After spending most of the day helping my nephew work on his car, both of us had worked up an appetite.  Since I was the visitor, and didn't know the area, I asked him where he wanted to enjoy dinner tonight.  Since he's a "meat and potatoes" kind of guy, he suggested Applebee's in nearby Covington, Washington, which sounded like a great idea to me, as I'd been thinking about how good a steak dinner would taste...

As with all of reviews that I publish, I have no affiliation with the restaurant reviewed, and there is no monetary gain on my part, as I am simply a person who likes to eat, and I love to write-up, and publish my dining experiences.

Photo:  It's about 7 o'clock in the evening on Thursday, August 17, 2017, and my nephew Bruce and I are ready to enjoy steak for dinner at Applebee's Neighborhood Bar and Grill, in Covomgtpm, Washington.

Photo:  As you walk in the restaurant, there is a friendly greeter who will greet you and seat you.  This lighting is on the subdued side - that's an understatement - which doesn't make for good photos.  I didn't want to use flash, as that is obtrusive to other people who are trying to enjoy their dinner.

Photo:  The Covington location is typical of an Applebee's restaurant, as it features comfortable seating, subdued lighting, and a large bar, near the center of the restaurant.

Photo:  I always love the oval bar in the center of every Applebee's outlet that I've had the pleasure to visit. On this Thursday evening, I was driving, so I stayed away from the bar and opted for ice water.

Photo:  Meet Sharon, our friendly hostess, who brought dinner with a smile.  Both my nephew, Bruce, and myself decided to go "caveman," and order steak as the main entree but Bruce's steak was larger than mine.  Earlier in the day, I had enjoyed a full breakfast, not the mention the fact that Bruce is 20-something years younger than I am.

Photo:  Thanks, Sharon, for taking our photo, as Bruce and I prepare to enjoy a delicious dinner at the Applebee's restaurant, in Covington, Washington.

Photo:  I went with the "Create Your Grill Masterpiece," menu selection, albeit on the modest side, with a 6-oz steak, baked potato, along with fire-grilled vegetables.

The vegetables and backed potato were cooked perfectly and were "as good as it gets."  The steak, which I ordered cooked medium, nearly melted in my mouth, and the knife merely served for decoration.  I've always enjoyed a perfectly cooked meal at Applebee's, and the Covington location is no exception to that fine tradition.

Bruce enjoyed a 8-oz steak, no potato, but a double order of broccoli.  Hey, nephew, whatever floats your boat.

Photo:  Bruce was interested in desert, so he ordered a "Blue Ribbon Brownie," which included a scoop a vanilla ice cream.  Jacob, or desert server, clowns it up for the camera, as he deliver's Bruce's desert.  I nearly always pass on desert, as I'm usually too full, and I really don't have a sweet tooth.

Photo:  The "Blue Ribbon Brownie," in all of its glory.  If you're a lover of desert, you should check this out.

In keeping with the core values of the Applebee's chain of restaurants, the Covington, Washington location offers delicious food, friendly service, reasonable prices in a comfortable, family-friendly dining room.  When you long for the fine cuisine Applebee's has to offer, and you're in Covington, there is definitely an Applebee's ready to please your dining taste.
