Jack's Cafe is a very popular restaurant for breakfast and lunch, and nearly every morning, is packed with Sparks locals, enjoy their wonderful cuisine. Photo: During my visits to the Nugget Rib Cookoff in Sparks, Nevada, I've walked by Jack's Cafe countless times without visiting the fine restaurant. Friday, August 29, 2014, that changed, as on our way home, we stopped at Jacks for breakfast. Note the very high sign, which made this photo somewhat of a challenge to compose. Photo: The view of Jack's as you walk in the front door. The dining room is mostly booths that seat two or four people, with a large counter. Not show, to the right of the photo, is a separate dining room with tables, to seat larger groups. A sign greets you and asks that you wait to be seated, but we were greeted and seated immediately. Not shown in the photo is a white board, announcing the daily specials. Photo: View from the rear of the restaurant, showing the window into the kitchen. When your order is ready, the chef places the order on the window sill, and the server brings the order to your table. Photo: Our friendly server Ana places our order on the table. Photo: Sharlene and I are ready to enjoy our delicious breakfast. Thanks to our friendly and efficient server, Ana, for taking our photo. The staff at Jack's Cafe is friendly, efficient and eager to please, but not intrusive. I got the feeling that many of the employees have been with the restaurant for a long time. Photo: From the "For The Hearty Eaters" of the breakfast menu, I ordered "Jack's Famous Country-Style Breakfast." The menu describes it as, "Served with two extra large eggs, biscuits and country gravy over homefries and your choice of meat." There are several varieties of meat offered, but in keeping with the "country" theme, or ordered a country sausage patty. The breakfast was outstanding! At first, I thought that I'd read the menu wrong, as I asked myself, "Where are the homefries?" Sharlene noted how tall the biscuits were, so upon further inspection with my fork, sure enough the homefries were tucked under the biscuits, and smothered in country gravy. Delicious! Jack's Cafe is open for breakfast and lunch only, and their menu features a vast array of breakfast favorites, including pancakes, French toast, Belgian waffles, omelets, and other breakfast classics. The menu includes a section titled "At The Border," which features many Mexican breakfast favorites. I missed this section, as my eyes stopped at the "Jack's Famous Country-Style Breakfast," so I suppose I'll have to pay Jack's another visit, to enjoy one of the Mexican-influenced breakfast selections. Jack's Cafe has it all, including delicious food, friendly, attentive service, GIANT portions, and a great, family-friendly dining atmosphere. No wonder this fine restaurant has been a favorite of the Sparks locals since 1985! Jack's Cafe Copyright(c) 2014 eRench Productions, Inc. All rights reserved.
