What elements make up a great breakfast restaurant? Good food, friendly and attentive staff, attractive facilities, reasonable prices, bottomless coffee cup, attractive presentation and large portions, are definite qualifications. The Waffle Barn, located in a small, upscale shopping center on Pleasant Grove Blvd. in Roseville, California, exceeds all our expectations, so it seemed natural for us to hold the first meeting of 2013 at Waffle Barn, on Friday, January 04, 2013. Photo: Waffle Barn is located in a small, upscale strip mall, in a newer part of Roseville. It offers outdoor dining, but on this 32-degree morning, there are no takers. That's our 2002 Toyota Sienna van, which we somehow acquired "rock star" parking, up-close, and personal. Check out the classic Cadillac DeVille... isn't that a 1977 model? Photo: Our friendly server, Sean, takes Dan's order. The window to the kitchen can be seen directly over Sean's left shoulder, along with the breakfast counter. The decor of the dining room could be described as both "country," and "sports," with lots of memorabilia of the local N.B.A. team, the Sacramento kings. Photo: Sean places Bev's order on English Muffin on the table, as he arrives with an armload of our breakfasts. Photo: Today's members of the Sacramento Breakfast Club, from left to right: David DeMario, Mary Rupp, Eric Rench, Sharlene Rench, Bev MacLeod and Dan MacLeod. Photo: Oh yes!!!! Waffle Barn serves a delicious breakfast! My delicious breakfast of biscuits and gravy, Polish sausage, two fried eggs, and country potatoes, with lots of bell pepper and white onions. Simply delicious! The bottom line is: Take our word, as we're breakfast fanatics, and visit the restaurant, and enjoy their friendly service and wonderful cuisine. You'll be glad that you did. Waffle
