As the menu states... Bienvenidos and welcome!  You're talking about El Mexicali Cafe II, located in the SoCal desert city of Indio.  And... you're talking about delicious food, with a serious Mexican twist, Coachella Valley style...

As with all of reviews that I publish, I have no affiliation with the restaurant reviewed, and there is no monetary gain on my part, as I am simply a person who likes to eat, and I love to write-up, and publish my dining experiences.

Photo:  It's a little past 8 in the morning on Thursday, October 19, 2017, and we're ready to enjoy breakfast at El Mexicali Cafe II.  The restaurant is located in a strip mall on Monroe Street, which is one of the main streets in Indio, and there is plenty of easy parking.

Photo:  As you enter the restaurant, a white board displays the daily specials.  The watermelon margarita looked tempting, but at 8:15 in the morning, we decided to pass.  The dining room is very comfortable, and is furnished mostly in tables and chairs.

Photo:  Michael checks out the menu as I take a photo of the dining room, near the entry way and the kitchen in the background.  I call the kitchen "semi open" in that you can easily see into it, to watch the staff in action, but it's not really accessible for photography.  In many cases, you can just walk into a kitchen to take photos, but that voids most insurance, and is definitely against my self-enforced code of ethics, when it comes to photography.

Photo:  A very small portion of the menu that we homed in on.  It was just past 8 in the morning, and we looked at the breakfast selections, and for some reason, we decided to order the #1 Combination from the menu.  Michael reasoned since today was our first visit to El Mexicali Cafe II, it would be good to begin at the beginning, which sounded good to me.

Photo:  Our friendly hostess, Rosa, takes Michael's order.  After we were seated, she immediately brought out chips and salsa.  Today, we really didn't feel like coffee, so instead we ordered ice water.

Photo:  View of the semi-open kitchen, from out table.  At a little past 8 on this Thursday morning, there was only one other table seated besides us, as Mexican restaurants seem to be lightly seated most mornings, and El Mexicali Cafe II seemed to be no exception.

Photo:  Our friendly server, Rosa, brings our #1 Combination dinners - yes it was breakfast time - to our table with a smile.

Photo:  My brother, Michael and I smile as Rosa takes our photo.  Michael suggested that since today was our first visit to El Mexicali Cafe II that we order from the "top of the menu" and the #1 Combination seemed like a good place to start.  So we ordered identical combination dinners for breakfast.  Everything on the menu is available anytime the restaurant is open, so if you desire dinner for breakfast, or breakfast for dinner, you can order it.

Photo:  My "dinner" for breakfast, which was the #1 Combination dinner from the "Combinations" section of the menu.  Taco, enchilada, rice and beans... how can you beat that?  Michael and I ordered identically, and both of us loved our "dinners" for breakfast at El Mexicali Cafe II, in Indio, California.

You'll love the food... you'll love the friendly service... you'll love the clean, modern dining room.  The service is fast, the staff is friendly, and the food is delicious.  You'll love everything about El Mexicali Cafe II.  If you're up early, and you're in the need for breakfast in Indio, CA, and you want a Mexican "twist" to start off your day, a breakfast at El Mexicali Cafe II should be on your list.
