Milo's Cheesesteaks and Gyros has been open for a couple of years, and I frequently walk by the restaurant on my daily walks, but I'm usually in the area well before the opening time of 1000 in the morning.  On early Wednesday afternoon, December 4, 2013, after finishing running errands, I found myself near Milo's, and decided to stop by, and enjoy a cheesesteak sandwich for lunch.

Photo:  Milo's Cheeseteaks and Gyros is located in a tiny suite in the Pleasant Grove Pavilions shopping center, in west Roseville.  It offers several tables on the sidewalk, for patio dining, which are hidden by my green Camry.  On this chilly 43-degree December afternoon, there aren't any outdoor diners.

Photo:  Milo's dining room is very small, and has space for about eight tables, and all but a couple of tables are tables for two.  The menu is posted above the counter, where you place your order, and pay for it.  The kitchen can be seen, through the open door, in the center of the photo.  Note the self-service Coca-Cola dispenser to the right of the photo, which was a disappointment today, as they were out of Coke!  I settled for root beer.  Speaking of beer, root beer is as close to alcohol as you can get at Milo's, as no beer, wine or anything with alcohol is served.  Today, I was driving, so it wasn't a problem!  I had just placed my order and paid for it, as I snapped this photo, the friendly counter-guy, Ollie, was relaxing, and surfing the web with his phone.  Maybe he was looking at this web site?  As the photo clearly shows, it's Christmas time at Milo's (pronounced MEE low's) Cheesesteaks and Gyros.

Photo:  My meal was placed on my table in less than five minutes after ordering.  Folks, that's fast!  I asked Ollie if I could take his photo, gave him a brief "mission statement," and he wholeheartedly agreed, and thanked me for giving them a bit of free advertising.  As you can see, he was a very enthusiastic subject to photograph!

Photo:  Sure why not?  I had Ollie to snap my photo, with my meal on the table in front of me.  I looked around me, and there were three other tables seated, and the phone rang continuously for take-out orders.  From what I noticed, Milo's fills a lot of take-out, and advance orders over the phone.  Too bad they don't have a web site!

Photo:  Milo's serves ten varieties of Philly Cheese Steak sandwiches, and all sandwiches, by themselves, are priced at $6.49.  For an additional $2.50, you can make it a "combo meal," which includes your choice of seasoned fries or a house salad, and a 24-oz drink.  The drink is bottomless, as you can hit the soda machine as many times as your thirst will allow it.  I normally go the "salad route," but today, I had the urge for fries, and I'm glad that I did.

Photo:  I decided to go the conservative route, so I ordered the "Original Steak" Philly Cheese Steak sandwich, which includes grilled onion and cheese.  The sandwich seemed to be around 6" long, and was LOADED with lots of grilled steak, onion slices, and gooey cheese.  All ingredients meshed together, complimented each other, and each bit contained LOTS of steak, cheese and onion.  Altogether, a delicious sandwich.  The fries were crunchy on the outside, soft on the inside - the way I like my fries - lightly salted, and seasoned with... whatever ... I couldn't see nor taste any seasoning.  The fries were delicious by themselves and didn't need any ketchup, but I added some, as I the kid in me likes to dip my fries in ketchup.   This was an excellent lunch, and a good value!

The sandwich was excellent, the service was extremely fast, the staff was very friendly, the price was reasonable, and the dining room was comfortable.  The only thing I missed was a beer, but since I had to drive home, most likely I would have passed on enjoying a beer with my lunch.  When you're in the mood for a delicious Philly Cheese Steak sandwich, check out Milo's Cheesesteaks and Gyros.
