Stage Door Casino is considered to be a "dive bar," but it's located near the strip, features dirt-cheap food and drinks, and is a favorite of Las Vegas locals. I love EVERYTHING about this fine restaurant! Photo: Stage Door Casino is actually more of a convenience store and a bar than a casino, but, what's in a name? The restaurant is bargain-priced, and as the banner announces, features a quarter-pound hot dog and a Budweiser beer for the basement-price of $3.00, including sales tax. This is a Las Vegas bargain! This dive bar is located on Flamingo Blvd., across the street from Bally's, a block east of the Las Vegas strip. Photo: As you walk in the entrance to the restaurant, if you turn to your right, you'll be in the convenience store, which sells everything you'd expect for your convenience. If you're looking for a great hot dog, forget the store, and head to the left, and you'll be greeted with TWO full bars, slot machines, pool tables, and lots of friendly people. Stage Door Casino is a favorite of Las Vegas locals. Photo: I sat on a bar stool at the bar nearest to the main entrance. There is another full-service bar, but this bar features the hot dog cooker, which was my major interest. OK, the beer and slot machines were interesting, but at 06:30 PM on this Tuesday evening, May 05, 2014, I was FAMISHED and in need of a good hot dog. As you can see in the center of the photo, Stage Door Casino's bar features a rotating hot dog grill machine, which also keeps buns warm and moist. Just right for dinner, on an early Tuesday evening, after prowling the Las Vegas strip all day... Photo: My friendly bartendress, Sandy, has just placed my quarter-pound dog on the bar and smiles as I snap her photo. No, I didn't play any of the video poker games that adorn the bar. Photo: On my request, Sandy took a photo of me, holding my quarter-pound hot dog. Photo: The Budweiser beer arrived first, but was followed shortly by the quarter-pound Nathan hot dog. The dog arrived "undressed" but small packages of mustard, mayonnaise, catsup and relish were available to "dress" the dog to the full extent. Photo: After applying a bit of mustard, relish and mayonnaise, my dog is dressed to kill and ready to eat. Delicious and quite a Las Vegas bargain! The name of the restaurant is Stage Door Casino, but it's not really a casino, as it's more of a dive bar, a convenience store, and a place to hang out, and have a good time, on the "cheap." Bring a twenty-spot, and it'll last you all day... Stage Door Casino is my kind of place... Stage Door Casino Copyright(c) 2014 eRench Productions. All rights reserved.
