Photo: El Rincón del Sabor Fresh Mexican Grill is located in an upscale, clean, strip mall on East Bidwell Street, in Folsom, and at 0745 on this sunny Friday morning, both the restaurant, and the parking lot were deserted, except for my green Camry.
Photo: El Rincón del Sabor is a cross between a fast food, and a sit-down restaurant, as you place your order for food and drink at the counter, pay for it, sit down at a table, and when your order is ready, the counter-guy will bring it to the table. Curiously, El Rincón doesn't offer coffee, even though they have a extensive breakfast menu, which features traditional Mexican favorites, and lots of American classics, such as pancakes, bacon and eggs, and much more. You can purchase a bottled soft drink from one of the coolers, or you can buy a cup, and enjoy the all-you-can-drink fountain drinks, which feature Coca Cola products and ice tea. In the photo, David, Sharon, Bev and Dan are placing their orders from the friendly counter guy. The salsa bar, which features several varieties of delicious in-house made salsa and the coke dispenser are to the left of the counter.

Photo: Our server brings Sharon's order of a full stack of pancakes, and a side of chorizo to the table. The pancakes were very large, and the side order of chorizo was very generous, and ultimately Sharon offered much of her chorizo to me to finish off, and I gladly accepted. Prior to our visit, Sharon visited El Rincón's web site and downloaded a 20% off coupon for two or meals together on one check, so Sharon, David and I went in together. Our three full breakfasts, including drinks and Sharon's side of chorizo, came to only $21.33!!!! Talk about a screamin' bargain!!! We're used to paying $10 to $15.00 each for breakfast, so El Rincón was a bargain for us - and no tip is expected - but I did put a couple of bucks in the fishbowl on the counter and complemented the counter guy on the meal, and thanked him for his hospitality.

Photo: My gigantic breakfast of chorizo and eggs, home style potatoes, and four corn tortillas, wrapped in butcher paper. I've already garnished my breakfast with a generous helping of the roasted garlic salsa from their salsa bar, and the salsa was fresh, smoky, and not at all hot. Note the plastic utensils; you grab utensils, straws and napkins from a counter near the soda dispenser. The food was delicious, and the price was beyond reasonable, and the only thing we missed was the lack of coffee. After enjoying a delicious breakfast at El Rincón del Sabor, we held our usual breakfast post-mortem meeting in the parking lot, and all of us agreed that the food was delicious, fresh, the quantities were huge, the prices were rock-bottom low, and the food was muy sabroso.
