The Auburn Wine, Ale and Food Festival is a "foodie" event simply not to be missed, as it offers a relaxing afternoon of enjoying all the good things that downtown and old town Auburn have to offer. The event mixes tasting of small food bites, coupled with wine, ale and beer samples, and throws in a lot of fun and good times in the mix! The 2026 edition of this fun food, wine and beer tasting event took place Saturday afternoon, October 10, 2026, in the beautiful Sierra foothills city of Auburn, CA. Photo: Here's the cover of the brochure you receive when you check in that highlights all of the information that will make your afternoon even more enjoyable. You see all of the restaurants, breweries and wineries offering samples of their wares, and a map of where each sample is located. This event showcased 25 different restaurants and 25 different breweries and wineries... and that's a lot of food, wine and beer to enjoy in four hours! You don't have to hit them all to have a good time, as the idea isn't to rush, but to slow down, sample, enjoy, and sample some more. My primary foucus was to eat, drink and enjoy the event, with taking photos and posting on my web site secondary. Don't look for every restaurant or brewery, as I've only posted a sample of the many venues that I enjoyed. Good times! Photo: The event began at 1:00 in the afternoon, but check in started at noon, so when the clock struck one, with wine glass in hand, you were ready to enjoy the event in style! I'm in line to check in to the event, and receive my "Over the Age" wristband, and my event wine glass, at the check-in tent, located at Central Square, in downtown Auburn. Photo: I'm ready to enjoy the event, as I have my event wine glass, the event brochure and I'm wearing my "Over 21" wristband, as this is a 21 and older age event. When the clock strickes one, I'm good to go! Photo: Monkey Cat, a downtown Auburn restaurant, was showcasing samples of their signature "Beef Tallow French Fries," along with special ketchup for dipping. The fries are described as, "Golden, crispy, and cooked the old school way." Sounds great to me. Photo: I'm a happy diner as I hold my sample of "Beef Tallow French Fries," along with a sample of Monkey Cat ketchup. Photo: "Beef Tallow French Fries," along with a cup of special ketchup. According to Monkey Cat, these are a few reasons why beef tallow fries stand out: * Richer, deeper flavor I LOVED the fries, along with the special ketchup. The fries were crispy deep fried to a beautiful golden brown, and gave a satisfying "crunch" when bit into. The special ketchup tasted very much like cocktail sauce, but with a little something else that I couldn't quite pinpoint... whatever the ingredient, the dipping was great! I'm a believer in "Beef Tallow French Fries" as enjoyed at Monkey Cat, located in downtown Auburn.
