My eyes are always open for taco trucks, and during travels through the San Joaquin Valley city of Turlock, I noticed Sanchez Taqueria, housed in a taco truck, parked on the south side of town, along Golden State Blvd. Every time I passed the truck, the restaurant seemed crowded, which means the place serves good food, without any health concerns.  On late Wednesday morning, September 10, 2014, I was heading home from a Yosemite camping trip, and passed by Sanchez Taqueria, and noticed it was empty of customers.  Today was my lucky day!

Photo:  Sanchez Taqueria is located in a taco truck, and it's parked every day at the same location, along South Golden State Blvd., near a tire shop.  I've passed by this restaurant many times, and wanted to stop, but each time, it was just too crowded, and the tables were full.  I don't like to eat standing up!  Today, Wednesday, September 10, 2014, the place was empty, so I swooped in and made my move, before it filled up for the lunch crowd.  Note Sanchez Taqueria offers shaded, patio dining, which is a rarity for many taco truck restaurants.

Photo:  The menu is posted on the side of the truck, and limited to tacos, burritos, quesadillas, tortas and sodas. Note the large selection of taco filling, and the very reasonable prices.  I ordered my tacos with everything, and I ordered the toppings to be spicy.

Photo:  Sanchez Taqueria is owned and operated by a husband and wife team.  Wife does the cooking, and hubby takes orders, makes change, delivers the tacos, and does cleanup work.  There is no air conditioning, so it must get quite warm in the truck on the many hot, Turlock, summer days.  Hubby delivers my plate of tacos to the window.  There were ready about 10 minutes after I placed, and paid for my order.

Photo:  Mmmmm... I smile, as I know I'm ready to enjoy a delicious lunch, at a bargain price!

Photo:  Today, I ordered a variety of tacos for my lunch:  Tripas, cabeza and pastor, with a Jarritos fruit punch soda to enjoy.  I ordered "everything" on the tacos, and not the abundance of garnishes offered with every taco.  Each taco was built using two small corn tortillas, and were piled high with juicy meat, and lots of veggies.  The tacos were juicy, delicious, and were just a little spicy, as I ordered them, and the cool garnishes really made the tacos delicious.  The tacos were very similar to "street" tacos, that you purchase from street vendors, on the streets of any Mexican city or town.  At $1.25 each, these tacos represent an OUTSTANDING bargain.

The price of my lunch was only $4.50 for three tacos and a Jarritos, and you can't beat that!  Great tacos, nice people, and a bargain-basement price make Sanchez Taqueria a great place to enjoy delicious tacos.
