Barn Burner Cafe is a recent player on the Rocklin/Roseville dining scene, having opened just last year.  We've been wanting to pay a visit to this fine restaurant ever since a local television station aired a segment on their fine dining, but things hadn't worked out.  Monday seems to be one of the few free days my wife and I have together... Barn Burner Cafe is closed on Mondays.  It all worked out, as on Friday, November 03, 2017 we were finally able to pay a visit to this wonderful restaurant.

As with all restaurant reviews I publish, I have no affiliation with the restaurant reviewed, and there is no monetary gain on my part, as I am simply a person who likes to eat, and I love to write-up, and publish my dining experiences.

Photo:  BarnBurner Cafe is located in a high-end strip mall, in the beautiful Placer County City of Rocklin.  If the weather works out, the restaurant offers lovely patio dining, and you're encouraged to bring your do along with you, as the restaurant is very dog-friendly.  The menu even offers a "doggie" section, which is very rare for restaurants in the area.  On this late Friday morning, November 02, 2017, we decided to enjoy or breakfast in the dining room, as the temperature was a little chilly for outdoor dining.

Photo:  As you enter the front door, you'll be greeted with a friendly "Please Wait to be Seated" sign, but within seconds, a friendly staff member will greet you and sit you at the table of your choice.  Note the awesome counter, which is fitting, as BarnBurner Cafe is open for breakfast and lunch.

Photo:  One page of the breakfast menu - there are two additional pages - this page grabbed my attention as it lists the "Traditional" breakfast.  Since it was 10:30 on this late Friday morning, I was faced with a dilemma... do I order breakfast or do I order lunch?  No worries, as any time the restaurant is open, you can order from the breakfast or the lunch menu.

Photo:  The "Sandwiches" section of the lunch menu grabbed my attention, and my choice easily narrowed to the "Cheese Burger," which is my de facto standard, and one of my favorite meals to enjoy.  I must admit the "BB'z Burger" grabbed my attention, but in the end, I went with a simple cheeseburger.

At BarnBurner Cafe, any item listed on the menu is available at any time.  This worked out for us, as on this late Friday morning... was it breakfast or lunch?  It was "brunch" for us, as I ordered lunch, and Sharlene ordered breakfast, which worked out perfectly.

Photo:  The dining room is quite large, comfortable, spacious and squeaky clean.  The decor is interesting, as it's a mixture between country and "hip hop," but it's warm and inviting.

Photo:  The kitchen is open, if you peek around a corner, where you can watch the talented kitchen staff performing their magic.  They know how to create outstanding "Americana" cuisine!

Photo:  Meet Karina, our super friendly hostess, who delivers my cheeseburger to our table with a smile.

Photo:  Thanks, Karina, for taking my photo, as I pose with my "Cheese Burger," along with a side of "Potato Tots." My wife is camera-shy, so she chose not to have her photo taken.  Note the comfortable table wetting, including condiments, and a small vase of fresh flowers to add to the atmosphere.

Photo:  Sharlene went with breakfast, and her menu choice was "Not Your Average Band Wagon Benedict."  The breakfast included potato tots, stacked with bacon and poached eggs, drizzled with creamy hollandaise sauce. Sharlene loved her breakfast, but she couldn't eat all of the tots, so she brought them home in a box and I enjoyed the tots for dinner!  The portions are very generous...

Photo:  You order anything listed on the menu anytime the restaurant is open.  I debated... debated... and debated again between breakfast or lunch.  Lunch on out, as I can rarely resist a cheeseburger at any time or any place.

I ordered the "Cheese Burger" from the lunch menu, which came with all of the garnishes you expect, including lettuce, onion, tomato and pickle slices.  I had my choice of several varieties of cheese, but I went with Cheddar, as it's my de facto cheese standard, being the easy-to-please diner that I am.  The burger arrived with potato tots - my choice of side - and an edible flower for presentation... or maybe dessert?  I ordered my meat cooked medium, and it arrived cooked perfectly medium, just like I ordered.  This restaurant knows how to serve the perfect cheeseburger.

Great burger!  Great tots!  Great meal... Oh yes, I ate the flower for dessert.

Photo:  The carnivore comes out in me, as I eat half of my delicious cheeseburger and post the rest for the review of this wonderful restaurant.

Photo:  My friendly hostess, Karina, tidies up our bill at the counter.  She took great care of us, offered wonderful service, and was an all-around great person.

BarnBurner Cafe is an excellent addition to the west Placer County dining scene, as the food is delicious, the staff is friendly, the service is fast, and the atmosphere is comfortable and can be described as "rustic chic."  Think of BarnBurner Cafe for all of your breakfast and lunch enjoyment!

Update:  Sadly, as of March 2023, BarnBurner Cafe has permantly closed, and has been sold to a yet-to-be known party.  Rocklin, along with western Placer County, will miss this amazing restaurant.
