Black Bear Diner has been open in Roseville since early January, 2013.  Shortly after the restaurant opened, the Sacramento Breakfast Club paid a visit, with very mixed results.  That was over four years ago, and I've been wanting to give the restaurant another try, and I especially wanted to try one of their burgers.  Things all came together on Tuesday, March 21, 2017, when my wife and I enjoyed lunch at Black Bear Diner, in Roseville.

As with all of my reviews, I have no affiliation with the restaurant reviewed, and there is no monetary gain on my part, as I am simply a person who likes to eat, and I love to write-up, and publish my dining experiences.

Photo:  It's early Tuesday afternoon, March 21, 2017, at Black Bear Diner in Roseville.  We're ready to enjoy lunch at this wonderful restaurant.

Photo:  As you enter the restaurant, you'll notice this sign.  Gee, I couldn't have said it better!

Photo:  The dining room is HUGE, but it's comfortable and cheerfully rustic.  A friendly greeter seats you as you enter the restaurant.

Photo:  The lunch menu is quite interesting, as it's printed on a piece of newspaper, and has all things about "black bears" printed on the menu.  Breakfast is served anytime at Black Bear Diner, which always gets my interest! However on this early Tuesday afternoon, I was focused on a burger, as burgers always have my interest.

Photo:  I just "had" to take a peek towards the kitchen.  Black Bear Diner prides themselves on "classic American diner cuisine," and they definitely deliver on their promise.  If you're a lover of "comfort food," as I am, Black Bear Diner will be your restaurant of choice.

Photo:  As I snapped the previous photo, our friendly server, Mike, walked by, with an order for another party.  He noticed my camera and asked if I'd be interested in a photo.  Yes!!!!  What a friendly guy!

Photo:  Our friendly server, Mike, delivers our lunch.  This guy was not only a great server, but a really nice person, and he made my wife smile.

Photo:  Thanks, Mike, for snapping our photo, as we are ready to enjoy a delicious lunch.

Photo:  My wife decided to go the expansive route, so she ordered the "California Burger," with an upgrade of onion rings, from fries.  This burger is BIG, and at the end of the day, I had to help her out, but it was good down to everything.

Photo:  My choice was retro, nay I say "old school?"  I ordered the "Old Fashioned Basket Combo" of a bacon cheeseburger, along with fries, in a basket.  May I say 1960's?  Bacon cheeseburger, along with fries in a basket?  I think I died and went to cheeseburger heaven!

Photo:  Close-up photo of my bacon cheese burger, along with the mountain of fries.  OK, the child in me used ketchup for the fries, which is a very bad habit of mine that I have not been able to break.

The bacon cheeseburger was simply delicious.  It was amazing!  The burger basket is the kind of meal that I remember as a child of the 1960's growing up with, and absolutely loving.  Fast forward to 2017 and this burger and fries combo is as good as it gets in my book.  Such an amazing lunch for under 10 bucks!

I simply say to make the Roseville location of Black Bear Diner as a "go-to" place for a great lunch.  If you love burgers, as I do, you'll be "wow'd!"  Simply said, we loved our burgers and we enjoyed today's lunch at Black Bear Diner.
