Tacos Apson is a restaurant that I just HAD to visit, as I'd read many rave reviews about this restaurant on Yelp.com, and I wanted to see if they are as good as many of the "Yelpers" claimed they are.  Read on...

Photo:  Tacos Apson is located inside of what appears to be a former diner, and features both indoor and outdoor seating.  Don't you just love the funky guitar logo on the sign?  What's up with that?  The date is late Monday afternoon, April 28, 2014.

Photo:  Thanks to the mild climate that Tucson enjoys, Tacos Apson offers comfortable patio dining.  Hot dogs are cooked outdoors on the patio.  Funny, as I wasn't in the mood for a hot dog on this late Monday afternoon.

Photo:  Tacos Apson is housed in a former diner, and has a long counter, with stools for seating, and room for little else, as the room is long and narrow.  Note the menu posted above the counter, which closely mirrors their web site. During the time of my visit, there two gentlemen working the restaurant, and they were very busy, filling orders for dine-in customers, and take-out orders, as the phone was constantly ringing.  Since the restaurant was so busy, I took few photos, as I really didn't wan to get in the way.

Photo:  Menu, posted outdoors, gives an idea of the great food offered by this fine restaurant.  As I write this article, why didn't I order a "Taco Chino," as posted on the menu?  What in the blazes is a "Chinese Taco?"  "Taco Gringo" has my attention too... Guess I'll just have to go back and give it a try, and post it during my next visit to Tucson...

Photo:  The small salsa/condiment bar is well equipped, and full of fresh, in-house made condiments.  I went for the salsa cruda and he guacamole, as I'm a fan of guacamole, and never pass it up.

Photo:  Tacos Apson has a barbecue pit, inside the restaurant!  The kitchen is open from the counter, where you can smell the meat being cooked, and watch the staff at work. Note the griddle where corn tortillas are toasting.  Such a fine restaurant!

Photo:  My dinner of two delicious tacos de Carne Asada.  The carne asada was grilled to perfection, and placed on two perfectly toasted corn tortillas. From the condiment bar, I opted for salsa cruda, guacamole, and a couple of slices of key lime to finish off the tacos.  I can't say that Tacos Apson produces the best tacos in Tucson, but I can say the tacos are out-of-this-world delicious, and if you love tacos, Tacos Apson is a destination of choice.

I don't know if Tacos Apson produces the best tacos in Tucson - does such a title even exist? - but I CAN say the tacos were delicious, ditto about the fresh condiments, and Tacos Apson is a restaurant that I would recommend anytime, to anybody.  You can't go wrong at this great restaurant!
