From early 2020 until mid-2024, 105 Noshery was a very popular eatery in downtown Roseville, CA owned and operated by local Randy Peters Catering company, located next to their catering business. All things must pass, and back in 2024 the restaurant was shuttered, to the dismay of the many Rosevillians who loved the delicious cuisine, the friendly staff, and the electric vibes. Good things happen to those who savor fine cuisine, and like a phoenix rising from the ashes, on June 18, 2026, the restaurant returned to life, reincarnated as The Daily Nosh, a casual, yet elegant breakfast and lunch restaurant owned and operated by the Randy Peters Catering company, of Roseville. As with all of reviews that I publish, I have no affiliation with the restaurant reviewed, and there is no monetary gain on my part, as I am simply a person who likes to eat, and I love to write-up, and publish my dining experiences. Photo: It's a little past 08:00 in the morning, Thursday, July 02, 2026, and I've arrived at The Daily Nosh about two weeks past it's grand re-opening back on June 18th. I know exactly what I'd been missing, as it's predecessor, 105 Noshery, served a superb breakfast. Photo: As you enter the restaurant, you'll be greeted by a friendly staff member who will seat you in the comfortable dining room, or if you prefer, the lovely patio. The dining room has been redecorated with brighter and livelier colors, but is essentially unchanged from the 105 Noshery days. The full-service bar is still the centerpiece of the dining room! Photo: The dining room is absolutely gorgeous! It's comfortable, inviting, and full of electric atmosphere. Photo: Today's weather was perfect for patio dining, as the temperature was in the low 70's - an oddity for early July in Roseville - and the inviting, redecorated patio was the place I chose to dine. The patio has been refurnished, and decorated with lots of plants, which match the trees and plants growing along Vernon St. The patio looks out to the street, so you can enjoy the happenings on Vernon St. as you enjoy your meal. Note the water jets, which are turned on during warm weather, and convert to a fireplace during chilly weather. The patio offers four-season dining, as there are a couple of portable air conditioners set up for summer use, along with large ceiling fans. The large open areas can be closed or shaded from the hot sun, During the winter, there are portable heaters, the water jets convert to a gas fireplace, and the patio can be mostly closed off from the elements. Photo: Meet Brandy, this morning's super friendly bartender, who poured a pint of Coors beer from the tap and brought it to me with a genuine smile. Photo: The menu is printed on plain paper and mimics a newspaper, which truly adds a touch of class. This is one page of the breakfast menu, including the "Whole AA Free Range Organic Eggs" section, which garnered my attention. Photo: After placing my order for breakfast, I got up and walked around, to explore this beautiful restaurant. I love the full-service bar, which is the showpiece of the dining room. Photo: I was impressed with the hot sauce shelf, which includes a sizeable array of hot sauces, and, according to the staff, is growing. I made the suggestion of including sauces from The Pepper Plant, a quintessential California-style hot sauce into their collection, and the staff agreed. The idea is that you pick a bottle of hot sauce that interests you and bring it to your table. This reminds me of the hot sauce shelf at Granite Rock Grill, located in nearby Rocklin. Photo: Just past the bar is the large, open kitchen, where you can watch the talented and dedicated staff perform their magic. The Daily Nosh is definitely "high tech," as all orders are process through a computer system, and the host staff use tablets to take orders. There is nothing more that I love than a restaurant with an open kitchen, as it showcases the heart and soul of the entire operation. Photo: Meet Alyssa, my cordial server, who served me with a friendly smile and treated me like royalty. All of the staff at The Daily Nosh are helpful, friendly and eager to make a lasting dining impression, and it truly works! Come for the food, and stay for the friendly service. Photo: I'm a happy diner, as I toast my amazing friendly server Alyssa, and all of the fine staff of The Daily Nosh. My pint of Coors beer from the tap is great for toasting, but works even better as a dessert. A couple splashes from the bottle of Cholula hot sauce served as a fine enhancement for the eggs, but wasn't at all necessary, as my breakfast was as good as it gets. I even forgot about the salt and the pepper! Photo: From the "Whole AA Free Range Large Organic Eggs" section of the "Breakfast" section of the menu, I went with "House Smoked Bologna." My side of choice was Nosh's legendary hash brown potatoes, along with a slice of "Texas Toast." The Daily Nosh's breakfast menu offers many choices of sides, including "Fried Green Tomatoes," which is a side that you rarely see in Northern California. Ditto with smoked bologna, as I've never seen it on a breakfast menu in California during my many years of dining. I couldn't wait to dig in to the smoked bologna sausage, or as it is commonly called, "baloney," as it was a new breakfast entrée experience for me to enjoy. My breakfast included a generous portion of two thick slices of house-smoked bologna sausage, grilled to perfection, and sporting attractive grill marks. The sausage was super flavorful and juicy, as juice was oozing out of the sausage! I cut off a piece and popped it into my mouth and was rewarded with a smoky, rich taste sensation of the delicious, juicy sausage, smoked and grilled to perfection. Thanks to the talened chef at The Daily Nosh, I'm a believer in smoked baloney sausage! The restaurant is known far and wide for the legenday portion sizes of their hash brown potatoes, as these hash browns are not only some of the best in town, but the portion size is massive. True to rorm, I wasn't disappointed, both in the taste and the size of my portion. The hash brown potatoes were fried to a crispy, beautiful golden brown on the outside, and rich, flavorful and tender inside. The hash brown potatoes made for a first-rate side dish to enjoy with the baloney. I've been eating free range eggs for most of my lefe, and my two eggs were cooked as ordered, sunnyside up, which is my defacto standard way to enjoy eggs when I order hash brown potaotes. There was a pretty little garnish of fancy lettuce and graped on the side, which added to the stunning presentation of the plate, and gave a little "green" to go with my breakfast. The thick piece of "Texas Toast," which was so large that it arrived on it's own plate, was perfectly toasted, lightly buttered, and included a cup of real butter on the side, in case you wanted more. Yes, m'am... count me in! The toast was probably an inch thick, and made the meal all come together. The pint of Coors beer served as both my appetizer and my dessert... no breakfast of mine is complete with out a pint of it, in a frosted glass! What an amazing breakfast! The smoked bologna was out-of-this-world delicious, te hash browns were crispy and delicious, the free-range eggs made things happen, and the "Texas Toast" was a slice of toast fit for a lumberjack. This was a breakfast to enjoy, and a breakfast to remember. The Daily Nosh is trul a top-shelf breakfast restaurant!
Photo: My first bite of smoked bologna sausage, showing the thickness, the attractive grill marks and the juicy goodness of this delicious breakfast entrée. You don't often see smoked bologna on any breakfast menu in western Placer County! It certainly made for fine gold country dining on this sunny Thursday morning... Back on Saturday, August 20, 2022, I "opened up" the 105 Noshery, the predecessor of The Daily Nosh, for their Saturday morning brunch offering, with anmazing meal beginning with "Chicken Fried Steak and Country Gravy," and ending with a dessert of "Cast Iron Skillet Seared Garlic Shrimp." Savor the ambiance and the fine cuisine offered at the former 105 Noshery... Photo: Meet Max, my friendly host, who brought my amazing brunch to me with a smile. Max provided friendly, efficient hospitality, which seemed to be quite an achievement, considering the patio was very busy on this beautiful Saturday morning. Photo: I was simply amazed at the fast service the kitchen offered, as my breakfast arrived only about fifteen minutes after I placed my order. I barely had time to take more than a sip or two of my Lead Dog Brewing "Gangster" beer. Thanks, Max, for snapping my photo, as I prepare to enjoy my delicious breakfast. Photo: From the "Whole Eggs" section of the weekend "Brunch" menu, I went with "Chicken Fried Steak and Country Sausage Gravy." The menu adds, "Nosh salad, choice of hash browns, home fries, French fries, house potato chips, vine ripe tomatoes, or fried green tomatoes. As well as choice of sourdough, molasses whole wheat, rye toast, biscuit, or Texas toast." Oh my! One of the hardest decisions that I've had to make in a long time was the choice between fried green tomatoes or Texas toast - in retrospect, I should have consulted my attorney - but I went with hash browns, as there isn't a hash brown potato on this planet that I don't love. My initial reaction was "Where are the hash browns?" but they were simply tucked under the chicken fried steak. The chicken fried steak was seasoned perfectly, and beaten very thin and spread out, which is something you don't see very often. It was coated in a seasoned batter and deep fried to a crispy, delicious, beautiful brown. The meat to batter ratio was perfect, and made for a superior chicken fried steak! The crispy meat topped a bed of hash brown potatoes, which were fried on the griddle to a light, golden brown. It was difficult to tell if the hash browns were crispy - which is the trademark of quality hash browns - as they absorbed juice and goodness from the meat, but they provided a perfect foundation as every time you took a bite of meat, you'd be enjoying hash browns as well. The meat and hash browns were topped with some of the best country gravy in Roseville! The gravy was creamy, rich, seasoned just right, and had lots, I mean LOTS of chunks of sausage. The gravy was simply delicious, and there was plenty to cover the meat, as 105 Noshery is generous with the gravy, not to mention the meat and potatoes as well. My two fried eggs over easy arrived as ordered - over easy - which was just right. The "Texas toast" wasn't particularly special, as it was simply two thick slices of white toast, lightly buttered. "Nosh salad" was a small salad of fancy green and red lettuce, along with a few crisp, sweet grapes. It added a sweet touch to the meal, and added to the beautiful presentation. One bite, with the combination of deep fried, battered beef, fried hash brown potatoes and country gravy was sheer Saturday morning breakfast nirvana! If that wasn't enough, every couple of bites I dipped into the eggs... wow! Amazing! You'd be hard-pressed to find a better chicken fried steak breakfast in Roseville, or anywhere else... Photo: Meet Arisari, my super friendly hostess, who delivered my appetizer of "Cast Iron Skillet Seared Garlic Shrimp" to me with a smile. By the time I had ordered the appetizer, the patio had become quite very busy. Photo: From the "Appetizer" section of the menu, I went with "Cast Iron Skillet Seared Garlic Shrimp," which made an awesome accompaniment to my breakfast. This amazing appetizer is also known as "Randy Peters' Cajun Shrimp," but no matter what you call it, I call it delicious! The "draw" of this amazing appetizer was the four, Cajun-seasoned, marinated-in-garlic shrimp, pan seared in garlic butter until they were melt-in-your mouth tender and juicy. The shrimp, along with several chunks of seared Cajun andouille sausage, rested on a large bed of thick, tangy, Cajun-style poutine, and topped with a poached egg! Topping off this amazing appetizer were three pieces of sourdough toast, which were simply perfect to scoop up the last of everything. All of the goodies were cooked - and presented - in a cast iron skillet, which kept everything delicious and hot, and enhanced the beautiful presentation. "Garlic" is the "name" of this dish, but the garlic wasn't overpowering, as the taste and texture were balanced, and worked well together, to create a Cajun taste sensation. The poutine made for an great "base" for this fine appetizer, and the shrimp, sausage, bread, and the poached egg filled it in, and made everything work together. This appetizer is large - it could be a meal for one - and meant to be shared, but somehow, I managed to enjoy it all, as it was simply delicious! Here's an interesting aside to this restaurant visit: The digital camera I normally use to take restaurant photos died, and during the time of this visit, was far away, getting well in the "camera hospital," so all photos were taken with my back-up camera... iPhone 12! The Daily Nosh is an amazing restaurant in every way! The elegant, yet casual cuisine is what you've come to expect from Randy and his company - some of the best in all of Placer County - served by some of the friendliest staff in the world, in an upscale dining room, or what may be the finest dining patio in Roseville.
