Tuesday, January 07, 2025, I enjoyed an amazing lunch at the weekday buffet, offered weekdays at La Huaca, located in Roseville, CA.  Today's buffet offered soup, bread, six entrees, three sides, two desserts, along with a fruit and salad bar.  Saturdays, holidays and Sundays offer more... and you can always enjoy "Bottomless Mimosas" at the buffet, every day of the week!

Check out the soup, entrees, sides and desserts that I enjoyed on today's visit.  I didn't get to sample the fruit or salad side of the house, as I simply didn't have the "room" to enjoy.  Cheers!

Photo:  "Aguadito de Pollo," which was the soup offered on the buffet today.  It's a traditional chicken soup, and a favorite in Peruvian cuisine.  The broth is made up of spices, pieces of chicken, intermixed with cilantro sauce, slow cooked for hours, with rice, carrot, celery, tomato and onion.

Photo:  "Frijol Peruano," which are Peruvian beans, a.k.a., "Canary beans," are yellow beans, native to Peru, and cooked soft and tender, in a rich sauce, and are similar to runny Mexican "refried beans" without the enhancements.

Photo:  "Pollo Saltado"  Thinly sliced pieces of chicken, stir-fried with onions, tomato wedges, light vinegar and soy sauce.

Photo:  "Pescado al Aji Amarillo" was today's lone offering of fish.  Fish marinated using in-house-made Aji Amarillo sauce, along with vegetables, including squash, broccoli, onion and tomato.

Photo:  Peru's take on "Baby Back" ribs is "Costillas en Salsa de Maracuya," which made for a fall-off-the-bone-tender dining entree.  Baby back ribs, marinated with in-house-created passion fruit sauce.

Photo:  "Pure Rustico," which are Rustic mashed potatoes, with parsley and red bell pepper.

Photo:  "Arroz con Pollo" is fried chicken, served on top of a bed of rice, cooked with cilantro, with lots of diced carrot, peas and red bell pepper.

Photo:  Rotisserie chicken in Peru?  Sure... It's "Pollo a la Brasa," which is Peruvian rotisserie roasted chicken.  It's marinated in a delicious blend of hers and spiced, and cooked a charcoal-fired oven imported from Peru.  Along with the chicken are "Peruvian Style Fries," which are thick steak fries, definitely on the soft side, and deep fried to a light, golden brown.

Photo:  "Seco de Pollo."  Boneless pieces of chicken braised in a cilantro beer sauce, with potatoes, peas and carrots.

Photo:  The two desserts offered on this Tuesday weekday buffet were "Arroz con Leche," and "Mazamorra Morada," both are popular desserts in Peru.

"Arroz con Leche" is white rice, served in sweetened condensed milk, evaporated milk and sprinkled with ground cinnamon.

"Mazamorra Morada" which is Peruvian purple corn pudding, is one of the most popular desserts in Peru.  It's made from purple corn, concentrated with starch, and spiced with cinnamon cloves.

The buffet had a large pot of steamed Jasmine rice as one of the sides, but I didn't sample any, as it looked identical to the Jasmine rice that I enjoy at home.
