It's always an honor to be the first customer, in other words, to "open up" a new restaurant, and today, I had the privelege of being the first customer of the new Fisher's Sandwich Shop, located in Rocklin, California.

As with all restaurant reviews I publish, I have no affiliation with the restaurant reviewed, and there is no monetary gain on my part, as I am simply a person who likes to eat, and I love to write-up, and publish my dining experiences.

Photo:  It's just after 10:30, Monday morning, February 25, 2019, and I'm going to be the first customer at the brand new Fisher's Sandwich Shop location, in Rocklin.  It truly is an honor to "open up" a new restaurant!

Photo:  As you enter the restaurant, you'll notice the shiny counter to the left, and the tables and chairs to the right. The restaurant works on what I call the "taqueria format" in that the menu is placed above the counter, you choose your selection, pay for it, pick a table, and when your order is ready, a friendly staff member will bring it to your table.

Note the restaurant is already "branded," as it carries the same brand and format as the Roseville location, which opened last year, and can be visited by clicking on the hyperlink.

The owner of the restaurant, Art Fisher, pictured on the left, is understandably very proud of his beautiful new store.

Photo:  The menu, placed above the counter, offers a wide selection of hot and cold sandwiches, along with a selection of salads.  Printed menus are available to take with you, should you care to order over the phone.

Photo:  Art invited me into the well-organized back room, for the grand tour.  I noted the temperature in the freezer behind him was -3, and the fridge was +36 degrees, which are perfect temperatures to keep meat and cheese fresh and ready to go.

Photo:  I looked over the menu - which differs slightly from the Roseville location - and decided on "The Big Maxx," as it sounded like just what I needed, and I'd never had the pleasure to enjoy this fine sandwich before.

Photo:  After I made my selection, Alex got to work making my sandwich.  This guy is not only a talented sandwich maker, but he's also fast, as my hot sandwich was ready less than five minutes after placing my order.

Photo:  Meet Mr. Alex Fisher, expert sandwich maker, as he presents my "The Big Maxx" sandwich, with a smile.

Photo:  Alex rings up my sandwich, as Art happily looks on.  In case you haven't guessed, the Fishers are father and son.  I definitely prefer to patronize family businesses, especially a restaurant like Fisher's Sandwich Shop, as not only do they prepare a superior sandwich, but they're nice, friendly people.

Photo:  From the "Fisher's Gourmet Hot Sandwiches" section of the menu,  I ordered "The Big Maxx" as roast beef sounded like what I needed at this late hour of the morning.

For meat, "Maxx" includes Certified Angus roast beef, along with barbecue sauce.  As an aside, all sandwiches prepared at Fisher's are made from the finest meat product, as the owner's pride themselves on using superior ingredients.  There are many condiments available, but I opted for "The Works," which includes mayonnaise, mustard, aioli, tomato, red onion, pickles, pepperoncinis, olives and lettuce.  When it comes to a sandwich, I love as much on it as possible!  There are several varieties of bread available and today, I chose Dutch crunch.

The sandwich was simply amazing!  The roll, the meat the garnishes... everything was super fresh, tasty and flavorful.  The sandwich was expertly prepared, with a beautiful presentation and the ingredients, e.g.., the "meat to garnish" ratio was perfect, as you could taste every ingredient, yet they all worked together to make a delicious sandwich.  Fisher's Sandwich Shop doesn't skimp on meat, so if you like meat, you've come to the right store.

Like the Roseville location, the Rocklin location of Fisher's Sandwich Shop serves what just might be the best sandwiches in western Placer County.  The bread is fresh, the vegetables are fresh and flavorful, and the meat is the of the highest quality.  When you're in the mood for a superior sandwich, check out Fisher's Sandwich Shop, located on Sunset Blvd., in Rocklin.
