Old Town Pizza, located in the historic, entertainment district of Roseville, CA has become a pizza lover's destination in western Placer County, as the pizza served is some of the best in the area, the servers are super friendly, and the atmosphere is fun, festive and welcoming. It's the kind of pizza restaurant that you can't stay away from... As with all of reviews that I publish, I have no affiliation with the restaurant reviewed, and there is no monetary gain on my part, as I am simply a person who likes to eat, and I love to write-up, and publish my dining experiences. Photo: It's just 11:00 morning opening time, Saturday, August 22, 2026, and I've arrived at Old Town Pizza, located in the entertainment district of downtown Roseville to enjoy a delicious pizza and a craft beer. Old Town Pizza is located in downtown Roseville, on the west side of the railroad track. Downtown Roseville is interesting, as the railroad tracks split it into two sections: East and West. The "east" side is more business, and the "west" side is more food and entertainment, yet both "sides" of downtown Roseville feature a good mix of food, business and entertainment. Old Town Pizza is a small chain of three restaurants located in entirely in West Placer County, in the towns of Auburn, Lincoln and Roseville. Talk about "home grown" atmosphere! Photo: As you enter the restaurant, you'll be greeted by a friendly staff member who will sit you at any open table. Since I "opened up" the restaurant on this late Saturday morning, the restaurant was lightly seated, so I simply told the greeter that I wanted to sit at the bar. Photo: If you don't choose to dine inside, there is a walk up counter where you can order your pizza. Or, if you've placed an order from the restaurant's website, or by phone, you can pick up your pizza at this counter. If you're interested in a slice to go, the restaurant has you covered, as there is a display case with several sliced pizzas, ready to enjoy. Photo: The bar is spacious and exhibits a "sports bar" like atmosphere, and is welcoming and friendly. There is a dynamic selection of a couple dozen beers on tap and wine is served by the glass or by the bottle. Most of the beers are area craft beer, but there are a few surprises in the selection. The beer menu is constantly changing, and current selections are posted on the video monitor above the taps. Photo: The "Specialty Pizzas" section of the pizza menu. The menu lists other pizzas, sandwiches, salads and much more. Photo: I got things started today by ordering a glass of "Shotgun Wedding Hazy IPA" beer, poured from the tap by my friendly bartender Rebecca. Photo: I sat at the end of the bar where it is a round, solid table, and difficult for the bartender to reach. No problem, as the bartender has a specially made tool, about the length of a pool cue where she sets the glass on the edge of the bar and pushes it to you. I joked with Rebecca that I was making her life hard, and she got a laugh out of that. I went with a "Great Notion and Other Half Shotgun Wedding Hazy IPA," which is a joint beer venture between Great Notion Brewing, of Portland, Oregon, and Other Half Brewing, of Brooklyn, New York, hence the name "Shotgun Wedding." This fine beer showcases citra, citra lupomax, motueka and riwaka hop kief, and was delicious. I had never heard of it before, and the name intrigued me, so I HAD to order a glass. I loved it! Photo: Meet Ricky, my friendly server, who brought my "Caboose" to me with a smile in only about 10 minutes after I placed my order. That's FAST service! Photo: I'm a happy guy, as I hold a slice of "Caboose" pizza, and toast my host, and the friendly staff with a glass of "Shotgun Wedding Hazy IPA." Pizza and glass of craft IPA... does life get better? Photo: From the "Specialty" section of the pizza menu, I went with a "Caboose" pizza, as when it comes to pizza, I love my pizza loaded. "Caboose" includes pepperoni, sausage, linguica, salami, mushroom, onion and black olives. Like all pizzas on the menu, it includes Old Town's three cheeses, sauce, and the delicious baked pizza dough. A superior pizza begins with the crust, and when it comes to delicious crust, you can't beat Old Town Pizza, as the crust was simply perfect. The fresh dough was baked to a perfect golden brown, with a hint of butter, crispy on the outside, soft and tender inside, with a little bit of "crunch" when you bit into it. Such a wonderful taste, AND it held together and made a wonderful foundation for the toppings. The Italian sausage, linguica and salami were tender, flavorful and juicy, which made the meat of the pizza really stand out from the delicious cheese and veggies. It took me a bit to realize that the pizza had hardly any sauce, but I didn't miss it and it really wasn't needed, as this pizza was standalone delicious. The onion and olives were fresh, and NOT baked, as per the custom of most pizzas. The fresh "crunch" of the veggies worked wonders, as it contrasted to the amazing, perfectly backed crust, cheese, meat and mushrooms to make a wonderful pizza. I ordered a "small," 10-inch pizza, and I left with a full stomach and a smile on my face. Such great pizza in downtown Roseville! Photo: I hold one piece of pizza, showing all of the goodness the "Caboose" has to offer. This was a delicious pizza! No wonder Old Town Pizza has achieved such a stellar reputation among Roseville area pizza lovers, as this pizza makes for delicious gold country dining, every day of the week. Old Town Pizza has won many awards for their pizza, and I can see why, as it's some of the best pizza in Roseville. I love their pizza, the "cheers-like" decor, the beer on tap, and the friendly service. I can't say if they serve "the best" pizza in Roseville, but I CAN say the pizza is absolutely delicious!
