Pacific Street Cafe has been serving delicious diner cuisine in a comfortable, railroad-themed dining room, with a commanding view of the nearby Union Pacific Railroad tracks. It's a cozy, locally owned and operated family restaurant, that is a favorite breakfast and lunch stop for Roseville, CA locals, and "foodies" from all over the greater Sacramento area. As with all of reviews that I publish, I have no affiliation with the restaurant reviewed, and there is no monetary gain on my part, as I am simply a person who likes to eat, and I love to write-up, and publish my dining experiences.

It's a little past the 07:00 in the morning opening time, Wednesday, August 19, 2026 and I've arrived at Pacific Street Cafe, located in the old town entertainment section of downtown Roseville, CA. The name "Pacific Street Cafe" is interesting, as the restaurant's address is actually on Lincoln St., but the side of the building that faces the railroad tracks is on Pacific Street. Downtown Roseville is split into two sections by the railroad tracks, and the west side, where this fine restaurant is located, is known to locals as the "entertainment" district, as the area is home to many restaurants, clubs and bars. Pacific Street Cafe has been a favorite of Roseville locals for 25 years, but soon it will be in the national spotlight, as America's Best Restaurant Roadshow will be filming the restaurant, and posting the segment on to social media. Congratulation to Pacific Street Cafe!
Photo: As you enter the restaurant, you'll be greeted by a friendly staff member, along with an old school black board that lists daily specials. The decor is warm, casual and very retro, and is railroad-themed. The restaurant is divided into two dining rooms, with the main dining room facing Pacific Street and offering a great view of the Union Pacific Railroad action as you enjoy a fine meal. If you're sensitive to the inherent noise that mainline railroad action creates, rest assured that you'll dine in peace, as the dining room does a great job of creating a serene atmosphere.
Photo: The second dining room is spacious and is furnished to accommodate larger size parties. Like the main dining room, it's retro decorated and railroad themed. If you look toward a ceiling, you'll see a large-scale model train the slowly circles both dining rooms, with the soft clickity-clackity of model train wheels on model rails.

Photo: I sat on the Pacific Street side of the restaurant, and enjoyed watching an eastbound grain train thunder by while I waited for my breakfast to arrive. The dining room does an outstanding job of silencing the loud noise the trains make, and you can enjoy a conversation even as the trains roll by.
Photo: Meet my waitress Laura, who brought my breakfast to me with a smile and treated me like family. My breakfast arrived only about 10 minutes after I placed my order, which made for fast service. I noticed her apron is decorated with trains, which matches the decor of the restaurant perfectly.

Photo: From the "Good Morning" section of the breakfast menu I ordered the "Biscuit and Gravy Platter," with sausage as my meat of choice. The menu describes this delicious listing as, "Homemade buttermilk biscuits made fresh daily and smothered with delicious country gravy. Served with two large eggs and your choice of thick sliced bacon or sausage." I describe this breakfast as delicious! The star of the breakfast was the large plate of biscuits and gravy, with the sausage and eggs being on a separate, smaller plate. Note that I said biscuits, as the plate featured two freshly-baked biscuits, cut in half, placed cut side up, and covered in a HUGE helping of mouth-watering, thick, rich country gravy. The biscuits were fresh from the kitchen, firm, not fluffy in texture, and were absolutely perfect. The gravy was rich, flavorful, with many chunks of country sausage, and spiced with just the right amount of freshly ground black pepper. The talented chef at Pacific Street Cafe knows how to make an amazing platter of biscuits and gravy! The side of eggs and sausage made for the perfect side dish to the large platter of biscuits and gravy, and rounded out this delicious breakfast. The two sausage links were simply delicious, as they were fork-tender, juicy, perfectly grilled, and oozed with juice and flavor. I didn't ask my server Laura, but I'll take an educated guess that the sausages come from Roseville Meat Company, located just across the railroad tracks, as that fine store sells some of the finest meat in Placer County and the menu mentions their tri-tip is sourced from there. The sausages were delicious! My two eggs arrived as ordered, fried sunnyside up, and they were delicious and heart warming. Thanks to Laura for the bottle of Cholula Mexican Hot Sauce, as it's the perfect hot sauce for eggs, and is among my favorites. Such an amazing breakfast! The freshly baked biscuits provided a delicious foundation for the super generous amount of savory, country gravy, and the juicy sausages and fried eggs made for a welcome side. The Cholula hot sauce added spice and robust flavor, and the Coors Light beer worked for a savory appetizer and dessert. Such a great breakfast at Pacific Street Cafe!

You will love the delicious "comfort food," served by the friendly staff, and the warm, inviting atmosphere of the friendly dining room. The food is delicious, the staff is friendly and the dining is some of the best in western Placer County!
