Mr. Pork Grill is a pop-up restaurant and catering operation located in the greater Sacramento area that caters to special events, mostly in Sacrament, El Dorado and Placer Counties.  You're invited to attend if you love quality grilled food...

As with all of reviews that I publish, I have no affiliation with the restaurant reviewed, and there is no monetary gain on my part, as I am simply a person who likes to eat, and I love to write-up, and publish my dining experiences.

Photo:  It's a little past 12:30 in the afternoon, Saturday, June 22, 2024, and I've arrived at Mr. Pork Grill to enjoy an amazing meal of grilled sausage and fries.  Mr. Pork Grill is a pop-up restaurant operation, which sets up and caters all over the greater Sacramento area, including the Placer County Fair, where I'm enjoying their fine cuisine and the ambiance of a small county fair.

The Placer County Fair is held every year during the 3rd weekend in June, in Roseville at "@ The Grounds," which is a crazy name for what used to be called the Placer County Fairgrounds.

Nearly all of the food vendors at this year's fair event were operation out of food truck or trailers, which makes photography difficult.  Instead, Mr. Pork Grill set up an "old school" pop-up restaurant, where you could actually see your meal being grilled and prepared, and talk to the friendly staff as they prepare your meal.  I truly appreciate the "old school" approach and atmosphere that Mr. Pork Grill has to offer...

Photo:  Looking at the menu... steak, sausage and chicken happen, both in a sandwich, or served in a basket, over fries.  The simple menu was posted near where you place your order, and receive you food.

Photo:  Mr. Sous Chef carefully tends the deep fryer in the back of the restaurant, lifting a basket of perfectly cooked fries out of the deep fry.  The fries I enjoyed today were simply amazing!

Photo:  The condiment table offers barbecue sauce, packages of mustard, ketchup and salt, along with a static display of "Top Sirloin Fries," which seemed to be very stale, and simply on display.

Photo:  Mr. Sous Chef, and Mr. Chef toast their expertise in grilling, and their culinary skill in offering superior grilled goodness at the Placer County Fair.

Photo:  A generous helping of "Cheese Jalapeno Sauce" was added last, to make this a simply amazing meal.

Photo:  Mr. Chef gives me a friendly smile as he hands my basket of "Mr. Pork Sausage Loaded Fries" to me.  All of the staff at the restaurant was friendly an very accommodating, unlike staff that you see at many pop-up restaurants, that set up at county fairs.

Photo:  After looking over the limited menu, I went with a basket of "Mr. Pork Sausage Loaded Fries," as you can't miss by combining grilled pork and deep fried fries.

My "Mr. Pork Sausage loaded Fries" began with a bed of fries, seasoned and deep fried to a perfect light golden brown on the outside, yet white, juicy and tender on the inside.  The "mountain" of fries was topped with a generous helping of grilled sausage - you can watch the chef grill the sausage - which was seasoned, bursting with juice, and all so tender after being cooked on the outdoor grill.

Next, a generous helping of cheese jalapeno sauce was added from a squeeze bottle, which was surprisingly thick, and added a tangy, cheesy goodness to this amazing basket of fries and sausage. Next came helpings of both buffalo and garlic sauce... what exactly is "buffalo sauce" anyway?  Not matter what it is, it's wonderful and along with the garlic sauce - which resembled ranch dressing - made for a "oh-my-goodness!" basket of fries, topped with sausage.

From what I gathered talking to the staff, their menu has a lot of influence from Brazil, and the fine culinary cuisine the country offers, but I didn't get to follow through on the conversation, as the restaurant was extremely busy during my early afternoon visit.

One bite into this amazing dish brought a taste sensation, as the flavors of fries, grilled sausage, cheese, along with the tangy buffalo sauce and a dash of garlic made for a amazing tasting experience.  The flavors mingled well together, and I especially loved the cheesy goodness the cheese jalapeno sauce had to offer.

The "Mr. Pork Sausage Loaded Fries" may look like a snack, but for the average person, including "yours truly," it made for a meal which kept me full for the rest of the afternoon.

Combine the good times enjoyed at the Placer County Fair, along with a helping of "Mr. Pork Sausage Loaded Fries," along with a dose of super friendly service... you have a winning combination!  Enjoy Mr. Pork Grill at various events in Placer Country, and in the greater Sacramento region!
