Are you a lover of classic cars?  Are you a lover of 1950's or 1960's nostalgia?  Finally, do you enjoy great food?  If you answered "yes" to any of the above questions, head over to Hot Rod Diner, just off busy Highway 99, in Turlock.

As with all of my reviews, I have no affiliation with the restaurant reviewed, and there is no monetary gain on my part, as I am simply a person who likes to eat, and I love to write-up, and publish my dining experiences.

Photo:  I've been waiting to hit this restaurant for a couple of years, and the day finally arrived on Thursday, November 17, 2016.

Photo:  It's 0630 on this early Thursday morning in mid November, and the restaurant is PACKED, mostly with Turlock locals who know how to enjoy a great breakfast.  Hot Rod Diner also caters to truckers, four wheelers and travelers, as the restaurant is located just a couple blocks off busy California State Highway 99.

Photo shows the view of the dining room, as your enter the restaurant.

Photo:  A busy early Thursday morning at Hot Rod Diner.  The dining room offers plenty of seating, with a mixture of booths and tables. There is even a "fake" old-school "Texaco" gas pump - hand crank - for your dining pleasure to enjoy.

Photo:  Like all good diners, Hot Rod Diner features a counter, which is perfect for single diners, like myself.  Does this restaurant look familiar?  It used to be a "Jenny's" years ago, but things have changed, and it's Hot Rod Diner.

Photo:  Hot Rod Diner is open for breakfast and lunch only, so you know they're serious about breakfast.  That works for me, as I'm a serious breakfast person.  This is just one page in their serious breakfast menu.  I zeroed in on "No. 4," located at the right lower corner of the photo.  I rarely pass by a breakfast that includes gravy.

Photo:  When I dine alone, I like to sit at the counter, as I can chat with other "alone diners" and watch the action of the staff.  My busy, and friendly server, Ashley,  is in the center of the photo - she took care of the entire, busy, dining room - and Tom, sitting next to me, is using the opportunity to catch up on his texting.

Photo:  My friendly server, Ashley, was rather "camera shy," but I did manage to snap a photo of her in action.  She was the only server on duty, and she did a great job keeping my coffee cup full and attending to the nearly full dining room.

Photo:  Ashley snapped my photo, upon my request, as I prepare to enjoy a "Number Four" breakfast.

Photo:  Weekday mornings include bargain breakfasts, so on this early Thursday morning, I chose a "Number Four." It includes a biscuit and gravy, two eggs any style, along with two sausage links, or two slices of bacon.  I chose eggs over easy, with sausage links.  At $5.49, this is a great breakfast value!

Combine one of the best breakfasts in Turlock, classic cars, and nostalgia from the 1950's and 1960's, and you have Hot Rod Diner.  It's a "destination" diner for Turlock locals, and for anybody who enjoys great food, and vintage nostalgia...
