Big city dining in the small, foothill town of Mariposa? Yes, it happens at Miner's Roadhouse 140 restaurant... Photo: On this Friday morning, August 23, 2013, Miners Roadhouse 140 was packed with firefighters, thanks to a couple of wildfires burning near Yosemite National Park. Photo: Miners Roadhouse has a large dining room, with a comfortable mixture of tables and chairs. It also features several large-screen televisions, and a full-service bar. Despite the faux "sports bar atmosphere," the place is mostly a restaurant. Photo: Our server, Joy, really didn't want her photo taken, but I did it anyway, as Michael seems to enjoy the moment. Photo: Thanks, Joy, for taking the photo of my brother, Michael and I, as we prepare to enjoy breakfast. Photo: I ordered corn beef hash, two fried eggs, over easy, along with biscuits and gravy. The menu selection included hash brown potatoes, and, oddly, my order arrived with nary a hash brown. I queried our server, Joy about that omission, and she said that hash browns are no longer included, and the menu hasn't been updated. For $9.75, I would assume hash brown potatoes would be included! Needless to say, I wasn't thrilled... The breakfast - what there was of it - was delicious, but it's unlikely that I'll return. The food was good, and so was the service. The restaurant was very busy on this Friday morning, and packed with tourists heading to nearby Yosemite National Park. Miner's Roadhouse 140 is a restaurant that you could have in mind the next time you visit Mariposa. Caveat: Ask the server what is exactly included when you make your selection, so you don't make the mistake that I did. Miners
