The word "Eureka" appears on the state motto of California, and is derived from the Greek phrase, "I have found it!" Are you looking for an outstanding dining experience, especially for one of the best burgers in Placer County? If you're looking for delicious "Americana style" cuisine," you've "found it," at Eureka! located in Roseville, CA. As with all restaurant reviews I publish, I have no affiliation with the restaurant reviewed, and there is no monetary gain on my part, as I am simply a person who likes to eat, and I love to write-up, and publish my dining experiences. Photo: I've found fine "Americana" cuisine at Eureka!, located in Roseville, CA. It's just before the 11:00 in the morning opening time on Monday, November 28, 2022, and I've arrived to enjoy an amazing lunch, and super friendly service. The Roseville Eureka! is a link in a chain of about a dozen restaurants in California, and a few others scattered over the western US. Eureka! is co-anchored in the same building as the small Mexico City based chain La Popular, which I "opened up" just last week. La Popular and Eureka! share the same ownership, the building and the kitchen, but the cuisines are different. Photo: As you enter Eureka! you'll be greeted by a friendly staff member who will seat you at the table of your choice. On this Monday morning, the patio was my choice, but the bar was welcoming. Photo: After you're "greeted," the first thing you'll notice is the full service bar which is the centerpiece of the dining room, and is the center attraction. Most of the bar seating is inside, but there is patio seating outside, should you prefer to enjoy your lunch or dinner outside on the patio, during agreeable weather. Photo: The dining room is quite... shall we describe? ... "modern American?" and spacious, and decorated very contemporary. The dining room centers around the bar. Photo: On this sunny, 45-degree morning, I chose to enjoy my lunch outside on the patio, as the sun was shining and there was no wind. Note the fire pit at the center of the patio, which provided cheery flame and much-needed heat. The patio is made comfortable during cool weather, thanks to overhead heaters. Photo: The food menu at Eureka! I had a difficult choice between a burger or fish, but after a careful analysis, I went with "Eureka! American" burger. Photo: Meet my amazingly friendly hostess, Leah, who brings an "26th Anniversary Imperial IPA" to me from the "13 OZ Rotator" menu. Photo: "Rotating" beer menu is posted just above the bar. Local craft beer is always on tap, and the menu changes. Photo: From the "Beer" menu, I went with an "26th Anniversary Imperial IPA" beer, which is brewed in Escondido, San Diego county, which is something like 500+ miles south of Roseville. Complimentary ice water, served in an "ol' fruit jar" was amazing, and added to the ambience. Cheers! Photo: The full-service bar extends to the patio when weather permits, and you can enjoy your meal at the bar, at your choosing. There are many television screens which, at the time of my visit were showcasing a soccer game -- not my game of choice - but the atmosphere is cheery and "sports like" any way you look at it. The atmosphere at the bar is great, any way you look at it. Photo: My friendly hostess, Leah, takes orders from two diners seated next to me. Note the open flame fire pit, which is at the center of the patio. Photo: Just a little thing on the table, which makes me think of fish and chips for my next visit. Photo: Meet Jonna, my amazingly friendly server, who brought my "Eureka! American" burger, with "Signature Fries." to my table on the patio, with a smile. Jonna, along with her manager, Michael, who welcomed me, are Photo: Thanks, Jonna for taking my photo, at my request, as I'm a happy guy, as I get ready to enjoy one of the best burgers and fries in Roseville. Photo: From the "Burgers" section of the menu, I started with out at the top, and ordered an "Eureka! American" burger, with "Signature Fries." I requested ketchup and ranch dressing on the side, and it was provided to me, "on the house." The menu describes the "Eureka! American" as, "American Swiss, grilled onion, butter lettuce, tomatoes, house pickles and special sauce." My description? ... one of the tastiest cheeseburgers that I enjoyed at during my countless "foodie" expeditions in western Placer County! The burger started with, as the menu describes as a "Santa Carota carrot-fed Angus beef" with a large, probably about a half-pound of beef cooked medium, at my request, thanks to my friendly hostess, Leah. By the way, Eureka! will prepare your meat to your choice; your host will ask you the preference as your order. The beef - at the heart of the meal - was seasoned to perfection, perfectly cooked and... may I say? ... Perfect. The meat was placed on a buttered, toasted brioche bun, which made for a delicious foundation to the "Eureka! American" burger. Well... not exactly, lettuce and tomato slices anchored the beef - quite unusual for a burger - and the beef was placed on top of the bun, lettuce and tomato. The burger patty was topped a thick slice of what the menu described as "American Swiss cheese." Whatever the case, the cheese was melted perfectly to the burger patty, and the taste sensation was simply amazing. Alright... here it goes... the meat and cheese was topped with a red onion slice that sported grill marks. Can you believe that? How many times do you see a slice of red onion with grill marks? "House Sauce" was basically "Thousand Island Dressing," which wasn't particularly special. However... no ranch dressing, ketchup of mustard was need to enhance the "Eureka! American" burger, as the first bite into this amazing burger transported me to "burger heaven." I requested ketchup - which brings out the "kid" in me - along which ranch dressing, on the side, which was included, on the side, in two small cups, with my delicious lunch. Ketchup and ranch dressing was simply dipping for the fries, as the burger was "stand alone" amazing... The burger came with "Signature Fries," which made for a perfect side dish to this amazing burger. The fries were peeled and sliced - diner drive-in 1960's style - and fried to a prefect light golden brown on the outside, yet tender and white inside. Delicious! Sliced parsley topped the fries, which added to the taste and the presentation. Delicious deep fried to a very light golden brown on the outside and slightly "crispy," yet tender, juicy and white inside. As the old saying goes, "Come for the burger, but stay for the fries..." As the Greek word "eureka" implies, at Eureka!, I've "found it," when it comes to an amazing burger and fries. Photo: "Eureka! American" burger, with "Signature Fries." and a closer look, along with the lettuce, tomato and amazing slice of grilled red onion on top. It's hard to find a better burger anywhere then at Eureka!, located in Roseville, CA. The patio dining was simply divine on this late morning in late November - thanks to the sunny and dry weather - and the cuisine I enjoyed, along with the friendly and efficient service made dining at Eureka! an absolute treat! Simply fine dining, any way you look at it... Eureka! serves quality food, delivered by friendly, efficient staff. You've "found it" at Eureka!, located in Roseville, CA. Eureka!
