I really don't know how The Dive Burgers & Brews got it's name, "The Dive," as it's anything but a "dive."  This fine restaurant is located in a small, upscale shopping center in one of the more exclusive sections of Rocklin, and the restaurant is squeaky clean, modern, comfortable, and serves some of the best burgers that I've had the pleasure to enjoy for a long time.  What's in a name?

As with all restaurant reviews I publish, I have no affiliation with the restaurant reviewed, and there is no monetary gain on my part, as I am simply a person who likes to eat, and I love to write-up, and publish my dining experiences.

Photo:  The Dive Burgers & Brew is located in a small, upscale shopping center on the east side of Rocklin, CA.  It's a little after 2 in the afternoon, Saturday, March 09, 2019, and I'm in the mood for a delicious burger!  As I was soon to discover, I came to the right place...

Photo:  A board sits outside the restaurant, on the sidewalk, where the daily specials are posted.  Looks like I've arrived just a little too early to enjoy "happy hour" on this Saturday afternoon.

Photo:  The dining room is modestly sized, squeaky clean, and sparsely decorated.  Tables and chairs are on the right, and to the left, out of the photo, is a long table against the wall, with stools, where single diners can dine.

The restaurant works on what I call "taqueria style" in that you walk up to the counter - in this case a window - make your selection, pay for it, and you'll get a number in return.  You choose your seat and when your order is ready, it will be brought to you with a smile.  Note the lack of menu above the window but printed menus are in a bin to the left of the window.

Photo:  The food menu lists burgers, sandwiches and salads.  Note the wide array of burgers offered... how to choose?  I "cheated" as I surfed the restaurant's web site before my visit, and I decided to go for "The Old Fashioned," as it seemed like a good place to start, and there is nothing that I love more than on "old school" cheeseburger.

Photo:  Meet Sammy, the friendly person at the window who took my order with a cheerful smile.  Not only does she work the cash register, but I was to find out that she delivers your order to your table.  You can watch the kitchen staff in action as you place your order. As you can see, my order for "The Old Fashioned" burger, along with fries and a Budweiser light beer came to $13.73, which is very reasonable.

Photo:  The beer selection changes occasionally, so the beer selection is printed on a chalk board, next to the order window.  I was definitely tempted to take a "flight," but since I had to drive, I didn't want my ticket punched on the way home by a friendly law enforcement officer, so I settled for a single Bud light.  Draught beer is on tap, and the taps are located in the kitchen.  Note the selection of canned craft beer.

Photo:  As Sammy hands my change to me, I take a photo of the kitchen staff in action, preparing delicious burgers.

Photo:  I love the little galvanized bucket filled with paper napkins, and the squeeze bottle full of hot sauce with the restaurant's logo.  As I enjoyed my burger, I found out the napkins really came in handy, as the burgers are super juicy.

Photo:  My friendly server, Sammy, brings my burger and fries to me with a friendly smile.

Photo:  Thanks, Sammy, for taking my photo as I prepare to enjoy my delicious lunch at The Dive Burgers & Brew.

Photo:  My order of "The Old Fashioned" burger, an optional cup of ranch dressing, fries and a Budweiser light beer.

Naturally, the star of the meal was the burger, which starts with a patty of choice ground beef, cooked your way, in my case, it was cooked medium, just the way I like it.  The burger is truly "old school," as it includes TWO pieces of perfectly melted cheddar cheese, tomato, lettuce and mayonnaise.  No mustard or ketchup is included, but if you really thought you needed it, all you'd have to do is ask.  It all sits on a toasted brioche bun, and is just the right size to hold in your hand, and devour all of the juicy goodness, cave man style.

The fries have to be the most unusual variety of fries that I've ever seen, or in this case, got to enjoy.  The flies are quite thick, flat and curvy which may seem unusual, but wait until you bite into them! They're fried crispy golden on the outside, tender and juicy inside, and aren't salty or greasy.  These fries are seriously delicious!  I did feel like splurging and ordered a cup of ranch dressing for dipping, but it was just an enhancement, as these fries stand out in the crowd by their own merit.

The burger was perfectly cooked, juicy, delicious, and as described, was definitely an "old school" burger.  I though I'd died and gone to "fry heaven," as the fries were THAT good!  Between the burger and the fries, this was an amazing lunch!

Photo:  I cut my burger in half so you could see the juicy goodness inside.  Since the burger was so amazing juicy, it also made it easier to eat and savor the goodness.  I definitely made good use of the amply supply of paper napkins!

If you're interested in one of the best burgers that Rocklin has to offer, served by super friendly staff in a clean, upscale dining room, than you should pay a visit to The Dive Burgers & Brew.  You'll love the burger and you'll love this fine restaurant!
