It's truly all "good eatin'" in the Rocklin, CA neighborhood where Applebee's is located! The Rocklin store features a cheery dining room that's a cross between a restaurant and a sports bar... with a friendly bar as the focal point. The staff is super friendly, and the delicious food is the fine "Americana" cuisine that you've come to expect from Applebee's. As with all of reviews that I publish, I have no affiliation with the restaurant reviewed, and there is no monetary gain on my part, as I am simply a person who likes to eat, and I love to write-up, and publish my dining experiences. Photo: It's just past the 11:00 morning opening time, Saturday, February 15, 2025, and I've arrived at Applebee's Neighborhood Bar and Grill, in Rocklin, CA to enjoy a delicious lunch. The restaurant is located in the Rocklin West Retail Center, a vibrant, busy shopping center at the corner of Lonetree and Pleasant Grove Blvds. Photo: As you enter the restaurant, the first thing you'll notice is the attractive bar, and the many video monitors. The bar area is surrounded by a low partition, which separates it from the main dining room. The bar area, along with the dining room, has a sports bar "feel" and it's both attractive and comfortable. Photo: The bar area features high tables and chairs, and like the dining room, offers ample natural lighting from the many windows. I simply love the decor of the restaurant! Photo: Applebee's is Rocklin "proud" as this is one of many posters showing the civic pride the restaurant has for the community. Photo: The "Handcrafted Burgers" section of the menu offers several burgers that are made to order. Applebee's offers quality, hand-crafted "comfort food" and there is something on the menu for every taste. Photo: After ordering my "BIG Classic Bacon Cheeseburger," I ordered a Coors beer, which Avery poured from the tap. The many video monitors in the bar area, and the dining room were turned to various news and sports programs. I absolutely LOVED the atmosphere in this fine restaurant! Photo: Each table at the bar featured a little menu that advertised "Happy Hour" specials, and the selection of half-price appetisers available during happy hour. Photo: The Rocklin location of Applebee's Neighborhood Bar and Grill is proud to be located in western Placer County, in California's gold country. Photo: Meet Avery, my super friendly server and bartender, who delivered my delicious lunch to me with a smile. She treated me like a rock star. The service was fast, as my custom-made cheeseburger and fries arrived about fifteen minutes after I placed my order. This is amazing Gold Country Dining! Photo: I'm a happy guy, as I toast my server, Avery, Applebee's and the City of Rocklin. The 24-oz Coors beer was priced at only $6.35, and like the cheeseburger and fries, was a bargain. My entire meal, including state tax, came to only $17.52, which is a bargain, in the year 2025. Photo: From "The Really Big Meal Deal" section of the online menu, I went with "BIG Classic Bacon Cheeseburger," and an order of "Classic Fries," which were included with the meal. This meal isn't listed on the printed menu, as it's listed online, and advertised in the media. The menu describes this amazing cheeseburger as, "Our juicy all-beef patty, topped with two slices of American Cheese and two strips of Applewood smoked bacon. Served with lettuce, tomato, onion and pickles on a Brioche bun. Served with classic fries." I describe this burger and fries as AMAZING! The burger began with a half-pound patty of juicy, choice beef, cooked medium rare. When I ordered, I didn't specify to my server how I wanted my burger cooked, as it arrived medium rare, which happens to be my preference. Note to self: When ordering, I should always specify how I want my burger cooked! The meat placed on a lightly buttered, toasted, fresh Brioche bun, and topped with two perfectly melted slices of American cheese, and two strips of Applewood smoked bacon. Yes, the bacon was smoked, and gave the cheeseburger a delicious, smoky taste, which I simply love. Fresh, crispy leaves of lettuce, sliced tomato, onion and pickles were placed under the meat. Here's the amazing part: The bun, meat, cheese and bacon were HOT, while the lettuce, tomato, onion and pickle slices were COLD. The combination of hot and cold ingredients make for a top-shelf burger, and is seldom seen at most restaurants. This made my "BIG Classic Bacon Cheeseburger" over-the-top delicious. This is a burger for burger lovers! One bite into this burger, and I was instantly transported to burger nirvana! The crisp, chilled condiments, the juicy meat, the perfectly melted cheese, the fresh bun, and the smoky bacon all worked together to make a superior burger. The burger was juicy, flavorful, smoky and simply delicious. It was so amazing that I didn't bother to add any mustard or ketchup, as it was standalone delicious the way it arrived from the kitchen. The chef has talent, and Applebee's makes an amazing burger! The fries were deep fried to a perfect crispy golden brown on the outside, white and tender on the inside, and made for an outstanding side to my amazing bacon cheeseburger. I confess the "kid" in me squeezed some ketchup on the side of my plate to dip the fries into. I normally don't pay much attention to television advertising, but while watching football, when I saw the add, promoting a classic, custom-made cheeseburger and fries for $9.99, it truly grabbed my attention. You know how the product always looks much better on television than in real life? Not so at Applebees, as my "BIG Classic Bacon Cheeseburger," along with the fries, was just as pretty, or perhaps even more mouth watering delicious than portrayed by television advertising. At $9,99, this meal was the deal of the decade. You're talking about a premium, custom-made BACON CHEESEBURGER and fries, for about the same price as a soggy, hour old, mass-produced bag of "stuff" that you'd get from a fast food outlet. No thanks, I'll stick with Applebee's, as I love "Eatin' Good in the Neighborhood!" Photo: I hold my "Big Classic Bacon Cheeseburger" and admire all of the goodness before taking my first bite. Yes, the meat, cheese, bacon and bun were hot, and the veggies were chilled. This was simply an amazing cheeseburger! It's all good in the neighborhood as the food is delicious, the dining atmosphere is comfortable and inviting, and the staff is friendly, and will treat you like a rock star.
