Last week, Mr. Dan Cathy, C.E.O. of the Chick-fil-A restaurant chain, made some rather controversial remarks concerning his views, and presumably the view of Chick-fil-A's upper management, about same-sex marriage. Rest assured that my restaurant reviews are not a forum for religion or politics, but with all the brouhaha that followed Mr. Cathy's remarks, how could I not resist paying a visit to Roseville's Chick-fil-A store?

Photo:  Roseville's Chick-fil-A is located on Pleasant Grove Blvd, near CA 65 freeway, and is one of only three outlets in the greater Sacramento area.  In terms of seating and floor space, this is the largest fast food restaurant that I've had the pleasure to visit in Roseville.

Photo:  Friday, August 3, 2012, there was a line to order, as this article is written, Chick-fil-A's conservative political views are being questioned by those of different persuasion, and there has been a national campaign to boycott their stores.  Today in Roseville, any boycott seems to have been thwarted, as every table in the restaurant was full, and there was a long line of customers, waiting to order lunch.  Not to worry, as Chick-fil-A had every register open, and the wait to order was all of, maybe, two minutes.  They even had managers mingling with the crowd, to explain menu options and to answer any questions.  Have you ever seen a fast food restaurant with that level of customer service?  Or for that matter, any restaurant?  My hat goes off to Chick-fil-A!

Photo:  The dining room was jam-packed, and there were customers standing, waiting for their orders and waiting for a table.  There was no animosity, as everybody was jovial, and happy to be supporting a restaurant chain that upholds superior moral values.  I wish I could say the same thing about the corporation that I've been a team member of, for the past 31+ years...

Photo:  Ordering your delicious meal is very simple at Chick-fil-A, as you make your selection from the posted menu above the counter, pay for your order, and then you receive a little plastic card with a number on it - you're now a number! - then you pick your table, and one of the friendly staff will bring your order to you.  Olivia, my friendly hostess, had a bit of trouble finding me, as every table in the dining room was full, and I was in the back of the restaurant, in a little table for two, with just me, myself and I. As I was waiting for my order, and admiring the beautiful dining room, I was able to observe her trolling the dining room, obviously looking for me - my table was hard to spot - and I waved my number at her, and she brought my order to the table. Despite the fact that the store was jam-packed to capacity with hungry customers, my order arrived in less than five minutes.  And my lunch was delivered with a smile!

Photo:  I asked Olivia to snap my photo, and she was happy to do so, and she did an outstanding job.  The staff at Roseville's Chick-fil-A is very efficient, friendly, eager to please, and, unlike most fast food restaurants, seem to enjoy what they're doing.  Oh yes, don't forget the food!!!

Photo:  Religion and politics aside, if you want a delicious lunch, spread your wings and fly directly to Roseville's Chick-fil-A outlet.  I ordered a Chicken Club Sandwich and Waffle Fries for lunch today.  The grilled chicken breast was served on a fresh, chewy bun, topped with cheese, bacon, sliced tomato, lettuce leaf, and sauce.  It was unbelievably good!  The fries were thin cut fries, cut in a waffle pattern - how do they do it? - deep fried perfectly. The fries are deep-fried in canola oil, so they're not all that unhealthy, and this meal wasn't a calorie bomb, as the calorie count for entire meal topped out at only 790 calories!  Religion, politics, nutrition and calories aside, Chick-fil-A serves one of the best chicken club sandwiches that I've ever had the pleasure to enjoy.  If you love chicken, head to your nearest Chick-fil-A store!

Religion, politics and controversy aside, Chick-fil-A serves a superior Chicken Club Sandwich, and their Waffle Fries are on the healthy side, with to-die-for taste.  The restaurant is clean, the staff are very courteous, friendly, and seem to enjoy what they do, and they make you feel at home.  Forget the politics and enjoy the food!
