Red's Country Kitchen is the newest restaurant - as of this writing - to serve "Americana" cuisine in the heart of downtown Lincoln, CA.  Red's may be new, but Lincoln locals who appreciate fine food will remember this fine restaurant as Kim's Country Kitchen.

As with all restaurant reviews I publish, I have no affiliation with the restaurant reviewed, and there is no monetary gain on my part, as I am simply a person who likes to eat, and I love to write-up, and publish my dining experiences.

Photo:  It's a little past the 07:00 morning opening time, Wednesday, January 17, 2024, and I've arrived at Red's Country Kitchen, located in downtown Lincoln, CA. The restaurant is located on Lincoln Blvd., formerly known as "G" St., and is a favorite hangout of Lincoln locals who appreciate a great breakfast and friendly service.

Photo:  As you enter the restaurant, you'll be greeted by a friendly staff member, and you'll enjoy perhaps the most "funky" decor of any restaurant in Placer County.  I've posted reviews on over 200 restaurants in Placer County and, so far, Red's tops my list for the most creative, innovative, and... may I say funky? ... decor in Placer County.

When I say "funky," I'm talking about mounted animals, antiques, lanterns, a boat, a canoe, tools and countless vintage photos of the area.  The decor definitely adds to the charm, the atmosphere and the great food served at this fine diner.

If the atmosphere looks familiar, Red's Country Kitchen took over from Kim's Country Kitchen, back in November of 2023.  The only things that have changed are the menu and the "branding" signage.  Most of the employees from the "Kim days" remain.  This is truly a remarkable restaurant.

Photo:  Meet Kim Morales, the former owner of the restaurant, who presents me with a special breakfast of prime rib and eggs.  The time is 07:30 and the date is Friday, August 09, 2019.

When Kim owned the restaurant, known at the time as Kim's Country Kitchen, Friday was prime rib day, with prime rib and eggs being served for breakfast and lunch.  I must admit that I miss enjoying prime rib at Kim's...

No worries, as very little has changed since Red's came to town, and the restaurant continues to be a local gathering spot, a "foodie" favorite, and a hangout for Lincoln locals.

Photo:  The dining room features a large table with about a dozen seats, which is perfect for local gatherings.  Red's is a favorite gathering for groups of Lincoln locals and for local service organizations, such as the local Lions and Rotary clubs.

I noticed the branding in the restaurant, which looked familiar, and I asked my hostess if Red owned a pizza restaurant in Rocklin.  Yes... Red's Pizzeria and Taphouse, located in nearby Rocklin is co-owned, and shares similar signage.  Check out my dining adventure to Red's Pizzeria and Taphouse back on Saturday, January 29, 2022 by clicking on the link.

The white haired gentleman in the center of the photo is a local, and has been with the restaurant for many years and is a "volunteer," as he's not on the payroll.  He's carried on from the previous ownership as an ambassador and great person to talk to, but he isn't on the payroll, and as he puts it, "I'm here for something to do."  He seems to work for coffee and simply for the enjoyment of the company of fellow "foodies."  Why haven't I ever got his name? Next visit...

Photo:  One page of the breakfast menu.  Breakfast menu is three pages, and features everything a breakfast lover - like me - could ever dream of.

Photo:  My friendly hostess, Kim, checks orders at the kitchen window.  She was the only server on duty this morning, and was very busy, but she provided personal and efficient service.  Look past the large table in the center of the dining room, which seats a dozen or more, and you get a peek into the kitchen.

Photo:  Mr. Mule Deer and Mr. Buffalo adorn the wall, along with models of pioneer wagons, bird houses and more. Mule deer are native to Placer County but buffalo aren't, so I wonder how this guy ended up on the wall.

Photo:  The kitchen isn't really open to view, but you can take a peek through an open door and watch the talented chef creating his magic.

Photo:  Each seat at the breakfast bar is adorned with all of the condiments that make any meal worthwhile.  I especially enjoyed the bottle of "Cholula" Mexican hot sauce, which is one of my favorites.

Photo:  Meet Kim, my friendly hostess who brought my breakfast to me with a smile.  She was a busy lady, as she was working the entire dining room, but she always seemed to find time to chit-chat and provide great service.

Photo:  I'm a happy diner, as I prepare to enjoy "The Breakfast Special" on this early Wednesday morning.  "The Breakfast Special," or also known as "The Breakfast Platter" is served weekday mornings from opening until 11:00. Come and get it!!

Photo:  "The Breakfast Platter," is a weekday special, offered from 07:00 until 11:00, weekday mornings for the great price of $8.99.  It's also known as "The Breakfast Special..." but what's in a name?  Your breakfast includes two eggs cooked to your request, a slab of hashbrowns, and your choice of toast.  What's not to love about a breakfast like this?

I ordered my two eggs fried sunnyside up, and thanks to the talent of the chef, my eggs arrived perfectly fried to my order.

The slab of hash brown potatoes... WOW!  I enjoyed a generous slab of hash brown potatoes, which were perfectly grilled to a almost-crunchy, crispy golden brown on the outside, yet tender, juicy and white on the inside.  Trust me if you're a lover of hashbrowns... these hashbrowns made my Wednesday, as the contrast between the crispy crust on the outside and the tender juiciness inside made for amazing contrast, and a delightful hashbrown dining experience!  Red's Country Kitchen didn't disappoint, as the hash browns were as good as it gets.

The one slice of toast - sourdough - which was my choice of toast, was toasted perfectly, cut in half, and coated with melted butter.  My kind of toast...

I confess that I did add a bit of Cholula Mexican hot sauce from the bottle on the counter, as I'm a total fan of hot sauce on my eggs and potatoes, unless I order a side of gravy.  The hot sauce simply enhanced my meal, as my breakfast was "stand alone" delicious any way you look at it.  Oh yeah... a little salt and pepper on the eggs...

Your weekday morning, and most likely your whole day will be complete when you begin your day with "The Breakfast Platter" at Red's Country Kitchen.  The price is right, the portion size is perfect, and the meal is delicious.

For all Placer County "foodies" who appreciate delicious, "old school" diner cuisine, Red's Country Kitchen has your breakfast and lunch cravings covered every day of the week.  For amazing food, just like mom used to make, head over to Red's Country Kitchen, located in downtown Lincoln, CA.
