You know, it's funny, but I've been driven by this place for years, and somehow, I'd never taken the time to go inside and see what this restaurant had to offer.  After attending a political meeting today, all changed about 1130 on Saturday morning, June 10, 2017, as I made the time to stop into Jalisco Fresh Grill and enjoy a bowl of delicious menudo, and drink some fine Pacifico beer.  Oh yes... I've never met a beer that I didn't love, but of all the beers in the world, Pacifico has to be my favorite beer...

Photo:  Jalisco Fresh Grill is located in a upscale, small shopping center, on the east side of Roseville, bordering on the Granite Bay area.  Jalisco Fresh Grill is a small chain of two restaurants, the other restaurant is located in West Roseville, on Pleasant Grove Blvd.  Click on this link to review my visit to the other location, back in 2011.

Photo:  As you enter the restaurant, the first thing you'll see is the menu and the order counter.  You choose from the items posted on the menu, or if you're web-inclined, you can order off the Internet, but you get to deal with the friendly guy at the counter, which is a pleasure, as this gentleman is super friendly, and us very customer-focused!

Like most taquerias, you make your selection from the menu, pay for it, and you'll receive a number, and when your order is ready, it will be brought to you.  While you're waiting for your order to arrive, help yourself to the bottomless chips and salsa bar, which is one of the best chip/salsa bars to be found in Roseville.

Photo:  On this late Saturday morning, the weather was clear, and the temperature was in the low 70's, so it was a perfect day for me to enjoy the beautiful patio.

Photo:  I was still helping myself to chips and salsa at the chips/salsa bar when my order arrived, maybe about 2 minutes after paying for it.  That's FAST, faster than fast foods, so I definitely give Jalisco Fresh Grill the "fast award."

Photo:  Thanks to the friendly gentleman who brought order to me for snapping the photo.  My tortillas haven't arrived, as it took him a second trip to deliver my tortillas.

Photo:  My bowl of menudo, along with cilantro, onion, red pepper and lime for garnishes, tortillas, along with  a helping of chips and salsa from the chips/salsa bar.  Of course there's an icy-cold Pacifico beer to make the delicious lunch even better.  This is definitely a Mexican "comfort food" breakfast!

The menudo was delicious, tasty, flavorful, and mildly spicy, yet suitable for any taste.  If you love menudo, this hits the spot.  The only complaint I have is there was a chunk of calf knuckle in the soup, which you can't eat, and takes place of some of the tripe.  On the other hand, that's not unusual, as by noon, the pot of menudo is usually finished, so you're getting pretty much what's left over.  Yes the menudo was delicious, but there was only one small problem... price.

$12.49 for a medium bowl of menudo, and all the fixin's, along with unlimited trips to the chip/salsa bar.  When you add a beer, the price of a very simple lunch came to change under $19.00!  That's steep, way too steep.  Yes, the menudo is delicious, but that price is way, way to high.

Silly me, before ordering, I should have checked the price of menudo.  The other items on the menu are a tad on the high side, but more in line with other area Mexican restaurants.  Although I enjoyed my menudo, next time I visit Jalisco Fresh Grill, something else will be on my agenda...
