Restaurante de Mariscos Purerto Rico at Presa del la Boca... a restaurant noted for great food, along with fast and friendly service.

As with all of reviews that I publish, I have no affiliation with the restaurant reviewed, and there is no monetary gain on my part, as I am simply a person who likes to eat, and I love to write-up, and publish my dining experiences.

Wednesday, July 22, 2009,  Edna and I traveled to Monterrey, Nuevo León and enjoyed a wonderful lunch at Restaurant de Mariscos Puerto Rico at Presa de la Boca, a manmade lake about 15 miles southeast of Monterrey on Highway 85, near the small town of Santiago. Presa de la Boca has become a popular weekend retreat for Monterrey residents, especially those who enjoy boating and fishing.  Many rustic resorts and restaurants are located along the shore, where visitors can enjoy fine dining, and a view of the beautiful lake, and the surrounding countryside.

Puerto Rico specializes seafood, which is fitting, as the restaurant is located on the shore of the lake.  The menu is almost daunting, as there is a wide array of choices, but I ordered in fresh shrimp stuffed with cheese wrapped in bacon and deep fried. My lunch also included fries, white rice and salad on the side.  Yup, those bacon bombs were the shrimp! Ohhhh Yeah! Edna decided on breaded, fried fish fillets, with fries rice and a salad on the side, and she commented that her lunch was delicious. The table included the customary bottles of picante sauce, key limes, red in-house made salsa, and fried corn tortilla chips.

Julio was our friendly waiter, and he was always on-hand to provide great service, but he was not at all intrusive. We like a waiter who is friendly and efficient, but doesn't get "in your face."  The cost of our lunch, including two cokes and a margarita was 255 pesos, about $18.00, which was a bargain-price for such an excellent lunch.
