December, 2024, where can you find a modest, but custom-cooked breakfast - not fast food - at a full-service, sit-down restaurant for $7.00? Does such a thing even exist at a full-service, sit-down restaurant? Yes it does, and it's served weekday mornings at IHOP, located North Sunrise Ave., in Roseville, CA. As with all of reviews that I publish, I have no affiliation with the restaurant reviewed, and there is no monetary gain on my part, as I am simply a person who likes to eat, and I love to write-up, and publish my dining experiences. Photo: It's a little past 08:00, Monday morning, December 30, 2024, and I've arrived at IHOP, located on North Sunrise Ave. in Roseville to enjoy a $7.00 weekday breakfast. I hiked six miles from my home on this chilly morning to enjoy a great breakfast at a bargain price. Photo: As you enter the lobby, you'll arrive at a counter, where you'll be greeted by a staff member, and seated. You can pay for your meal at your seat, or at this counter. It's all first come and first served, as IHOP doesn't take reservations. Note the Christmas tree is still decorated in the lobby. Photo: The dining room is spacious and furnished with a mixture of tables and booths. On this early Monday morning, the restaurant was lightly seated, which is a great reason why I prefer to dine early when it comes to breakfast! The Roseville location is open 24 hours a day, every day of the week. That's no surprise, as the restaurant is just off busy Interstate 80, and it receives a lot of traffic from the nearby freeway. Photo: The "House Faves" section of the breakfast menu is placed at every table, and offers one of the best breakfast deals in western Placer County. Photo: This diner seems to be engrossed in the menu, and she seems to be having difficulty making a choice. I was in the restaurant for around a half hour, and by the time I left, she still didn't seem to have made a choice. She did seem to be enjoying endless cups of coffee... Photo: My server, Michael, places my breakfast on the table. He was very welcoming, relaxed and provided excellent service. Service was super fast, as my breakfast arrived in less than 10 minutes after I placed my order. Photo: I'm ready to enjoy my "House Scramble" on this sunny, chilly Monday morning. My table, and all the tables in the restaurant are set with salt, pepper, ketchup and maple syrup, and if you like hot sauce, either Tabasco or Cholula, just ask your server and it will be brought to your table. This truly one of the most reasonably priced breakfasts you're going to find in all of western Placer County. Photo: From the $7.00 "House Faves" of the separate breakfast menu, I went with the "House Scramble," with my eggs scrambled, just like this selection is pictured on the menu. IHOP is happy to cook eggs to your choosing, but I went with scrambled. My breakfast began with a scramble of two eggs, two slices of bacon, topped with shredded melted and partially melted cheese. I didn't think the breakfast included meat, and I was surprised, dazzled and amazed to fine the scramble included two pieces of perfectly cooked bacon, cut up to the perfect size, which truly enhanced the fine egg scramble. The shredded Cheddar cheese topping added the final flair, and goodness to the delicious egg scramble. Accompanying the scramble was a slab of perfectly cooked hashbrowns, as they were a rich, golden brown on the outside, white, tender and juicy on the inside, which made for perfect hashbrowns. I added a touch of Cholula Hot Sauce on the side for fine dipping, as Cholula is MADE for eggs, and if it's available, I add it to every breakfast. This breakfast was simply delicious, as it was cooked perfectly, it arrived fresh and hot from the kitchen in a very timely manner, and at $7.00 plus state sales tax... you simply can't beat the price anywhere. You're talking about a custom-cooked, hot-from-the-kitchen breakfast, in a full-service, sit-down restaurant for about the same price as you'd pay for a soggy to-go bag of "stuff" from a fast food restaurant. Give me IHOP, Monday through Friday mornings, five days of the week. Portion size was modest, but not skimpy, and I found it just about the right size for my Monday morning appetite. If you're an NFL linebacker or a lumberjack, you might want to order a second breakfast. Photo: Delicious eggs, scrambled with pieces of bacon, topped with melted Cheddar cheese, with hash browns on the side. I added a but of Cholula Hot Sauce, which made for fine dipping. This modest breakfast was simply delicious, and a breakfast that would put a smile on the face of any "foodie" who appreciates a great breakfast. Yes, the breakfast was delicious, but the $7.00 - plus state tax - made the breakfast taste even better! You can't go wrong with any selection on the "House Faves" menu at IHOP, located in Roseville, CA. International House of Pancakes - IHOP Copyright(c) 2024 eRench Productions. All rights reserved.
