Just like the nearby Denio's Farmer's Market, Tacos Don Juan is on-location every weekend of the year, selling delicious tacos, tortas, burritos and more from their catering truck.  If you're in the mood for the type of tacos that are sold on the streets of every Mexican village or city... Tacos Don Juan has your taste buds covered.

As with all restaurant reviews I publish, I have no affiliation with the restaurant reviewed, and there is no monetary gain on my part, as I am simply a person who likes to eat, and I love to write-up, and publish my dining experiences.

Photo:  Every weekend of the year, Tacos Don Juan sets up their catering truck in a vacant lot, next to Roseville Tire Center, on Atkinson Street, near Denio's.  Tijuana meets Roseville on this vacant lot every weekend!

It's shortly after 9 in the mooring on Saturday, May 04, 2019, the restaurant has just opened, and I'm in the mood to enjoy a few authentic, Mexican "street tacos."  The shady awning and picnic tables are part of the setup.  The couple in the photo were very friendly, and got quite a few laughs out of my photo taking.

Photo:  The limited menu is posted on the side of the food truck, and offers several varities of your Mexican favorites. Note the menu includes cabeza, lengua and tripa in the meat choices; these meat choices, especially tripa, can be a little difficult to fine in northern California.

Photo:  Like most catering trucks, Tacos Don Juan has side doors that open up, not only for the ordering/pick-up window, but to display iced-down cold drinks.

You make your selection from the menu on the side of the truck, place your order, and pay for it at the window, and when your order is ready, your name will be called.  On this mid Saturday morning, the restaurant had just opened, business was slow, so they didn't even bother to take my name.

Photo:  Meet Johnny, one of the friendly staff, who hands my plate of three tacos to me with a smile.  Another staff member looks on, behind the tinted window.  The staff was very friendly and accommodating, and were extremely interested when I told them that I'd be posting today's eating adventure on my web site, and on Yelp.

Photo:  My plate of three "Tacos de Tripa" - grilled tripe tacos - along with garnishes.  My sabroso!  The menu offers several varieties of meat to choose from, but today I chose tripa, as I love grilled tripe, and it's a little hard to come by in Roseville.

Just like in Mexico, each taco starts with two, toasted DVD-sized corn tortillas.  The grilled tripa is placed on top of the meat, along with diced white onion, diced cilantro, with lime slices, radish slices and a grilled jalapeno pepper - which is Don's trademark - on the side.  I have enjoyed "street tacos" during my many trips to Mexico, and the tacos served at Tacos Don Juan taste exactly like tacos you'd enjoy on the streets of Tijuana, or any other northern Mexican city or town.  Close your eyes, take a bite, and imagine that you're sitting at a small, outdoor restaurant in downtown Tijuana... one bite of these delicious tacos will instantly transport you to Mexico.

The tripa was sliced thin, cut into small pieces, and fried to a perfect, golden brown.  It was tender and juicy... as I bit into each amazing taco, I could not only taste the juice, but I could feel it!  Absolute perfection!  The diced white onion and cilantro was fresh and tender, and the pieces of grilled onion - which enhanced but didn't overpower each delicious taco - added a nice taste touch and enhanced the beautiful presentation. The signature jalapeno pepper was grilled, and it was a jalapeno pepper all right... hot!  But, what's not to love about a grilled jalapeno pepper?

"Tacos de Tripa" are one of those things that most "Norteamericanos" either love, hate, have never heard of, or are afraid to try. Personally, I love them, and the "Tacos de Tripa" served at Tacos Don Juan are both authentic and delicious.

Every weekend, when you're in the mood for delicious, authentic Mexican "street food," head over to Tacos Don Juan, located on Atkinson Street, near Denio's.  The food is delicious, the staff is friendly, and the price is right.  For a taste of Mexican "street food" in Roseville, pay a visit to Tacos Don Juan.
