Dog Haus Biergarten is the type of restaurant that's been long overdue to the dining scene of west Roseville, CA. Dog Haus Biergarten serves delicious hot dogs, sausages, burgers and sides and a lot more, which is followed up and enhanced by a wide array of craft beer and more... on tap! Just what I've been looking for! As with all restaurant reviews I publish, I have no affiliation with the restaurant reviewed, and there is no monetary gain on my part, as I am simply a person who likes to eat, and I love to write-up, and publish my dining experiences. Photo: It's 10:00 in the morning, Thursday, March 23, 2023, and Dog Haus Biergarten is now OPEN! Right now is the GRAND OPENING of this fine restaurant, today in west Roseville! I've been watching this restaurant taking shape over the last six weeks or so, and I've been anticipating the opening, as there is nothing that I love better in this world than beer and hot dogs. Back on February 4th of this year, I noticed the restaurant taking shape, and I snapped a few photos. Click ON THIS LINK to see Dog Haus Biergarten under construction. The restaurant offers outdoor, patio dining facing Blue Oaks Blvd., but on this on-and-off rainy morning in March, outdoor dining didn't seem to be a good option. Photo: As you enter the restaurant, you'll notice the order counter, with the menu posted above the order counter. Dog Haus Biergarten operates with what I lovingly labile as the "taqueria format," where you make your selection from the overhead menu, you pay for your order, and in return, you'll receive a "number." You choose your seating - seat at any open spot - and when your order is ready, it will be brought to your table by one of the friendly staff members. Like most restaurants in 2023, Dog Haus Biergarten offers ordering by telephone and online, and delivery is offered through third parties. Photo: I walked into the restaurant at EXACTLY the 10 O’clock opening time, of Thursday, March 23, 2023, the FIRST day of the restaurant. What an honor! I was warmly greeted by the amazingly friendly staff, and presented with the "Number ONE" as the first patron of the new restaurant. I must confess that today wasn't exactly a coincidence or a "lucky break," as I've been keeping my eye on this restaurant keeping shape, and I'd actually stumbled into a pre-opening staff meeting a few days prior to the opening. Whatever the case, I've been looking forward... Photo: The bar, complete with over 20 varieties of beer on tap is the centerpiece of the restaurant. There is lots of comfortable seating, as the floor plan is open. Photo: The dining room offers lots of comfortable, open seating, and is bright and cheerful, thanks to the many windows that offer natural lighting. There are television monitors tuned to sports, which lends a "sports bar like" feeling to the dining room and the restaurant. Photo: Each table is set with a bottle of mustard, ketchup and napkins. Posters on the wall showcase the pork and beef products on the menu. Photo: The food section of the menu begins with "DOGS," which is the signature dish that Dog Haus offers, followed by "Sausages" and "Burgers," with "Sliders" and a few offerings of chicken. Click on the image or THIS LINK to see the complete menu of the Roseville location of Dog Haus. Photo: Today... the menu lists 24 beers... and counting. The menu offers "mainstream" and craft beers, along with micro brews indigenous to the NorCal area. Note the menu offers a couple selections from Monk's Cellar, a Roseville local restaurant and micro brewery. By sheer coincidence, I visited Monk's Cellar just last week! Photo: Meet Mr. Anthony Amerio, the friendly owner of Dog Haus Biergarten, who poses with a very friendly customer, who was one of the first to "open up" the restaurant. Yep... Dog Haus is a chain, and Anthony owns the franchise is west Roseville. This fine restaurant fills a void in the dining scene of west Roseville, as it offers many beers on tap, great "pub grub" and friendly service. Photo: Meet Melanie, my friendly and favorite bartendress, who presents me with a 20-oz mug of Coors beer for me to enjoy on this late Thursday morning. Melanie was super friendly and welcoming, and proved to be a superior hostess and an amazing asset to this fine restaurant. Photo: Cheers! I toast my hostess Melanie along with the great food, atmosphere and staff at Dog Haus Biergarten, located in west Roseville. Photo: The bar highlights a small menu for "Happy Hour" favorites. I'm interested! Photo: Meet Alyissa, my friendly hostess, who delivered my me to me with a friendly smile. Like all the staff of Dog Haus Biergarten she was friendly, and treated me like a member of her family. Photo: Such an amazing lunch of a large mug of beer, "The Fonz" sausage sandwich, along with "Chili Cheese Tots" and a "Sooo Cali" hot dog, complete with avocado. Does life get any better? Photo: My delicious lunch of a "Sooo Cali" dog, a "The Fonz" sausage, along with a side of "Chili Cheese Tots." Yes, this was enough "lunch" to fill me up for the rest of the day! Naturally my lunch included a liter of Coors beer, on tap, from the bar... how could I resist? Photo: I started at the top of the "DOGS" menu and went with a "Sooo Cali" dog. The menu describes this delicious hot dog as, "Wild arugula, avocado, tomato, crispy onions and spicy basil aioli." I simply describe this amazing hot dog as DELICIOUS! Like all choices listed on the "DOGS" section of the menu, my "Sooo Cali" dog started with a large, grilled premium hot dog - maybe a quarter pound - that the menu describes as "hormone and antibiotic free, with no added nitrates. The dog was perfectly grilled, juicy and "snapped" when I bit into it, thanks to the natural casing. This was truly a premium dog and such a great dog to enjoy! The Kings Hawaiian Roll was perfectly grilled and maybe basted with butter, or was it the spicy basil aioli? I must comment the roll differed from any hot dog that I've enjoyed before, as it was actually three Hawaiian Kings Rolls spliced together, grilled, and basted with the delicious basil aioli. This wasn't your "dad's" hot dog roll, as it was definitely on the sweet side, which worked great with the spicy basil aioli and the juicy meat. Added to all of this goodness was the avocado, arugula, tomato and crispy diced onion. Anyway you look at it, the "Sooo Cali" dog is an amazing "dog," as it would pretty much be a mascot of California when it comes to a hot dog, as Cali is noted for avocado, and innovation when it comes to food, and hot dogs. Mustard and ketchup are offered on the side, but no "enhancements" were needed for this amazing hot dog, as it was "stand alone" delicious by itself. Photo: "The Fonz" is the first listing on the "SAUSAGES" side of the menu, so for me, that was the place to start. Amazing sausage sandwich! The menu describes "The Fonz" as, "Spicy Italian, pastrami, and mozzarella cheese." Between the juicy sausage, the fresh ingredients and the "Hawaiian" roll, I simply describe this sausage sandwich as DELICIOUS! How could anybody resist ordering a sausage with a name of "The Fonz?" OK... maybe I'm dating myself, but when it comes to a delicious Italian sausage, you can always count me in... "The Fonz" highlighted a large, around a quarter pound Italian sausage, on the sweet side. It wasn't spicy hot, as it was on the sweet side of "the fence," flavorful, juicy and with an amazing natural casing that "crunched" when I bit into it. Like the hot dog, "Fonz" was presented on a toasted King's Hawaiian Roll - all three of them together - which added to the "sweetness" and slightly salty side to the sausage. Kind of like many of the bacon-wrapped hot dogs I've enjoyed during many trips to Mexico, the sausage was wrapped in thin layers of pastrami, which added "character" and a layer or two of depth of flavor. To top it off, the sandwich was simply COVERED in melted mozzarella cheese. Oh my... I could make a meal out of this any day of the week! How could you ever resist this amazing dog, with LOTS of gooey, melted mozzarella cheese? This "dog," or "sausage sandwich," whatever you care to call it, was simply delicious! Photo: No meal is complete without a side dish, so from the "ON THE SIDES" section, I went with "Chili Cheese Tots," so I could truly enjoy some fine Dog Haus "side" cuisine to enjoy with my dog and sausage. "Chili Cheese Tots" starts out with a generous portion of deep fried tator tots, coated with melted, American cheese, and covered with "Haus" chili and diced green onion. The menu lists this as a "Side" dish, but actually this amazing dish could be a complete lunch, as it's robust and filling! The tots were perfectly deep fried, the cheese was melted "just right" and there was enough chili - delicious, and on the mild side - to add just enough "meat" to the dish to make totally filling, and the fresh, green onions added a little "crunch" and just enough spice to give this fine dish character. I simply went absolutely CRAZY over the deep fried tots, the flavorful chili, the diced green onion and the delicious, perfectly melted American cheese! "Chili Cheese Tots" made for the perfect side dish. Photo: One bite into "The Fonz" and you know that you're enjoying a premium Italian sausage... or is it a hot dog? At Dog Haus Biergarten, located in Roseville. There was no need for mustard or ketchup - heaven forbid - to enhance this amazing sausage, as it was "stand alone" delicious! When you dine at Dog Haus Biergarten, you'll enjoy some of the best hot dogs in Placer County, sausage, sides and more... skillfully prepared by the talented and friendly staff. Beer? ... oh yes... there is a wide array of craft beer and "mainstream" beer on tap, and ready to enjoy. Great hot dogs, amazing beer, and friendly staff... It's all at Dog Haus Biergarten, located in Roseville, CA. This is dining, as good as dining gets! Dog Haus Biergarten Copyright(c) 2023 eRench Productions. All rights reserved.
