Are you looking for a great restaurant in Elk Grove, CA to enjoy amazing Thai cuisine, served by friendly staff, at a reasonable price?  You'll find the cuisine of Thailand, served daily at Thai Chili, located on Elk Grove Blvd., in Elk Grove, CA.

As with all of reviews that I publish, I have no affiliation with the restaurant reviewed, and there is no monetary gain on my part, as I am simply a person who likes to eat, and I love to write-up, and publish my dining experiences.

Photo:  It's 12:30 in the afternoon, Friday, September 20, 2024, and we've arrived at Thai Chili, located in Elk Grove, CA to enjoy an authentic Thai lunch.  The restaurant is located in a shopping center and allows plenty of convenient parking.

Photo:  The front of the restaurant offers three picnic tables for your outdoor dining pleasure.

Photo:  The dining room is quite compact, and is tastefully decorated as you'd expect in a Thai restaurant.  Just like practically every Thai restaurant, there is a portrait of King Maha Vajiralongkorn, who has been the head of state in Thailand since 2016.  The dining room is clean, comfortable and well organized.

Photo:  The menu is absolutely GIGANTIC - six pages in total - and offers all of your Thai favorites, with something for every taste listed on the menu.  This section of the menu especially grabbed my attention, as I adore the combination of barbecue and Thai peanut sauce.  "Praram Chicken with Peanut Sauce and Thai Fried Rice" was a natural choice for me.

Photo:  Part of our group's food is brought to the table.  I rarely dine with a large group, so this was a bit different experience than I normally photograph and publish.

Photo:  From the "Pan Fried Specials" section of the menu, here is "Garlic Shrimp and Thai Fried Rice."  The menu describes this fine dish as "Shrimp sauteed with garlic and pepper on a bed of steamed mixed vegetables, served with Thai fried rice.  That looks delicious!

Photo:  One of our servers hands Jane her lunch, as Anna eagerly awaits her plate.  The service at this fine restaurant was fast and friendly.

Photo:  From the "Barbecue" section of the menu, Anna went with "Thai Teriyaki Chicken and Thai Fried Rice," which was a similar lunch as mine.  The menu describes this fine entree as, "Grill marinated chicken on a bed of vegetables, with sweet and sour sauce and spicy lime sauce, served with Thai fried rice."

Photo:  From the "Barbecue" section of the menu, I went with "Praram Chicken with Peanut Sauce and Thai Fried Rice."  The menu describes this delicious entree as "Grilled, marinated chicken, served on a bed of vegetables with peanut sauce and Thai fried rice."  I describe this amazing dish with simply one word:  Delicious!

The main entree of the menu was the "Praram Chicken," which was marinated to give it a robust, subtle, yet sweet flavor which was simply unbelievably delicious!  Note to self:  I need to do some homework on Thai marinade.  The chicken was thinly sliced and grilled to perfection, complete with attractive grill marks.  When it comes to Thai chicken, beauty is only skin deep, as this chicken was juicy, super tender and flavorful.  Surprise! ... the chicken was already sliced, and since it was so tender, using a fork was a simple matter to cut it into bite size pieces, for dipping into the peanut sauce.  Such great Thai chicken!

The chicken was placed on a bed of steamed vegetables, which included sliced carrot, lettuce, broccoli, along with a slice or two of onion.  The veggies were fresh and tender, and especially delicious, since juice from the chicken dripped down to add extra flavor.

The "Thai Rice" was plated next to the chicken in a round ball, as per the way it's served in Thailand.  The rice was white rice, which I'm going to "assume" was cooked in chicken broth, rather than plain water, as it had a delicious, robust flavor, and was slightly golden brown in color.  A few peas, chopped carrot and onion graced the rice, to add color and flavor.  Oh my!  ... the rice was simply delicious, and it was so good that you could make a entire meal of it!

To complete this delicious lunch, a cup of creamy, rich Thai "Peanut Sauce" was included for dip, which amounted to the "frosting on the cake" when it came to dipping.  Wow!  I cut off small pieces of chicken, dipped it into the sauce, closed my eyes, took a bite and was instantly transported to Bangkok, during my Navy days.

I highly recommend this fine lunch!

Photo:  The grilled chicken was sliced from the kitchen, and so tender, you could cut it with a fork.  Using my fork, I cut slices into smaller portions, dipped them into the peanut sauce, and enjoyed a trip to Thailand, without leaving Elk Grove.

Photo:  Anna celebrates her birthday with a fine lunch of "Thai Chicken Teriyaki" along with a serving of "Coconut Ice Cream."  We let the friendly staff know we were celebrating Anna's birthday, and they gave her an order of this amazing ice cream, complete with a birthday candle, on the house.  Anna shared the ice cream with everyone, so we all got a taste of this simply delicious, rich vanilla ice cream, complete with sliced coconut.  Happy birthday, Anna!
