Jessie's Country Kitchen as a motto printed on their menu which reads, "Home-style cooking in a family friendly atmosphere," which definitely sums up our breakfast experience on Friday, June 8, 2012, as we enjoyed a great meeting of the Sacramento Breakfast Club at Jessie's Country Kitchen.
Photo: Jessie's Country Kitchen has been in their current location for about two months, having moved from a tricky-to-find location in Granite Bay. You may recall, back in December of 2010, we paid a visit to Jessie's Country Café, as it was know in those days. Today's new location is much easier to find, offers lots of parking, and has a much larger dining room. The menu is very similar to the former location, but has had a few minor changes and updates. Anyway you look at it, Jessie's Country Kitchen is a fine place to enjoy breakfast! The chicken mascot was alive and well on Fair Oaks Blvd, out of the photo, and to the left of the sign. Since the restaurant faces west, a 0900 photo doesn't bring out the best of anything, as the shadows are cast in the wrong direction, and definitely didn't favor the chicken mascot.
Photo: Yes, that's a full-service bar in the rear of the photo! Jessie's offers comfortable and spacious dining. It wasn't a problem to push several tables together to accommodate today's large group.
Photo: Melissa fills ol' fruit jars with ice water from behind the bar. We've been treated to Melissa's company before, as she worked at the former location of Jessie's, and prior to that, she worked at Charlie's Café. Click on the hyperlink to see her in action at Charlie's Café, back in March, 2008.
Photo: Maureen, who was our friendly server, poses with my platter of meatloaf and eggs. Maureen is a co-owner of the restaurant, and she was more than happy to welcome our group, who she remembered from our visit a couple of years ago to their Granite Bay location.
Photo: Jessie's Country Kitchen features an extensive breakfast menu, and it includes "S.O.S.," which was hard for me to resist, but l simply couldn't resist ordering meatloaf and eggs, which is one of my favorites. OK, Melissa kept our coffee cups filled with delicious coffee; l can't go a day without coffee, and l admit that l'm addicted to coffee. Now that we got that out of the way... we'll start with the meatloaf. Maureen told me that it is a family recipe, and l have to agree, as all l can say is "What a way to start out a day with meatloaf at Jessie's Country Kitchen!!!!" Yes, I got a BIG piece of meatloaf, made family-style, and you can't really see it in the photo, but it had a thick piece of bacon attached to the meatloaf. Oh yes! And it was covered with savory, brown, beef gravy! Yes! Then perfectly hash brown potatoes and two perfectly cooked eggs over easy. Of course I ordered biscuits and gravy as a side - forget toast when biscuits and gravy are an option - and I wasn't disappointed, as my whole order was wonderful! Oh yes, check out the presentation... it's beautiful! Jessie's Country Kitchen rocks the breakfast world!

You just can't go wrong with breakfast at Jessie's Country Kitchen, as the food is delicious, the service is friendly and efficient, and you'll never leave hungry, as the portions are large. You will always leave full, and with a smile on your face. Jessie's Country Kitchen is highly recommended by the Sacramento Breakfast Club. Jessie's
