Early/mid Saturday morning, September 15, 2018, I was still exploring beautiful Dodge City, Kansas, and admiring the sights of the former wild frontier/cattle town, now a very respectable city of just under 30,000 residents, and the hub of business and tourism in Southwest Kansas.  There is one thing I've noticed about sight-seeing:  It builds up an appetite, especially for breakfast.  I had menudo on my mind, so I headed over to Tacos El Torito to enjoy a hearty and delicious breakfast of menudo.

As with all of reviews that I publish, I have no affiliation with the restaurant reviewed, and there is no monetary gain on my part, as I am simply a person who likes to eat, and I love to write-up, and publish my dining experiences.

Photo:  It's just a little before 0800 in the morning, on Saturday, September 15, 2018, and I've arrived at Tacos El Torito in Dodge City, KS for breakfast.  Looks like I'm "opening" up the restaurant, as I seem to be the first customer.

Photo:  As you enter the restaurant, the dining room is very clean, simple and nicely arranged.  The order counter is at the rear of the restaurant.  Unlike many taquerias, Tacos El Torito is a full-service restaurant, as you can place your order from your table.

Photo:  I "opened up" the restaurant, so I basically picked out an empty table - every table in the restaurant was empty - and my friendly server, Elizabeth immediately placed a menu, a basket of tortilla chips and a bowl of salsa on the table with a smile.  There is no better way to start out a Mexican breakfast than with a basked of fresh tortilla chips, a bowl of salsa, and a friendly smile.

Photo:  The main menu on this Saturday morning.  The tripe tacos really tugged at my taste buds, as they are one of my favorites.  However, today was Saturday, and menudo is traditionally served at many Mexican restaurants on weekends, and although it wasn't on the menu, I asked if they had menudo, and the answer was a big "YES!" so I went with a bowl of menudo.  I can never get enough of the savory Mexican soup...

Photo:  After ordering, I actually paid for my bowl of menudo at the counter.  Hello Elizabeth... such a friendly person, and the chef, who is working on my breakfast of menudo.

Photo:  My friendly server, Elizabeth, brings my bowl of menudo, rolled corn tortillas, and condiments to my table with a smile.

Photo:  Thanks for taking my photo, Elizabeth, as I grin, knowing that I'm ready to enjoy an amazing Mexican breakfast at Tacos El Torito.

Photo:  What a great way to start out a Saturday in Dodge City!  Great food and super-friendly service.

Breakfast started with a complimentary appetizer of fresh tortilla chips, along with in-house-made salsa.  Oh yeah!

The main course of the breakfast was a large bowl of menudo, served with corn tortillas - not shown - and condiments.  I asked my friendly server, Elizabeth about the menudo, and she said it was her mom's recipe, it is made in-house, and on weekends, there's a pot of it always simmering on the back burner.  You can't go wrong with a breakfast like this, served at Tacos El Torito.

Saturday morning breakfast of menudo in Dodge City, Kansas at Tacos El Torito.  What could be better?  Super-friendly service, delicious food, and a very comfortable dining room so you can really savor a bowl of menudo for your Saturday morning breakfast.  When you're in the mood for a great weekend bowl of menudo, pay a visit to Tacos El Torito, in Dodge City, KS.
