Mario's Early Toast is a small chain of two restaurants located in Roseville, CA.  The "flagship" and original location is located in east Roseville, also known as Granite Bay, and management has recently opened another more centrally-located store on Douglas Blvd.

For unknown reasons, it's taken me some time to some time to pay a visit to Mario's, but things happened  in my favor on this Friday morning, as I enjoyed an amazing breakfast at Mario's Early Toast, located in Roseville, CA.

As with all restaurant reviews I publish, I have no affiliation with the restaurant reviewed, and there is no monetary gain on my part, as I am simply a person who likes to eat, and I love to write-up, and publish my dining experiences.

Photo:  Mario's Early Toast is located on Sierra College Blvd, just north of Douglas Blvd, in Roseville, in the Granite Bay area of town.  The restaurant is a little hard to find, as it's tucked away off busy Sierra College Blvd.  Just look for Taco Bell, as Mario's is located just in back of the Taco Bell store, although that could be easily missed, as the Granite Bay neighborhood doesn't allow outdoor sighnage.

It's a little after 7 in the morning, Friday, July 31, 2020, and I've arrived at Mario's Early Toast to enjoy breakfast.

Note that Mario's has set up temporary dining in the parking lot, in front of the restaurant, as per state mandated orders, banning most indoor dining.

Photo:  Thanks to the COVID-19 virus, California state mandates, and Placer County, Mario's Early Toast can't offer indoor dining.  No worries, as the restaurant has set up "dining" outside in front of the restaurant, and has set up an attractive impromptu patio for fine dining in the parking lot.

You simply seat yourself at a table, without even entering the restaurant, and a friendly staff member will greet you, give you a menu, and treat you like family.

Just in my opinion, as a "foodie" and a diner, I prefer patio dining, as food always tastes better outside.

Photo:  Today's "Specials" were posted on a board, which looked interesting, but really didn't tempt me.

Photo:  I donned my mask, and entered the restaurant and noticed the bar, which is deserted on these "virus infested" days in Roseville.  Actually, if you want any drinks from the bar, the staff will be happy to mix your drink, or your mimosa, and serve it to you, outside on the patio.

Photo:  As per California state orders, the dining room is deserted, as all dining is outdoors on the patio.

Photo:  I take a peek into the kitchen.  Mario's Early Toast doesn't showcase an "open kitchen" but you can look into the kitchen, if you're interested.

Photo:  My super friendly server, Nelli, pours me a Modelo Negro which is on tap.  Yes, it's breakfast, but what way could you get your day started than by enjoying a fine Mexican beer for breakfast?

Photo:  The breakfast menu of "Combinations, Omelettes and Skillets."  Every offering on the menu looked amazing, but I ended up with the "Biscuits and Gravy Combo," as this menu choice was something that I could never resist.

Photo:  Flipping over to the "Mexican" side of the menu, I found many choices that could tempt me forever...

Photo:  My friendly host, Nelli B., brings my condiment bar along with a beer to my table, behind a masked smile. Did I say beer?  Yes!  I ordered a Modelo Negro beer for breakfast... I like beer. It brings out the "German" in me.

Photo:  The "condiment bar," along with my Modelo Negro beer.  Note the "condiment bar" includes Cholula hot sauce, which in my humble opinion, is on of the best condiments to accompany any meal.

Photo:  Meet my amazing friendly host, Nelli B., who is smiling behind his state-mandated mask, as he delivers my breakfast to me with a smile.  Nilli was not only a great server, but he was a great person to "chit-chat" with, as he went about his chores.

I "opened up" the restaurant, and he was the only host on duty, but as I left, I noticed other staff members were arriving.

No worries as Nelli was an outstanding host, and is a great person.

Photo:  Thanks, Nelli, for snapping my photo, as I prepare to enjoy an outstanding breakfast outside, on the parking lot.

Even is the state didn't mandate outside dining, I prefer to dine outside whenever the option is available, as in my humble opinion, food always tastes better outside.

Photo:  From the "Combinations, Omelettes and Skillets" section of the breakfast menu, I chose to order "Biscuits and Gravy Combo."  How could I resist such a choice, as everything I love about breakfast is served on this plate.

You have the option of your eggs cooked "your way" so in my case, the eggs were cooked "over easy," and the menu gives you the choice between hash brown potatoes or or "house potatoes."  Either choice would be amazing, but I chose hash browns...

"Biscuits and Gravy" is the title on the menu of this amazing breakfast.  You get two fresh, in-house baked biscuits topped with some of the best sausage gravy that Roseville has to offer.  The biscuits are fresh, "chunky" and just full of energy and goodness.  Then... Mario's tops them with sausage gravy that you have to taste to believe, as it's that great! We're talking about perfectly seasoned sausage gravy, with lots of chunks of sausage.  The gravy is so juicy and thick that it could almost make for a meal by itself... add the gravy to the chunky biscuits, and this is the "star" of the breakfast.

I was impressed that the "Biscuits and Gravy" portion arrived in a separate plate.  Mario's is serious about providing amazing biscuits and gravy for your breakfast.

Let's not leave out the hash brown potatoes.  I LOVE hash brown potatoes, but most hash brown potatoes you enjoy in restaurants are delicious, "usual" and totally wonderful.  Not so at Mario's Early Toast!  The chef has talent, as the hash browns were cooked really crispy golden on the outside - perfect - and tender, white and juicy on the inside.  Such a unique blend of crispy golden on the outside, while tender white and juicy inside!  I've enjoyed delicious hash brown potatoes, but the hash browns I enjoyed at Mario's this Friday morning were some of the best hash browns that I've enjoyed in a long time.  Come for the hash brown potatoes, lol!

My two fried eggs were cooked to my order, over easy, and the bacon and sausage was cooked "medium" - I didn't ask my server to have my meat cooked in any specific way - and was delicious, but totally "typical" of bacon or sausage that you'll find at any fine restaurant.  No worries, as the "Biscuits and Gravy Combo" provides lots of meat, and is certain to satisfy a hungry appetite.

Combine everything together - this sounds like a "math" equation - and it all adds up to an amazing breakfast at Mario's Early Toast.

Photo:  My "Biscuits and Gravy Combo" breakfast, sans the biscuits and gravy, but showing the plate of hash brown potatoes, fried eggs, along with the bacon and sausage.  You can't beat this delicious breakfast!

I ordered my eggs fried "over easy" and the eggs arrived a little on the "hard" side, but it all worked out, and my breakfast was delicious.

Mario's website states, "Where friends, family and enthusiastic food lovers come together to eat delicious meals and savory food, enjoying each other's company in a warm, relaxed and casual atmosphere."  That statement is SO true, as Mario's Early Toast is a good choice for fine dining, for "foodies," and anybody who appreciates delicious food and friendly service.

You may be interested to check out a visit I paid to the newly-opened Roseville location of Mario's, located on Douglas Blvd.  As I was getting my van serviced, I hiked the short couple of miles and enjoyed an amazing breakfast at the new Roseville location of Mario's Early Toast.  Click on the link to enjoy the visit!

I highly recommend Mario's Early Toast for a fine dining experience.
