Smashburger is a chain of restaurants specializing in quality fast-casual burgers, with stores - as of this writing - in 34 states and two Canadian provinces.  Snashburger came to Roseville, CA early this January... but it's mid-July, and I've finally been able to pay them a visit.  Man... was I LONG overdue!

As with all restaurant reviews I publish, I have no affiliation with the restaurant reviewed, and there is no monetary gain on my part, as I am simply a person who likes to eat, and I love to write-up, and publish my dining experiences.

Photo:  It's right at the 10:30 in the morning opening time, July 13, 2022, and I've arrived at Smashburger, located in Roseville, CA.  The restaurant is located about a mile from my place, and has been open - at the time of this writing - for nearly six months, but today is my first time to visit, and enjoy their fine burger cuisine.

Photo:  As you enter the restaurant, you'll be greeted by a friendly hostess, and you'll notice the large video menu, and the open kitchen in back of the counter.  You place your order from the video menu, or from the restaurant's website, as there aren't any printed menus.

For dine-in customers, Smashburger operates on what I refer to as the "taqueria format."  You walk into the restaurant, and look at the posted, overhead menu and choose what you want to enjoy.  You place your order at the counter, pay for it, and in return, you'll receive a number to place on your table.  You choose any open table, and when your order is ready, a staff member will bring your order to you, and retrieve your number, with a friendly smile.

If you're ordering "to-go," you simply place your order over the phone, or on the restaurant's website, and your order will be ready for you when you arrive.

Photo:  The dining room is large, spacious, clean and very comfortable.  There is lots of natural lighting from the many windows, which made taking photos a snap.  The furniture is mostly tables, with booths around the walls. For those who enjoy Coca Cola products, there is an all-you-can-drink soft drink station for your pleasure, when you purchase a "bottomless" cup.

Photo:  Should you enjoy dining outside, the restaurant features an outdoor patio, but it's not covered and was a little too warm on this 90+ degree morning in mid-July.  To comply with state law, so you can enjoy an "adult beverage" outside, there is a small fence to separate you from the outside world.  That's busy Blue Oaks Blvd. in the background.

Photo:  The  menu is posted above the cashier's station, as you enter the restaurant, and is easy to see.  Yes, you see that correct, as "Beers and Seltzers" are listed on the menu, and there are a few beers on tap.

Photo:  There are several large in the dining room which were turned to basketball during my visit.  Below each monitor there was a bookshelf, with hardcover books about burgers.  I'm not sure if the books were simply decoration or something you could read while you wait for your order to arrive... whatever the case, they added a nice touch to this fine restaurant, who is serious about serving quality burgers!

Photo:  Here's something that I'd never seen before in a burger restaurant:  An AC outlet, along with USB ports, to charge your phone or other mobile device.  These outlets were located on the lower perimeter walls, and were spaced at one outlet for every other booth.  Such a nice touch!

Photo:  The kitchen is open, so you can watch the talented kitchen team perform their magic, and watch them "smash" your burger to perfection.

Photo:  My friendly hostess, Jessica, picks up my burger and fries from the open kitchen, ready to deliver to my table.  Note the beer taps to the right, as the restaurant offers a small selection of beer on tap.

Photo:  Meet Jessica, my amazingly friendly server who brought my order to me in less than 15 minutes after I'd placed it.  Smashburger is a "fast-casual" burger restaurant, and each order is cooked-to-order, when ordered, and not prepared in advance, so you're guaranteed to enjoy a fresh, delicious meal at this fine restaurant.

Photo:  I'm a happy guy, as I'm ready to enjoy a "Classic Smash Burger," an side of crispy "French Fries," along with a Coors Lite beer for dessert.

Photo:  From the "Signature Smash" section of the burger menu, I went with a "Classic Smash Burger" along with an order of "French Fries."  The menu describes the burger as, "Angus beef, American cheese, lettuce, tomatoes, red onions, pickles, "Smash Sauce," ketchup and toasted bun." The goes on to state that the beef was fresh, and had never been frozen.  Frozen beef makes for a poor burger!  I ordered a couple cups of "Ranch" dressing, which were on the house, to dip my fries into.

The burger started out with a fresh, never-frozen 100% Angus beef patty, seasoned, and grilled to perfection.  My friendly hostess didn't ask how I wanted my meat cooked - it arrived medium - but I'm sure if I would have wanted it grilled differently all I would have had to do is ask.  Like 98.5% of the burger lovers in the world, I love my meat grilled medium, so I was a happy burger lover!  The meat patty was covered with a slice of American cheese, which was melted perfectly.

The meat was placed on a large, fresh, toasted artisan bun, which provided the perfect meat-to-bun ratio, which is crucial to elevate the burger to the top-shelf.  Between the bun and the meat were fresh lettuce, tomato, red onion along with dill pickle slices.  I ordered my "Classic Smash Burger" straight from the menu, so it included ketchup - which I normally avoid directly on a burger - and "Smash Sauce," which is "smash speak" for Thousand Island dressing.

The "French Fries" were thin, on the crispy side, lightly salted, and had some bits of skin left on them, which is a good thing in my "book."  The fries were very good, and made an outstanding side to the burger, but were not particularly memorable.

One bite into my "Classic Smash Burger" made a believer out of me, and made all things good in my world.  The meat was juicy, tender and flavorful, and the slightly gooey, melted cheese added a smooth touch.  The fresh veggies gave a satisfying "crunch" and the delicious artisan bun held it all together.  I must add the bun, meat and cheese were warm, while the veggies, sauce and ketchup were chilled... the combination of warm and chilled adds a whole amazing dimension to a top-notch burger, and Smashburger has nailed the "top-notch" burger category!

Photo: My "Classic Smash Burger" and my order of "French Fries" arrived on a basket, with food-grade "Smash Burger" paper to serve as the "plate" and to hold it all together.  It truly made for a unique presentation. Smashburger serves a delicious, quality burger, any way you look at it.

All good things you've heard about Smashburger are true, as the burger was "smashing" delicious, perfectly cooked and made a believer out of me.  The fries were delicious, the beer was cold, and the service was fast and super friendly.

Smashburger has made their "smash" in Roseville, CA, and for this burger lover, the restaurant is a "smashing" success!
