For the last three years, it's been a holiday tradition for the Sacramento Breakfast Club to hold a meeting at one of our favorite restaurants, Charlie's Café, on Christmas Eve. In 2010, Christmas Eve fell on a Friday, which made it a perfect morning to enjoy a delicious breakfast at Charlie's Café, and to spend the day-before-Christmas with family and friends, doing what we do best, enjoying breakfast at Charlie's! Photo: The sign pretty much says it all: Charlie's Café features home style cooking and good ol' American comfort food, which hits the spot on this chilly Christmas Eve morning. Photo: Friendly Gina takes Sharlene's order, as the rest of today's members contemplate the many breakfast choices that Charlie's menu offers. Charlie's Café is open for breakfast and lunch only, so you know they're serious about breakfast! Photo: Co-owner Charlie poses for my digital camera as she brings Sharlene's and Bev's breakfast to the table. Photo: Matt and Sarah are awed as Dan daintily pours his side order of gravy on his homestyle potatoes. Dan truly loves breakfast burritos and gravy, and this was his way of toasting Sacramento Breakfast Club alumnus, Brad Holther, who found greener pastures, more gravy, and better breakfast restaurants on the east coast. Photo: This breakfast will keep you going for the rest of the day! My order of biscuits and gravy, chicken fried steak, homestyle potatoes, three eggs over medium, and a bottomless cup of coffee. Charlie's chicken fried steak is as good as it gets...
