Are you looking for good, solid, truck stop diner fare in Lakeview, Oregon? If that's what you have in mind - I always have that wonderful variety of cuisine rolling around in my head - Jerry's Restaurant, in Lakeview is your kind of restaurant. As with all of reviews that I publish, I have no affiliation with the restaurant reviewed, and there is no monetary gain on my part, as I am simply a person who likes to eat, and I love to write-up, and publish my dining experiences. Jerry's Restaurant, Lakeview, OR. Thursday Jun 22. Server Edith. Very busy restaurant. One server & two cooks. Ordered Huevos Rancheros. Spanish spoken by staff. I spoke Spanish in this 1970's style diner. Delicious!! Photo: It's 8 o'clock in the morning, Thursday, June 22, 2017, and I'm in Lakeview, Oregon, and ready enjoy breakfast at Jerry's Restaurant. Or, as the sign reads, is it "erry's Restaurant?" Back in the day, Jerry's was a small, west coast restaurant chain, but it seems in 2017 that each "Jerry's" is independently owned and operated, and has it's own menu. The Lakeview, Oregon Jerry's is very different from the former Jerry's Restaurant - now morphed into Cafe 58 - in Mojave, California. Photo: A "Please Wait to Be Seated" sign greets you as you walk into the restaurant. Since I was by myself, I simply walked in and sat at the counter. When I dine by myself, I prefer to seat at the counter, as you're closer to the "action," and get a better opportunity to observe the restaurant, and the staff in action. Photo: The restaurant was quite busy on this Thursday morning. Most of the customers were locals, but there were a few travelers, drawn off nearby U.S. 395. The decor is definitely 1980's and I don't think much has changed since then. I was interested to note the staff spoke Spanish among themselves, so I dusted off my Spanish, which the staff seemed to enjoy. Photo: The breakfast menu features a wide variety of breakfast favorites, including many dishes with a Mexican influence. Lakeview is a long way from Tijuana, but the menu has many common dishes that I've enjoyed during my travels to Tijuana, Mexico. Photo: My server, Edith, pauses for a photo, after delivering my breakfast to me. She seemed a bit surprised that I requested her photo. Photo: Thanks, Edith, for taking my photo, as I prepare to enjoy a breakfast of "Huevos Rancheros." Photo: Outside of my normal character, today I didn't feel like a heavy breakfast, so I ordered "Huevos Rancheros," which is a dish that I enjoy, but I seldom order. Jerry's Restaurant serves "Huevos Rancheros" starting with three eggs on a large corn tortilla, along with cheese and salsa. I chose hash browns today, but country potatoes are offered. Complete with a bottomless mug of coffee, this made for a great breakfast. Great, solid, stick-to-your-ribs breakfast, busy, but friendly staff, and a great, truck stop-like diner experience. Jerry's Restaurant is my kind of diner to enjoy a fantastic meal! Jerry's Restaurant Copyright(c) 2017 eRench Productions. All rights reserved. We've been on the web since December 22, 2002.
