debbie, took this photo of Sharlene and I as we are about to enjoy a superior breakfast at Cowgirl Cafe.  As I mentioned previously, Cowgirl Cafe takes breakfast seriously, as they're open for breakfast and lunch only, and breakfast is served any time the restaurant is open.

Delicious food, friendly servers, western, "cowgirl" atmosphere, and large portions.... If you're in the mood for a delicious breakfast, you need to "cowgirl-up" and head to Cowgirl Cafe, in downtown Paso Robles.  You'll love their breakfast.
