What elements make up a great breakfast restaurant? Good food, friendly and attentive staff, attractive facilities, reasonable prices, bottomless coffee cup, attractive presentation and large portions, are definite qualifications. The Waffle Barn, located in a small, upscale shopping center on Pleasant Grove Blvd. in Roseville, California, and is one of the most highly-regarded breakfast restaurants in Roseville. Photo: Waffle Barn is located in a small, upscale strip mall, in a newer part of Roseville. Love the classic Chevy truck! On this Friday morning, October 25, 2013, the weather is perfect for outdoor dining, but we chose to dine indoors. Photo: The comfortable dining room is decorated with a "country" decor, and is also adorned by Sacramento Kings basketball sports memorabilia. the dining room offers a great mixture of tables and booths, and also features a great breakfast counter. Photo: Our friendly server, Lisa, brings Sharlene's breakfast of bacon, scrambled eggs and waffle. Sharlene and Bev enjoyed identical breakfasts, and our bill, and Bev and Dan's bill were identical, to the exact penny. I've never seen that before! Photo: If you're a breakfast lover, you'll find Waffle Barn's breakfast menu amazing! If you love omelets, you'll be dazzled and amazed, as they have a wide array to choose from. After pouring over the menu, I finally chose a new item on their menu, "The Hot Corral." All omelets come standard with hash brown potatoes, country potatoes, or various varieties of toast, plus, the de facto California standard, biscuits and gravy. My choice of sides was homestyle potatoes and biscuits and gravy, as per my normal method-of-operation. As for "The Hot Corral," it includes chorizo, diced jalapeno pepper slices, onions, and it's topped with pepper jack cheese. This breakfast is amazingly delicious, but due to the pickled jalapeno slices, I did a bit of sweating. It's spicy, but "do-able" and simply delicious! The bottom line is: Take our word, as we're breakfast fanatics, and visit the restaurant, and enjoy their friendly service and wonderful cuisine. You'll be glad that you did. Waffle
