Back in October, 2010, the Sacramento Breakfast Club enjoyed an outstanding breakfast meeting at Early Toast, at their original location, in Folsom.  News gets around, and we heard they opened a new location in Roseville, so on Friday, April 12, 2013, we held our first meeting in April at Early Toast, at the Roseville location.

Photo:  Early Toast enjoys a great, courtyard location next to Nugget Market, in a sparkling new, upscale shopping center in Roseville.  Patio dining is offered, and on this beautiful April morning, the Sacramento Breakfast Club was tempted to dine outside, due to the sunshine, and the 70-degree weather.  However, the outdoor tables cater for small groups, and they don't lend to be pushed together, so our large group opted to dine indoors.

Photo:  If only my camera had a truly wide angle lens!  When you enter the restaurant, the full-service bar is to the right, along with a small dining area, and the main dining is to the left.  A black board announces daily, and bar specials.  Since we enjoyed a large membership at today's meeting, it took the staff a few minutes to push several tables together to accommodate today's members.  As the photo shows, the restaurant is clean, comfortable, and very attractive.

Photo:  Our friendly servers, Jamie and Mario.  These folks are not only great, friendly servers, but they're super-nice people!  They made us feel at home, and treated us like family.

Photo:  I spent a bit of time surfing Early Toast's web site - the U.R.L. is at the end of this article - and ruminating over the breakfast choices.  I remembered my choice from our previous visit - biscuits, gravy, sausage, bacon - and my inclination told me to order the "Roseville Omelet," since we were at the Roseville location.  Due to my love of Mexican food, I deferred, but David stepped up to the plate and ordered the "Roseville Omelet," which is featured in this photo.  OK, the omelet includes four eggs, jack cheese, chicken apple sausage and onions.  You get to choose between hash brown or homestyle potatoes, and David chose homestyle potatoes.  David reported the breakfast was excellent...

Photo:  For me, up-close, and personal, as I couldn't resist ordering "Chorizo and Eggs," from the "International" section of the menu.  The meal is a delicious cornucopia of scrambled eggs, mixed with chorizo, peppers, onions, beans, and either flour or corn tortillas.  For me... corn tortillas, of course.  Coffee is optional, but for me, it's always a necessary component of breakfast.  The beans were something that you'd think your grandmother made, the eggs and chorizo were delicious, spicy, but not hot, and the tortillas were fresh, warm, and smelled like they had just been taken off the tortilla press.  In a word?  ... delicious!  Jamie asked me if I'd like another order of tortillas, and of course I said, "yes," and she brought me another order of tortillas, gratis.  What a nice touch!

After breakfast, outside the restaurant in the parking lot, we held the customary post mortem meeting to compare notes - it seems that today's breakfast club members were in complete agreement, in regards to the Folsom location and the Roseville restaurant.  So, we agree that:

    *  Food is delicious... end of story
    *  Presentation is stunning
    *  Dining room d
écor is comfortable and attractive
    *  Service is fast, friendly and efficient
    *  Good value for your money
    *  The total package represents an outstanding breakfast experience

We didn't get to experience the full-service bar... Give me a break, at 9 O’clock in the morning?  But the bar looks inviting, and perhaps we can call an "emergency" lunch meeting to check it out at a later date.  As far as breakfast is concerned, Early Toast is a welcome neighbor in the Roseville breakfast community, and is highly recommended by members of the Sacramento Breakfast Club.
