Plaza Santa Celilia, also known as Calle Andador Santiago Arguello - many streets in Tijuana have more than one name - is a one block street that runs diagonally between Av. Revolución and Av. Consitución, in downtown Tijuana. It's a pedestrian-friendly block, where cars are banned, that's lined with restaurants on both sides of the street. As you approach downtown Tijuana, look for the landmark Hotel Nelson, across the street from the Tijuana arch, and immediately west of the hotel, Calle Arguello heads to the southwest, where it joins Av. Consitución.  Near the middle of the block, on the west side, you'll find Restaurant La Fuente, where I had the pleasure of enjoying a bowl of delicious menudo, chips, salsa, and a few Pacifico beers.

Photo:  Like most restaurants in Tijuana, Restaurant La Fuente features outside dining... you can legally enjoy your beer and do your people-watching, as you enjoy a delicious meal.

Photo:  The kitchen staff clowns up and poses for my photo.  Like most people, they were not prepared for my onslaught of digital photos, as, after all, who takes photos of everyday people, doing everyday things?  Well, to break the mould... I'm addicted to "street" photography...

Photo:  My "appetizer" of a cold Pacifico beer, chips, lime slices and fresh, in-house made salsa.  The chips and salsa were unlimited, as after I finished the bowl of chips, server Juan quickly brought another bowl to the table. The salsa was fresh, in-house made, delicious and spicy, but not overy hot.

Photo:  My friendly server, Juan, poses at the table, after delivering my bowl of menudo.  I never pass on a chance to enjoy a bowl of menudo, as it's one of my favorite entrees to enjoy for breakfast.  In this case, it was lunch, but what the heck?

Photo:  My "lunch/brunch" on Tuesday, May 03, 2011:  Cold Pacifico beer, chips, salsa, corn tortillas, and a large bowl of menudo, garnished with cilantro and slices of white onions.  Oh yes!!!  Good food!!!

Photo:  Juan graciously snapped my photo, as I was poised to enjoy my delicious meal.  I consumed a total of three Pacifico beers, and I found it interesting that Restaurant La Fuente didn't seem to have Pacifico beer in stock, as Juan shuttled to the restaurant next door and traded a Corona beer for a Pacifico beer to fulfill my request... Whatever the case, the meal, the service and the dining experience was THE BEST!

The menudo was delicious, the chips were fresh and crispy, the salsa was absolutely wonderful, the service was attentive, but not pushy, and the price of the excellent meal, including three beers, came to around MEX $85.00, which is more than reasonable.  If you're into people-watching, the outdoor dining at Restaurant La Fuente can't be beat, as you're right on the street, and there's nothing better than sipping a cold Pacifico beer, enjoying a hot bowl of menudo, and watching hot señoritas stroll by on a pleasant afternoon in early May.  Restaurant La Fuente is highly recommended.
