Gema's Cafe is a small restaurant, located in the small Nye County town of Beatty, that serves delicious breakfast, lunch and dinner, to locals, and travelers on U.S. Highway 95 who enjoy delicious diner cuisine. As with all of reviews that I publish, I have no affiliation with the restaurant reviewed, and there is no monetary gain on my part, as I am simply a person who likes to eat, and I love to write-up, and publish my dining experiences.
Photo: It's a little past 08:00, Tuesday morning, November 12, 2024, and we've arrived at Gema's Cafe to enjoy a delicious Nevada diner breakfast.
Photo: Menu specials are posted on an old school blackboard, outside the door. I have to admit the "Chili Relleno and Beans" tempted me, but after looking at the menu, I was hooked on "Ham Steak and Eggs."
Photo: The dining room is small, basic and is furnished with tables and chairs. There is a self-serve, all-you-can-drink soda machine if you're inclined in that direction.

Photo: From the "Breakfast All Day" side of the menu, I went with "Ham Steak and Eggs," to get my great Tuesday morning started the right way. I enjoyed home fries, sourdough toast, and my eggs, fried sunnyside up. This is simply delicious Nevada diner cuisine! The menu simply describes this great diner classic breakfast as, "All served with choice of home fries, fruit or cottage cheese. Ham steak and eggs, $11.99." Yowza!! Note that cottage cheese or fruit were offered as a choice for your breakfast side? How often do you see these choices on the menu, in a diner in rural Nevada? Truly the showcase of my breakfast was the thick, juicy slab of ham, seasoned to perfection, and perfectly grilled, complete with attractive grill marks. My competents to the chef, as this piece of ham was simply perfect! The home fries made for the perfect side, as they were simply potatoes cut into bite-size slices, parboiled, seasoned and grilled to perfection. As per my order, my eggs arrived sunnyside up, which worked well with the potatoes. My order of sourdough toast, like the rest of the breakfast was perfect, and rounded out a delicious breakfast and got my Tuesday morning started the right way. Such a great, rustic diner breakfast in a rural Nevada town! The breakfast was simply delicious, the service was fast and friendly and the price was right.
