Denny's Restaurants opened their newest outlook in Roseville, CA on Sunday, February 27, 2011 on Foothills Blvd. in Roseville, CA, where we happen to live. I had been very interested in the transformation of this restaurant, from a bistro outlet into a Denny's, since I pass by the location a couple times a week on my daily walk. Finally on Friday, March 11, 2011, Sharlene and I were able to take time out of our busy schedules and enjoy a delicious breakfast at Denny's newest outlet.
Photo: As of this writing, the newest Denny's Restaurant outlet is all decked-out with flags... and the store has only been open for 13 days when this photo was taken. I walk by this location a couple of times a week, so had been following the transformation of this restaurant from a California bistro outlet into a Denny's. Sure, we tend to avoid chain restaurants, but if you love American comfort food, how can you fault Denny's?
Photo: Denny's newest outlet features a large, spacious dining room, and on our visit of March 11, 2011, the dining room still smelled "new." Sort of like the "new car" smell that you get when you purchase a new car.

As she approached the table, I used my usual line, "I want to take photos of a beautiful woman," and she stepped aside and got out of the picture, assuming that I only wanted a photo of my wife, Sharlene. Well, then I had to get specific and tell her that SHE was the beautiful woman that I wanted in the photo, along with my BEAUTIFUL wife, Sharlene. Raghini smiled and told me that she liked to have her photo taken - much to my pleasure - so I was happy to oblige.

I have to admit that I was planning to publish this article on Denny's Restaurants newest outlet - it wasn't a spontaneous thing - so before leaving the house, I grabbed my camera - I thought - but instead, I grabbed a GPS, which is housed in an identical case as the usual camera that I use. I didn't notice that I'd grabbed the GPS, instead of the camera, until we were in the parking lot of the restaurant. Sure, it's only a couple of miles from Denny's to our house, but we were at the restaurant, and my wife only tolerates my propensity for taking photos, so I relied on the camera that's built into my BlackBerry Torch 9800. One of the reasons I chose the BlackBerry over the iPhone was the superior camera that it has. Although these photos don't measure up to my usual standards, they're certainly usable; all photos in this article were taken by my cell phone. Considering the limitations of the cell phone, Raghini's lack of knowledge on the "weirdness" of my camera phone, it's remarkable that this photo turned out as good as it did...

Grilled peppers and onions, hash brown potatoes, prime rib, with two fried eggs on top... delirious coffee with endless refills, and flour tortillas - not shown - on the side... oh baby! Denny's Restaurants serves delicious, American comfort food. Sure, they have countless outlets and feature the same menu, no matter where you go, but if you're a fan of American diner cuisine, then Denny's is your restaurant. As the latest link in the chain or Denny's Restaurants, the outlet on Foothills Blvd. in Roseville is a winner, and we'll be regular customers. My commentary: Denny's Restaurants has taken a lot of heat in the media, but as far I'm concerned, Denny's is everything that I love in a restaurant. I'm not a fan of fancy, faux cuisine, as I like value, friendly service, large portions, and just plain ol' American comfort food... so you're talkin' Denny's Restaurants. Denny's
